The Principal Clerk of General Assembly, Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, PCN, Most Rev. Dr. Miracle Aja has called on Christians globally to at all times represent God as the salt of the earth wherever they are.

According to the clergy, as the light of the world, Christians owe it a duty to shine before men, adding that it is part of assignment of priesthood handed to man by God.

Speaking with ABN TV on Sunday shortly after church service to mark the end of 13-day event titled Royal Priesthood in Umuahia, Rev. Aja emphasised that Christians should maintain their call to represent God well on earth to keep to their identity.

He said the 13-day event was focused on the theme of the church for the years, Royal Priesthood.

He highlighted identity, assignment and anointing as the core of priesthood.

“Identity has to do with what we are in Christ and the declaration is that we are royal priesthood. It’s a privilege and not just an ordinary title. It is a positional privilege God has given to every child of God. So we are special. We are not ordinary people.

“Then the second pillar we are focused on is assignment. By assignment we mean that the title is not enough. The identity is not enough. If you cannot complement it with assignment that can define the identity, it will be a waste of time.

“God has called us out of darkness into his marvellous light, to declare God’s praises. That is the assignment.

“The last one has to do with anointing. Any assignment without God’s anointing will be powerless. Jesus said without me you cannot do nothing. So it is the anointing that empowers the assignment that gives the identity meaning” he said.

According to the clergy, identify, assignment and anointing put together can make one’s position as royal priesthood meaningful.
