Manchester City have confirmed the signing of 25-year-old Egyptian striker Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt on a four-and-a-half-year contract that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2029.
Regarded as one of Europe’s most promising forwards, Marmoush adds versatility to City’s attacking options with his ability to play across various positions in the front line.
The Egyptian international, who has earned 35 caps for his country, expressed his excitement about joining Pep Guardiola’s team, saying, “Signing for Manchester City—one of the best teams in the world—is an incredible feeling.”
The announcement was made by the club on their website Thursday morning.
Marmoush began his football career in Egypt with Wadi Degla before moving to Germany in 2017, where he played for Wolfsburg before joining Frankfurt in 2023. His impressive 2023/24 season saw him score 17 goals in 41 appearances. This form continued into the current season, with Marmoush registering 20 goals and 14 assists in 26 games before completing his move to City.
City’s Director of Football, Txiki Begiristain, lauded the striker’s technical ability, pace, and versatility, stating, “Omar is an accomplished and exciting forward… I am confident that under Pep’s guidance, he will continue to develop and enhance his already superb attacking talent.”
