The Abia State chapter All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has hinted of a planned attack by one Prince Nnanna Ukaegbu and his sponsors who have also recruited hoodlums and miscreants to invade the party’s state secretariat in Umuahia on Tuesday, August 30,2022, with an intent to take over the party office.

The party in a statement on Monday jointly signed by Ambassador Sunday Onukwubiri, the State Secretary and Barrister Chukwuemeka Nwokoro, the State Legal Adviser of APGA respectively vowed that it will not sit by and watch Ukaegbu take over the party.

The party said in the release, “APGA will never allow a man whose tenure expired since 2015, and who has since then never participated in any meetings or activities of the party to take over our office.

“Price Nnanna Ukaegbu has been working in cahoots with those who feel threatened by the swelling support and growing popularity of APGA and our candidates ahead of the 2023 elections, to throw the party into disarray but he will be stoutly resisted.”

The party said security agencies have been informed of the planned attack, warning people it described as “undemocratic forces behind this evil plot” to desist from truncating the peace APGA in Abia State enjoys.

The statement read further, “We are not unaware of the conspiracy and secret meetings by undemocratic forces in the state who are very uncomfortable with the massive support that APGA enjoys across the state.

“Abians should also know of the desperation by the political principalities holding the state down to distract APGA by using some moles and unpatriotic elements. The reason for their sustained attacks on APGA is simply because they know that it is the beacon of hope for Abian’s emancipation come 2023. We, therefore, want to place member and members of the public on notice about this satanic agenda.

“The same undemocratic forces have fabricated criminal allegations against our deputy governorship candidate, Hon. Obinna Ichita with an intent to incriminate him. They are desperately looking for grounds to distabilise APGA which is their only threat to perpetuate their oppression of the state but as always they will fail again.

“For the purpose of clarity, Rev. Augustine Ehiemere remains the authentic Chairman of APGA in Abia State, while Professor Greg Ibe is our governorship candidate for the 2023 election.

“We also caution all those being recruited for this unholy move to retrace their steps as they will regret their actions. To be forewarned is to be forearmed.”
