The national youth movement of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP on Thursday stormed Umuahia, Abia state capital calling on the party to support a young, pragmatic leader to emerge as governor in 2023.
The youth political movement therefore said it has found the United Nations Mayor of Peace, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe worthy of governing the state in 2023 to give it a fresh direction, chart a new developmental course away from the old order.
The National President of PDP National Youth Movement, Engr (Comr) Salahudeen A Lukman while addressing newsmen in Umuahia said there is need for Abia to join the league of new order.
They appealed to Abia state delegates to choose Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, stating that he has the zeal, and understanding to make the needed difference in Abia.
They noted that as a private sector operative, he has demonstrated an effective and efficient management of people, power, resources and interest to be bear the flag of the great party in Abia State.
Salahudeen A Lukman said, “While commending the party leadership, stakeholders and faithful members accross all levels, we humbly wish to push forward, that It not enough for our generation as youth to have an affordable Party Nomination and Expression of interest form, it’s critical and essential young people secure Party tickets at the primaries hence our call on National leadership to further prevail on critical stakeholders at various state level to give special consideration for youth who are jostling for Party ticket as we commence Primaries.
“Our critical review of youthful GUBERNATORIAL aspirants across the 36 state of the federation have further shown that Abia state is one of the states we have practical young man running for office of the Governor under our great Party, we therefore join the entire Nigerians and People Democratic Party family nationwide to congratulate and count Abia State LUCKY.
“Indeed Abia is LUCKY to have a practical youth on the race to rescue the mission of governance, it’s credible best choice for ABIANS to embrace the new order, a new order to birth freedom from fear of known and unknown, the freedom from limitation and continue dominance of old idea of leadership and Governance, it’s high time the Abia State embraced innovative leadership by ending recycling to birth new direction that will give Abia State a new beginning.
“The China of Nigeria is Abia State, it deserve a better leadership with innovation and leadership seal for the state to live up to its potential of being the economic hub of Nigeria.
“Arising from this critical evaluation, as young citizens of this great country with clear understanding of politics, power and Governance, we hereby recommends to the Abia state delegates, one of our own, a youth with zeal, a youth with differences, a youth with clear cut understanding of governance, effective and efficient management of people, power, resources and interest to be bear the flag of our great party in Abia State.
“We are certain that the PROGRAMMATIC Mayor Lucky Igbokwe will surely deliver if given the opportunity as he’s more than prepared and ready for the job.”
They urge the Abia delegates not to reinforce failure but elect a credible candidate who can secure victory for the party in 2023.
“As political youth organization with understanding of how important education is to the young and upcoming generations, National security, economy and social development, we condemned in totality the less seriousness and concern given to education sector by the ruling APC, having ASUU on strike for 3 months with extension of another 3 months while ASUP is commencing her own strike again today, is so worrisome, naira falls freely on daily basis with unstable inflation rate, fuel scarcity still lingers, Kaduna Abuja train attack victims (captives) citizens are still in captivity yet Minister of Education, Minister of Transportation, CBN Governor, Minister of Labour and Minister of Petroleum who are saddle with the respective ministry and agency incharge are all in the race for President of Nigeria under the failed ruling party APC.
“This a clear case of failure, lack of respect for Nigerians, electorates, masses and peak of inhumanity of man against humanity.
“We the PDP National Youth Movement challenge President Buhari to prove to Nigerians that he is a man of integrity by SACKING these careless and clueless cabinet members as they have all clearly shown lack of understanding of their primary responsibilities, misplacement of priority, negligence of duty and abuse of office. He’s hereby advice to appoint another persons forthwith if there is any one with conscience left in APC to mount those critical ministries.
“While we express deep concern and sympathy for teeming Nigerian students, we hereby declare our total support for National Shutdown of all major roads and Airports by student leadership as declared by her mother body NANS.
“We urge Nigerian not to reinforce failure, it therefore means APC must be rejected at the poll from top to bottom, our dear Party PDP which is known for pro people oriented governance should be massively supported to reclaim power accross board, states and center to Rescue and Rebuild our dear Nation Nigeria as a matter of urgency and National interest.”
