Ayra Starr has made history as the first Nigerian female artiste to surpass 1 billion views on YouTube.
The 23-year-old singer has now overtaken Yemi Alade’s record of 805 million views, making her the most viewed Nigerian female artiste of all time on the platform, according to DAILY POST.
Leading the numbers is her Grammy-nominated hit single “Rush,” which has amassed over 450 million views alone, contributing significantly to the milestone.
With this achievement, Ayra Starr joins the elite league of Nigerian artists—including Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Flavour, Rema, Ckay, Kizz Daniel, P-Square, Omah Lay, Fireboy, and Tekno—who have each crossed the 1 billion view mark on YouTube.
