Ebem Kingdom in Ohafia local government area of Abia state has fixed date for its 2021 annual new yam and Igba Ekpe festival.
This is contained in a letter obtained by ABN TV addressed to the Secretary-General, central executive committee of Ebem Ohafia Development Union, Elder Idika Kalu Uche by HRH Ukoha Kalu Ukoha, JP, Kpoke I of Ekeluogo Ebem Autonomous Community, and the Natural and Paramount Ruler of Ebem Kingdom, Ohafia.
The event has been scheduled to take place on Saturday, Orie, September 4, 2021.

This date was arrived following a consultation with the Ezie Ebem in Council during her Igbo weekly meeting of Friday 16 July, 2021.
The letter however announced that the usual traditional procession will not take place.
The letter also urged all citizens of Ebem to use the opportunity Abum Assembly to come out and speak their minds and contribute ideas that will move the community forward.
