An APC youth leader in Ebonyi state, Ogochukwu Elem alongside two police officers have lost their lives in a ghastly auto accident.
The trio died after their car veered off the road and plunged into a mining pit along Abakaliki – Ikwo road on Saturday.
ABN TV gathered that efforts are underway to recover the vehicle and the corpses. Speaking on the Incident, State governor, Dave Umahi described the Incident as ‘unfortunate’.
“We do not know the cause of the accident, we do not know what happened, but it is quite very mysterious that even the wages of the sand could not stop them, and the car plunged into a mining pit that was dug over 20 years ago and not closed but it is very unfortunate, and we have been fighting this issue of digging pits, harvesting led, zinc and even chippings without closing it back.”
