FC Barcelona’s Sporting Director has hailed Brazilian wonder kid Vitor Roque describing him as a fantastic goalscorer.
Barcelona signed Roque in the last summer window in a deal worth €31 million plus €31 million in variables.
He agreed to join the Catalan giants in the summer of 2024 but it has always been the club’s plan for a January debut.
But with the registration issues and Laliga regulations on the Xavi Hernandez-led side, it might be a bit tricky for him to be available in January.
In an interview with fcbarcelonanoticias.com, Deco the club is keen to add the Athletico Paranaense player to their ranks.
“We all want him to come as soon as possible,” Deco said.
“From the beginning, there was talk that he could only come in January because that was the condition that Athletico Paranaense set. We are doing everything, we know the Laliga regulations, and that there have been some changes that can help us, if this happens, we also have some responsibilities with Laliga when it comes to fulfilling some pending things.
“He is a kid who has goals . And that is very difficult to find. All clubs look for someone with goals. He is young and has important forward movements. He looks for space a lot, he presses, he moves very well behind the centre backs in the area.”
Roque might be the only player Barcelona will sign in the upcoming winter transfer window.
Roque has played 22 matches in the Brazilian Serie A this season yielding 11 goals and three assists.
Athletico Paranaense is seventh place in the Brazilian Serie A standings with 51 points accrued from 34 games.
Barcelona have accumulated 30 points after 13 games and they are third in the division.
