The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu has approved the appointment of Dr. Philip Nto for the second term in office of 4 years.
Dr. Nto is the PROVOST, Abia State College of Education (Technical) Arochukwu.
In a statement signed by the Secretary to the State government, Barr. Chris Ezem, this appointment takes effect from 2nd day of March, 2020.
The Lagos State Government has said that the Chinese citizen who presented at the Reddington Hospital, Ikeja yesterday and suspected to have Corona virus has tested negative to the infection.
The commissioner of health, Professor Akin Abayomi who made this known through a press statement noted that the likelyhood of #COVIDー19 infection in this particular patient was very low & the conclusion of investigations & sophisticated testing confirms that there is no case of Corona Virus in Lagos as of now.
“I would like to reassure Lagosians that our vigilance levels are very high and we are putting more measures in place to safe guard the State”, Prof Akin Abayomi said.
While giving details of the investigation, Prof Akin Abayomi explained that the Ministry of Health’s attention was drawn to a suspected case of Corona Virus at Reddington Lagos Hospital; a private health facility located at Ikeja.
“From our investigation, we gathered that a Chinese citizen who arrived in Nigeria from China 7 weeks ago presented at the Hospital yesterday complaining about fever”
“The hospital in keeping with the advisory we earlier issued, correctly maintained a high index of suspicion, isolated the patient and reported the case to the Lagos State Ministry of Health (@LSMOH)”
“We took up the case, transferred the patient to the State Isolation Unit at the Mainland hospital which is our specialised infectious disease hospital. His blood samples were taken to the Virology laboratory for analysis and it came out negative”, the Commissioner said.
Prof Akin Abayomi appealed to citizens to refrain from posting unverified news that can cause unnecessary anxiety in community.
He urged citizens to disregard any information about #COVIDー19 that does not emanate from official communication channels of his office.
Those who know Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, The Honorable Minister Of State, Mines And Steel Development, can attest to the fact that he is hard working, peace loving, kind hearted and extremely generous. In the year 2012, Dr. Ogah cleared 6 Months salary of the academic staffs of Abia State University to enabled them call off their strike and resume duty. In the year 2013, Dr. Ogah sponsored the state organized empowerment program of about 350 youths of Abia and donated Golf/Sienna car to each person.
Dr. Ogah built a state of the art auditorium, fully Air-conditioned and fully equipped for Abia State University.
Apart from schools, churches and homes for the less privileged that Dr. Ogah has built within Abia State, he singlehandedly developed a community in Uturu and provided all the amenities to detail. He went ahead to build the biggest industrial cluster across the East of Niger in Abia State.
Dr. Ogah is noted to be the second highest employer of labor in Abia after the state Govt. Abians benefiting from Dr. Ogah’s empowerment are countless.
As I said the other day, his story is unique because he may not be amongst the ten richest persons from Abia state, he is simply a giver and a man with the milk of human kindness.
With this enviable record and commitment to serve the people he came into Abia politics and those whose reason for joining politics is to enrich themselves and impoverish the people went into frenzy. They aligned themselves against him because given the opportunity to handle executive power in his state, his performance will expose their wickedness against the people.
Since the day he joined politics they have been having nightmares. They have continued to fight him as though their lives depend on him not coming to power. They have thrown all manner of dirty things at him in an effort to destroy his reputable image because his record is too outstanding for them to deal with. For them it has become a project that must be accomplished and they are not leaving any stone unturned.
Few days ago they came with a rehearse of their old song of Dr. Uche Ogah being involved in one case that must be investigated. To tell you how stupid they are, they created a faceless organization and sent a petition in a matter that was long quashed by a court of competent jurisdiction, years before now. They are even ashamed of themselves, to the extent that they are hiding behind a faceless organization instead of coming boldly to be identified. That is how low they have gone in their determination to bring Ogah down.
Unfortunately for them, another failure awaits them.
In any case, it is expected of evil minded, low thinking characters to attack his image. He is a shining star and the good people of Abia have continued to repose confidence in him. Even as a Minister of the Republic he is making Abia people proud and these primitive political opponents are dying out of envy. He has continued to do good to as many as he can. And recently he trained over one thousand Abia indigenes who are about to be empowered with money to go into businesses.
Hence, some political charlatans are in severe pain because once again they have been exposed by his commitment to the people.
Dr. Uche Ogah is ahead of them. The story they are using to mischeracterize him has long been thrown into the dustbin of history. But for clarity sake, presented below is the exact account of what transpired between Masters Energy and a greedy client who wanted to reap what she did not sow but was stopped in her wake by the law of the land. Although Dr. Uche Ogah’s political enemies are trying to make a political capital out of it, he has remained ahead of them by being open and law abiding in all his conduct.
He is no longer in the service of Masters Energy but records must be made available so that those who are intent on tarnishing his image can see through their foolishness.
Sometime ago before Dr Uche Ogah thought of entering politics, one Mrs Bridget Adeosun, a Director of Mut-Hass Petroleum Ltd was introduced to Masters Energy Oil & Gas Ltd as a struggling lady who has interest in Oil and Gas sector but does not possess the necessary capacities including having facilities like Storage Tank to consummate a business transaction her company had with Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency that gives Permit to import fuel into the country.
On the 2nd of February, 2011, the said Mrs Bridget Adeosun, a director of Mut-Hass Petroleum Nigeria Ltd requested Masters Energy through a letter from her Company that Masters should execute an Agreement – ThroughPut Agreement through which Masters Energy will confirm that they will be ready to offer a space in their Depot to store her petroleum products if the company is given allocation to import the petroleum product.
Mastets Energy replied to her letter by acceding to her request that they shall offer the storage facility to the intended product whenever the permit is granted to her by the Ministry of Petroleum Resources. In addition, Masters Energy executed the ThroughPut Agreement dated 10th of February, 2011.

This said ThroughPut Agreement was submitted to DPR by Mut-Hass Ltd for issuance of the permit and thereafter on the 10th of May, 2011, DPR wrote to Masters Energy for confirmation of the ThroughPut Agreement and on the 11th of May, 2011 Masters Energy wrote to confirm the ThroughPut Agreement.

On the 12th of April, 2011, Mrs Bridget Adeosun returned to Masters Energy with a Permit to Import 10,000 metric tons of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) issued to Mut-Hass Petroleum by PPRA.

Upon receipt of the Permit from PPRA, Mut-Hass Ltd through Mrs Adeosun complained of her inability to fund the transaction due to lack of funds and experience. She therefore offered to transfer to Masters Energy Ltd the entire interest of her company in the Allocation for an agreed sum of N=26,820,000(Twenty-Six Million, Eight Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira only) calculated at N=2.00 per litre, as full and final consideration for the transaction.
6. The Agreement(MOU) in which she transferred all the company’s interest in the Allocation to Masters Energy Ltd is available for inspection.

Mrs B. Adeosun deposited these cheques in an account she opened at ECO bank, where she is a sole signatory.
Further to this memorandum of understanding wherein all the interests in the allocation was passed to Masters Energy Ltd, requisite and ancillary documents such as Account Opening Forms, Company Resolution for Account Opening were duly executed by officers of Mut-Hass
Petroleum Ltd to the benefit of Masters Energy Ltd. THIS PROCEDURE WAS NECESSITATED BY THE FACT THAT THE TRANSACTION COULD ONLY BE EXECUTED THROUGH THE BANK ACCOUNT OF THE COMPANY IN WHOSE NAME THE PERMIT WAS ISSUED.
On 4th August, 2011, Masters Energy Oil and Gas Ltd made payment for the said 10, 000 metric tons of PMS through Mut-Hass UBA Account opened for the purpose of the transaction via the establishment of a Letter of Credit(L/C).
On the 6th of September, 2011 the imported product was delivered into Masters Energy storage tanks and was certified by relevant government agencies.
The Sovereign Debt Note for payment of the cost under-recovery (otherwise called subsidy) was issued on 15th November, 2011 by the Federal Government to Masters Energy in the name of Mut-Hass Petroleum Limited (being the name in which the import permit was issued). The value of the Sovereign Debt Note was supposed to be utilized by Masters Energy to offset part of the cost of the importation.
Due to the delay in the payment on the Sovereign Debt Note by Federal Government of Nigeria, the transaction incurred some foreign exchange differentials occasioned by Dollar rate fluctuation as at the time of importation valued at N=51,884,,159.95(Fifty one million, eight hundred and eighty four thousand, one hundred and fifty nine Naira, ninety five kobo).
Masters Energy applied to the Government for the differentials in the foreign exchange transaction. Surprisingly, it was discovered that Mrs Bridget Adeosun through Mut-Hass Ltd had written to Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency(PPPRA) requesting that the accrued interest and foreign currency differentials be paid to her company on a transaction she has no interest after transferring all her rights and liabilities to Masters Energy Ltd.
Masters Energy was shocked. It was also found that the said woman had purportedly passed a Board Resolution through her company to change the SIGNATURE OF THE UBA ACCOUNT BY ADDING HERSELF AS AN “A” SIGNATORY IN PREPARATION FOR THE MONEY(the accrued interest and foreign exchange differentials) the Federal Government was to pay to the importing company which by agreement is Masters Energy Ltd even though payment will still be made in the name of Mut-Hass Ltd.
Masters Energy initiated action immediately to stop the Federal Government from paying her company the said money, as the said sum rightly belonged to Masters Energy Oil & Gas Ltd.
The court in Abuja issued an injunction against the payment and directed that the money should be deposited with the Registrar of the Court in an interest yielding account of any reputable Bank.

When Masters Energy succeeded in obtaining this Court Order against Mut-Hass Ltd, heaven was let loose.
Driven by an unprecedented greed and avarice ever exhibited by any human being, Mrs Bridget Adeosun literally got mad and wrote petitions upon petitions to all the Security Agencies in Nigeria alleging “forgery” of her signature and that of other directors in all the agreements she signed, including the Board Resolutions authorizing Masters Energy to run the UBA Account of Mut-Hass Ltd for the purpose of this particular transaction
All the security agencies investigated the said allegation and found no substance in it. However, Inspector General of Police initiated a criminal charge but When the Police saw the futility of the charge and knowing their inability to secure any conviction with the alleged frivolous charge, they withdrew the charge immediately and UP TILL NOW THERE IS NO OTHER CRIMINAL CASE IN COURT AGAINST DR. OGAH OR HIS COMPANY CONCERNING THIS FALSE ALLEGATION.

Two important posers to puncture her allegation of forgery are as follows:
1. The sum of N=26,820,000(Twenty-Six Million, Eight Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira) which Mrs Bridget Adeosun collected from Masters Energy Company and which she receipted, was for what purpose?
2. If she is alleging that the UBA Account operated was fraudulent and its documents forged by Masters Energy company, how come the same woman who allegedly knew nothing about the said Account got her company to pass a Board Resolution in which she wanted to become the “A” signatory in preparation to have control of the anticipated differentials the Federal Government was about to pay to Mut-Hass Ltd being the importing company of the PMS?
CONSCIENCE is an open wound, only truth can heal it.
Dr. Uche Ogah’s bother to always explain issues is born out of respect for his people. That is an exceptional behavior in our political clime. Those behind this new mudslinging as usual will suffer fatal failure. Let them come open and bear the shame of their envy against God’s anointed.

The Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has been elected Deputy Chairman of the PDP GOVERNORS’ FORUM.
He was unanimously elected at the meeting of the Forum which took place Wednesday night at the Sokoto State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.
According to a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Onyebuchi Ememanka, Chairman of the forum, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State and the PDP National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus announced the election of Governor Ikpeazu while addressing newsmen at the end of the meeting.
A 36-year-old woman identified as Ann Grace Aguti has found herself a trending topic on social media when she did the unusual by getting married to three men and allocating them three out of the seven tiny huts in her compound.
The actions of the woman who is from Amugagara, Kumel in Mukura sub-county, Ngora district is reported to have incurred the wrath of her father, Pastor Peter Ogwang who is popularly known as Ikwenyar of Christ Foundation Ministries. He was upset by her action that he is said to have mobilised clan members to intervene, saying the practice is unacceptable in the Teso community.
Aguti who is a mother of three defended her actions as she said she was married like other women. Her desire in her marriage was to have a “tender, loving husband, who can provide all my needs as a housewife.” When her husband wasn’t meeting that need, she said she decided to do things her way. She told New Vision:
“My husband was useless and I remained the breadwinner. When I left him, I started looking for that special someone, but I have not yet found him because even now, I have to feed the men that I have. So, my search continues.”
Her search led her to a number of men who became her husbands, living in her house and taking turns to sleep with her. Then, she met another man who she brought home after which she chased all her other husbands “due to lack of discipline”. She later brought two other men home, making them three husbands.
The three men; Richard Alich, a widower and retired police officer who is a father to 10 grown-up children, John Peter Oluka, a fairly well-off peasant, who has a home in the same village. and Michael Enyaku, a senior bachelor, who also has land and a home in another village. The men told Sunday Vision that they have no problem with the arrangement. According to them, they regard Aguti as the head of the family, dine together during meals and obey her instructions, including observing the conjugal rights roster.
Speaking on how he met Aguti, Alich said it was when Aguti was returning home from Brac Uganda, Ngora branch, where she had gone to process a loan. He said:
“Her bicycle had developed a mechanical problem, so I offered to repair it. In the process, one thing led to another and I found myself here. I stay in that hut.”
Oluka who is from the same village as Aguti said he knew she had other men. He said “I met her at a swamp where I was grazing my cows and joked about her taking me on as a husband too — and that was it. She allocated me a hut. We have lived harmoniously for close to a year now. I have no problem with my co-husbands. The consensus among us is that mummy (Aguti) determines the duty (sex) roster and her decision is final.”
Enyaku who believes he is the favourite of the husbands said: “When I came to her home, I found other men already husbanding her, but she chased them away because she reserves the right to admit anyone of her choice. I also strongly believe her pregnancy is mine.”
Aguti who does not want to be seen as the village whore has this to say: “I was married before in a manner my clansmates want. But my desire is to have a tender loving husband, who can provide all my needs as a housewife. My husband was useless and I remained the breadwinner. When I left him, I started looking for that special someone, but I have not yet found him because even now, I have to feed the men that I have. So, my search continues!”
Marrying three husbands has not been a bed of roses for Aguti as she has survived death from a jealous lover who attempted to cut her neck with a sickle. Her father, Ogwang believes she is risking her life ‘husbanding’ three men. According to him, they were four but in December last year, Sam Otim was dismissed from her compound after he tried to kill her in a jealous rage.
In a bid to put an end to the unusual behaviour, Ogwang sought the help of his clan and LC1 committee, who met last week to plot a way forward. They agreed to expel the men from her house by arresting them but were met with resistance. Defending her decisions to her father, Aguti said: “Dad, I am an adult with a home. It is my right to have the three men who, fortunately, understand each other,” Aguti declared before asking: “Who among you, dad inclusive, will take me as a wife now that you are chasing away my husbands?”
That was an abominable suggestion because one is not allowed to marry from the same clan.
Ogwang first tried to charm his incensed daughter into reasoning.
“My daughter, listen. I am worried about you as your father. Do you remember Ejuge and how we struggled to save your life? How we apprehended him as he tried to slaughter you with a sickle? What if we had killed him! How would we have handled the retribution from his relatives?” he asked.
Ogwang also reminded her of the time her fourth and fifth husbands, Otim and John Ebwaare, violently clashed before Otim turned his anger on Aguti. However, Aguti refused to be cowed.
She told the clansmates that when she returned home after her marriage in Asamuk, Amuria failed, her father gave her land on which to build. She said she understood that gesture to mean that the land was hers and that whatever happens in her compound was none of her father’s business.
Ogwang, however, says none of the husbands living with her has officially been introduced to him. Not only that, he also said the way his daughter is acquiring loans from financial institutions, such as Brac Uganda and village SACCOs, while using the land as security, is dangerous, yet the money she gets ends up. catering for her husbands’ welfare.
“In case you default, the banks will take my land, not knowing that it does not belong to you,” Ogwang said. “Any man who wants to live with you should come with his relatives to officially introduce himself to me.”
The LC1 chairperson, Robert Oboi, had the final word. He said he supported the eviction of the men from Aguti’s home.
“As the local authority in the area, none of these men have been introduced to me. In case of any crime in this area, especially theft or even murder, they will be the first suspects,” he said.
The Ikarebwo-Ikaalen clan chairperson, who doubles as the area LC2 chairperson, Christopher Opolot, said he was shocked that Aguti had broken a territory none had ever gone to — marrying several men at a go in the same compound.
“What example are you setting for our daughters?” he asked.
The local council and clan ruled that each of the men returns to their respective villages. They were also told that if they want to return as husbands, they should come officially with identification and introduce themselves to the local authorities at Amugagara.
Upon that statement, Aguti wailed: “My dear husbands, I love you so much. I am not the one chasing you, but your father-in-law and his clan. Please do not forget me wherever you go. You have been my pillars in this large home of ours. Please keep checking on me because I may die of loneliness in the house.”
The three men left, vowing to return after getting the required credentials. And it was not a joke. Last week, Enyaku returned with duly signed letters and by the time of filing this story, he had re-settled with Aguti.
Aguti is currently six months pregnant with her fourth child. She earns a living by selling cooked cow trotters (emolokony). It is not clear who the father of her pregnancy is because Enyaku is not the only one claiming responsibility.

The Enugu Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arraigned one Ikechukwu Prospect Onyeka, before Justice Onuoha A.K. Ogwe, of the Abia State High Court, Umuahia, on a two count charge of impersonation and obtaining by false pretence.
Onyeka was alleged to have posed as a staff of EFCC, offering to help a complainant bring an end to his case, if he would pay him some money.
The petitioner in a statement signed by the Acting Head, Media and Publicity the commission, Tony Orilade and made available to ABN TV on Wednesday disclosed that he became suspicious of the defendant knowing that the EFCC brings professionalism and integrity of the EFCC in carrying out its duties. When the petitioner contacted the EFCC, he was advised to play along with the defendant while a trap was set for him by the Commission. He was arrested when he went to his bank to cash the sum sent to his account as bait.
The offences according to the charges are contrary to Section 484 of the Criminal Code Law, CAP 80, Law of Abia State of Nigeria, 2005, and punishable under Section 484 of the same law and Section 8 (b) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act No.14 of 2006 and punishable under Section 1 (3) of the same Act, respectively.
The suspect pleaded not guilty to the charges while Justice Onuoha adjourned till April 2 and 9 for commencement of trial. He ordered the defendant to be remanded in Umuahia correctional facility.
