Finidi George got his official debut game as Enyimba head Coach off on a winning start guiding his side to a 1-0 victory against Senegal’s Diambars in a CAF Confederation Cup playoff game on Saturday, ABN TV reports.

Enyimba snatched a late winner through substitute Cyril Olisema, who converted an 87th-minute penalty.

The victory hands the Nigerian club side the first-leg advantage in the tie.

Finidi George and his players will regroup for the home leg of the qualifiers and have the clear advantage to advance to the next round.

The former Ajax and Real Betis winger took charge of his first official game as head coach of the People’s Elephant away from home.
