The Abia State Government has constituted a five-member Special Investigative Committee to examine allegations of harassment, bribery, and certificate forgery involving some staff and students of Abia State University.

The Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, disclosed this while briefing journalists on the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Alex Otti.

According to the Commissioner, the committee, chaired by Professor Caleb Ajagba, was set up as part of the government’s commitment to maintaining academic integrity and ethical standards in the state-owned institution.

Kanu stated that the committee’s mandate includes investigating the allegations, identifying individuals found culpable, and making appropriate recommendations to the Visitor of the university for necessary action.
