Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, the vice presidential candidate for the Labour Party, LP, claimed that Northern Nigeria is paying a very heavy price for voting on the basis of religion and ethnicity.

This information was revealed by the former lawmaker on Sunday during “The Peoples Townhall,” which was hosted by Channels Television and its partners. Peter Obi, the party’s presidential contender, also attended the function.

Baba-Ahmed promised that he and Obi will work together to find solutions to every issue, including insecurity and corruption.

The day you hear the words “President Peter Obi,” Nigeria will already be unified, he claimed. Once Nigerians are united, we will work together to find solutions to all of our issues, including insecurity, a failing economy, and unprecedentedly worsening corruption.

“This is one election that is turning out to be about character supported by record, competence, and capacity, therefore we genuinely deserve the votes of Nigerians. Since northern Nigeria is currently paying a very serious price for voting based on religion and race, it is obvious that this election is not supposed to be about religious and racial feelings.

“We’re going to put an end to the killings and begin healing; put an end to the stealing and begin keeping; put an end to the drop of our currency and start the climb of our society.”
