The state-wide consultation and interaction with political stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, by the Mayor Lucky Igbokwe Ekweremekwe Movement today Wednesday 11th May, 2022 moved to Umuahia North LGA, in continuation of its engagements with stakeholders and delegates in the run-up to the PDP governorship election primaries.

At the residence of the PDP strongman, Chief Charles Ogbonnaya where Umuahia North PDP stakeholders received Mayor Lucky Igbokwe and his team, they pledged to give him (Lucky Igbokwe) the maximum support needed for him to clinch the party’s governorship ticket.

Welcoming the PDP governorship hopeful, a PDP chieftain in Abia State, Chief Uche Akwukwuegbu also known as Bawas, said the Umuahia Stakeholders are proud of Mayor Lucky Igbokwe and would give him their support. He queried why the youthful gubernatorial candidate for Abia state wouldn’t win the election, saying that Lucky Igbokwe is a better governorship material.

He promised that he would personally donate money to the campaign when the time comes because they are completely behind Mayor Igbokwe’s aspiration.

Similarly, Chief Charles Ogbonnaya, former commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, spoke highly of Mayor Igbokwe, who is also the founder of Don Lulu Foundation, saying that they would ensure that he wins in Umuahia North.

Chief Charles Ogbonnaya who holds the title Evuleogu Ibeku maintained that it would be out of place that the governorship ticket was zoned to Abia Central and Abia North without any aspirant of Umuahia origin, adding that “and you’re a good material to cap it all”.

Addressing the stakeholders, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, assured that he has come to put things the right way and attract massive investments to Abia state if voted into power, pointing out that he would be a servant leader. He promised to make life easier for the elders through some of the policies his is going to implement, which will help prolong the life span of the senior citizens of Abia state.

Mayor Igbokwe said he is prepared for the job and has offered himself as an agent of change, promising not only to work with the youths but to also pick the best hands to work with him in delivering good governance to the people.

Some of the stakeholders in attendance were Chief Charles Ogbonnaya, Chief Uche Akwukwuegbu, Dr Aham Uko, Rt Hon Chidiebere Nwoke, Rt Hon Emeka Ejiogu, Emeka Enyeazu, PhD, Hon Ugochukwu Emezue and Chief Frank Ibe.

Others were Chief Lucky Akabuike, Hon Chidiebere Nwachukwu, Engr Emma Nwabuko, executive chairman Umuahia North LGA Hon Ugochukwu Njikonye, Apostle Bob Agbugba, Hon Willie Ekeleme, Chief Kingsley Megwara and Obed Asiegbu among numerous other men and women of the PDP family.
