The names of approximately five first-team players who may leave Chelsea this summer have been revealed.

According to the Evening Standard, Mason Mount could lead a mass exodus from Chelsea at the end of the season.

N’Golo Kante, Conor Gallagher, Mateo Kovacic, and Edouard Mendy are also locked in contract negotiations, threatening their futures at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are prepared to release all of the aforementioned players whose contract negotiations have stalled at the west London club.

The new owners want to avoid the mistakes made by the previous regime, which saw players like Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen leave Chelsea on free transfers to Real Madrid and Barcelona, respectively.

Mount has been in contract talks with Chelsea for some time, but the England international has yet to agree on terms, while Kovacic will enter the final year of his contract this summer, and Chelsea has yet to open talks with the Croatian star.

Since Graham Potter took over from Thomas Tuchel as manager, Mendy has lost his starting spot to goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, while Kante is in the final months of his current contract at Chelsea and is hesitant to agree to a two-year deal on the table.

Finally, Gallagher was on the verge of being sold in the January transfer window, with Everton putting in a £40 million bid, but the Blues decided to keep the midfielder and sell Jorginho to Arsenal instead.
