A correspondent with Abia Arise News, Mrs. Norah Okafor, has emerged as the new Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Abia State chapter.
Norah Okafor was elected to lead the association following the inauguration of new executives, a development expected to usher in a fresh phase of leadership and renewed commitment within the body of female journalists in the state.
In her acceptance speech shortly after her emergence, the newly elected Chairperson expressed gratitude to members of the association for the confidence reposed in her, describing her election as “a call to service and responsibility.”
She pledged to lead with dedication, unity, and transparency, while assuring members that her administration would work towards taking the association to greater heights both within and outside Abia State.
According to her, the new executive council would soon unveil strategies and programmes aimed at strengthening the association and promoting the welfare of members.
Mrs. Okafor also appealed for the cooperation and support of all members, stressing that collective efforts would help build a stronger and more impactful NAWOJ in Abia State.
She further expressed optimism that under the new leadership, Abia NAWOJ would continue to record greater achievements.
