Abia State Commissioner of Police, CP Janet E. Agbede has absolved Aba Area Commander, ACP Kabiru Ibrahim of negligence.

She also stated that ACP Ibrahim is known for diligence, resilience, and proactive in his policing.

This is following a newspaper publication on Monday with the title ‘POLICEMEN ACCUSE ABA AREA COMMANDER OF NEGLIGENCE’ in which ACP Ibrahim was accused of negligence by a group of policemen under the aegis of Concerned Police Officers (CPO).

In a statement issued on Wednesday by the PPRO of the command, SP Ogbonna Geoffrey, the CP insisted that there is no such group like Concerned Police Officers (CPO) in Abia command.

“The attention of the Commissioner of Police Abia State Command, CP Janet E. Agbede has been drawn to a publication in page 5 of Daily Sun Newspaper of Monday, November 2, 2020, captioned as above credited to some Police Officers under the aegis of Concerned Police Officers (CPO) in Aba and categorically wish to state as follows:

“That there is no group or association in Abia State Police Command known or identified as Concerned Police Officers (CPO).

“That the Area Commander Aba, ACP Kabiru Ibrahim is known for diligence, resilience, and proactive in his policing.

“That it was only one facility occupied by Policemen in Aba that was razed down during the #End SARS Protest.

“That the minimal loss of human and material resources incurred by the Police in Aba and Abia State Command, in general, was a product of proper coordination by the Commissioner of Police, Area Commanders, and the Divisional Police Officers.

“That the allegation against the Aba Area Commander, ACP Kabiru Ibrahim is false and malicious aimed at discrediting and demoralizing him.

“The Command, therefore, enjoins the notary public to disregard the accusation and publication as such is the handwork of myopic persons who always want cheap popularity by antagonizing others”.
