Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has called on the Aba Community to come out en masse to cast their votes for Hon. Chimaobi Ebisike of the PDP during the forthcoming by-election for Aba North/Aba South Federal Constituency holding on 27th March 2021.

The Governor made the call during a mega rally of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held at Etche Road Field Aba. He said that the PDP led administration in the State has done much to deserve the vote of Aba people, adding that equity and fairness demand that an Aba indigene is allowed to represent them at the National Assembly for the first time since 1999, a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Onyebuchi Ememanka says.

He added that his administration has built several roads in Aba and is poised to do more, saying that Aba people should vote based on what political parties have done in the State. He described the PDP candidate, Hon. Chimaobi Ebisike as a young committed party man capable of representing the people.

Speaking also, the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Sir Ude Oko Chukwu said that the candidate will represent the people well at the Green Chambers. He said a vote for PDP is an affirmation for Governor Ikpeazu, who has done great for the Aba community.

The statement added, “Also speaking, the Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji, other members of the State House of Assembly including, Hon. Solomon Akpulonu, Hon. Aaron Uzodike and Hon. Ginger Onwusibe called on the people to support the candidature of Chimaobi Ebisike, saying that need to work closely with the Governor for all that he has done for the Aba people cannot be overemphasized.

“They solicited the support of all and sundry to ensure that an indigene of Aba wins in the by-election.

“In his speech, the PDP State Chairman, Rt. Hon. Asiforo Okere said it is only an Aba indigene, who was born and bred in Aba that can represent Aba well,describing it as an opportunity for an Aba boy coming to complement the works of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in Aba.

“He disclosed that the process the candidate was selected was the freest and fairest election where all the aspirants accepted the election and supported in the project of producing Chimaobi Ebisike as the next member representing Aba North/Aba South at the National Assembly.

“Earlier, the Chairman of the occasion, a former Deputy Governor of Abia State and a Member of the Board of Trustees of the PDP, Rt. Hon. Acho Nwakanma said the Governor has done a lot in Aba and called on the Aba community to pay back Governor Ikpeazu by voting the PDP on the election day.

“In their speeches, Sir Don Ubani and Barr. Chijioke Nkaru said it is an opportunity for people of Aba to show solidarity with the Governor by voting the PDP. They said the candidate is tested and trusted and is capable of representing the people effectively. They thanked the Governor for giving the party the chance to produce a sellable candidate for the election and assured that all Nigeria citizens living in Aba North and South would cast their votes for Chimaobi Ebisike.

“Speaking, some of the aspirants at the primary election that produced Chimaobi Ebisike, including Dr. NCNC Okoli, Chief Mrs. Uwaoma Olenwengwa and Mr. Alex Ikwechegh stated that no Aba man has tasted the seat, saying that it is reasonable to allow an Aba man to occupy the position and called on all to support him and described Ebisike as highly experienced. They said, based on what the Governor has done in Aba, there is no how PDP would lose. They promised they would do their best to ensure the PDP wins

“On behalf of the youths, Mr. Promise Iheasimuo assured that the youths have agreed to support the PDP candidate, adding that they would work very hard to ensure total victory for the PDP.”
