The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has announced the dates on which it will issue Certificates of Return to newly elected governors.

The committee made the decision during a meeting on March 25, 2023, one week after gubernatorial elections were held across the country.

The constitution requires INEC to issue the Certificate of Return within 14 days.

The electoral authority has now scheduled the presentation for March 29, Thursday, March 30, and Friday, March 31 at their headquarters in each state.

The Resident Electoral Commissioners and Administrative Secretaries of the several states shall announce specific dates for the issuance of the certificates to individuals elected.

So far, twenty-six governors-elect have been named.
