The Moderator, South Central Synod of the Pentecostal Church of Nigeria, PCN, Most Rev. Chukwuma Kalu Okorie has said the yearly Synod Meeting of the church is a time to interact with grass-root members of the church on its achievements, visions and directions.

According to the cleric, the church deals with the parishioners all through the year through the presbyteries, adding that the once in a year meeting avails them opportunity to hear from the synod directly on the journey so far, accomplishments of the church and the agenda it has set for itself.

Speaking with ABN TV in Umuahia on Friday shortly after the 26th annual South Central Synod meeting of the church, Rev. Okorie while noting that the 2022 edition of the meeting was hugely successful added it members of the synod have been armed with a direct message from the synod on what its focus is in the next one year.

He applauded friends of the church who came from far and near to join in the meeting, expressing gratitude for their readiness to partner with the church in its projects.

He said the fellowship which ended with a communion has further rejuvenated the spiritual lives of members of the church.

The cleric also prayed for peace, stability and prosperity of Nigeria especially as it heads to the 2023 general elections, expressing optimism that the country will overcome its challenges.

Highlight of the meeting was the election of a new Synod Clerk, Very Rev David Ama Kalu who succeeds Very Rev Isreal Iduma Chukwu after the expiration of his four-year tenure.
