Hon. Paul Meregini has congratulated the newly elected Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu.

He also congratulated Hon Austin Okezie Meregini on his emergence as the Deputy Speaker of Abia State House of Abia.

Hon. Meregini who was former candidate For Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South federal constituency in the February 25 National Assembly election, in a congratulatory message on Thursday described the ascension of Rep. Benjamin Kalu, representing Bende Federal Constituency of Abia State to the Deputy Speakership position of the Nigerian House of Representatives as a heart-warming for the people of Abia in particular and Ndigbo in general.

He said Rep. Benjamin Kalu represents one of the best species of leaders who have in a short while in the House of Representatives demonstrated uncommon zeal and outstanding commitment to entrench the culture of effective representation to his people.

Kalu in just one term as a lawmaker has demonstrated capacity in offering his people a redefined representation by the quality of projects he attracted, quality of Bills and motions he sponsored and moved.

“His emergence as Deputy Speaker did not come as a surprise as his track record speaks volumes on his outstanding competence, capacity and character.

“I am confident that he will use an enviable position to advance the Igbo and South East project at Nigeria’s centre of governance”.

Similar, while congratulating the new Abia Assembly deputy Speaker, Hon. Austin, Hon. Meregini noted that the dawn of a new era in Abia has come, even as he stresses that the new Deputy Speaker embodies capacity, zeal for excellent service delivery, and integrity that will help push an agenda for the common Abians.

He prayed God to give the two Deputy Speakers the knowledge and wisdom to serve their various constituencies and Nigerians utmost excellence.
