The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, Chief Ikenna Nicolas Ukwa, is set to commence a Back-to-School Programme aimed at supporting pupils, students and parents across Arochukwu and Ohafia Local Government Areas of Abia State.
The programme, scheduled to begin on Friday, October 9, 2026, will involve the distribution of educational materials to pupils and students in selected primary and secondary schools across the federal constituency.

The initiative is being sponsored by Ukwa and his wife, Lolo Jennifer E. Ukwa, through the Ikenna & Jenn Ukwa Foundation, in collaboration with the Ikenna Ukwa Progressive Group.
According to a statement issued by the Ikenna Ukwa Media Team, the intervention is designed to ease the financial burden on parents, particularly amid the prevailing economic challenges, while providing essential learning materials to help children succeed in their academic pursuits.
The sponsors explained that the initiative reflects their commitment to improving access to education and supporting families who may be struggling to meet the educational needs of their children.
They maintained that education remains one of the greatest investments any society can make in its future, stressing that every child deserves the opportunity to learn and develop their potential, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.
Ukwa and his wife, who described themselves as beneficiaries of quality education, reaffirmed their determination to continue investing in the educational development of children across Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, irrespective of whether they currently occupy public office.
They noted that their commitment to education goes beyond political aspirations, adding that supporting young learners is an important step towards building a more educated, empowered and productive generation.
The Back-to-School Programme is expected to cover the eight major clans of the constituency, including Abam, Abiriba, Arochukwu, Ihechiowa, Isu, Nkporo, Ohafia and Ututu.
The initiative forms part of the foundation’s efforts to promote educational development, support vulnerable families and encourage academic excellence among children in the constituency.
The organisers expressed optimism that the intervention would provide meaningful relief to benefiting families while encouraging pupils and students to remain focused on their education.
The programme is scheduled to commence today, with educational materials to be distributed to selected schools across the constituency.
