Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, one of the lawyers representing the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has asked President Bola Tinubu to release his client “today or tomorrow”.
Ejimakor on Monday also asked President Tinubu not to inherit former president Muhammadu Buhari’s disdain for Ndigbo.
In a tweet, Ejimakor urged the newly inaugurated president to chart his own part and ignore that of his predecessor.
Buhari repeatedly ignored the call for the release of Nnamdi Kanu who has been in detention since 2021 in Abuja.
Ejimakor said, “Dear President Bola Tinubu: I ave an urgent request: Free Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, today or tomorrow. Don’t drag it.
“Don’t inherit Buhari’s misguided animus, hubris, and his infamous disdain for rule of law & for Ndigbo. Chart your own path. Thank you, sir!”.
