I Can Marry My Mother’s Agemate – Nollywood Actor, Pitakwa

3

Nollywood actor, Don Charles Mmaduka, also known as ‘Pitakwa’, has revealed his plans for marriage and choice of a woman.

In an interview with Dailypost, the Anambra-born actor said that he would not give it a second thought, should he find love in someone who might be in the same age bracket with his biological mother.

“Attraction is paramount to me in a relationship and for me, it is completely not age-dependent,” he said

“I can marry a woman in the same age bracket with my mother, I kid you not! It’s all in the attraction and I must add that I’m more mentally attracted to ladies than I am physically attracted to them; and by mental attraction, I mean a lady’s intellectual capacity,” he said.

Speaking further, Mmaduka, who started his acting career officially in 2014 after the role he played in ‘5 Days of War’, where he also got the name Pitakwa, stated that he wants a mentally mature woman who can easily satisfy his emotional needs in a marriage.

“Attraction is an emotion beyond humans’ control. It does not matter the age and so, age shouldn’t be seen as barrings in a beautiful relationship that could blossom into a model and happy home.

“Age is just really a number to me and has nothing to do with compatibility and satisfaction for me.

“A woman twice my age who fits into the descriptions in my bucket list for a life partner, I will marry without a second thought.

“I love brilliant and intelligent women. Smartness in a woman who has a positive mental attitude and good character is everything.

“It’s all about the compatibility, maturity and satisfaction for me. And as you know, these factors are not determined by age.

“Relationships are about the real connection between two people who are in love, understand each other, and not numbers!” he concluded.

Criminals Killed One Policeman, Injured Others With Heavy Machete Cut, Carted 3 AK47 – Abia CP

1

Abia State Commissioner of Police, CP Janet E. Agbede has insisted that criminal elements who have hand in killing of policeman in Abia will not go unpunished.

This is even as the Commissioner urged all medical practitioners, including traditional health officers within and outside the state to report individuals with bullet wounds.

The CP during a press briefing on Friday was reacting to the attack on 5 mobile policemen attached to 28 and 55 Squadrons at Okagwe Ohafia on Monday 7th September, 2020 by armed men numbering about 30.

ABN TV gathered that one Inspector Princewill Divine lost his life during the attack while another policeman had his wrist cut off as the hoodlums fled with their rifles and ammunition.

The CP said the press conference became necessary in order to put the record straight, adding that four persons arrested are helping the command in the investigation of the circumstances surrounding the attack.

“It would be recalled that on September 7, 2020 at about 0130hrs, five Police Mobile Force personnel attached to 28 and 55 Squadrons in the command deployed to a nipping point at Okagwe Junction Ohafia came under attack by about 30 yet to be identified gun men. This incident took place in a Bus Stop pavilion located at the nipping point where the Policemen went in to take shelter during a heavy rain fall.

“The criminals, armed with guns, machetes and other dangerous weapons unexpectedly shot at the policemen and cruelly used machetes on the policemen who in-turn retaliated. One of the policemen, Inspector Princewill Divine died instantly, another had his wrist cut off while others were left with varying degrees of injury.

“The hoodlums who might have sustained bullet wounds, carted away three AK47 rifles with some ammunition.

“However, four persons arrested in connection with the incident are helping in the investigation to ensure further arrests and recovery of Police firearms.

“Having personally visited the scene, the victims and the neighbouring communities, I hereby appeal to Medical practitioners, all hospitals, trado-medical practitioners and the general public within and outside Abia State to report any person seen or presented with bullet wound(s) to the Police or any nearest security agency” CP Agbede said.

Judge Orders P&ID To Pay Nigeria Over £1.5 million

0

A United Kingdom judge has ordered P&ID to make an interim payment of more than £1.5 million to Nigeria within 21 days to cover legal costs the country incurred as part of its successful application for the extension of time to challenge the arbitration award of $9.6 billion to the company.

The judge gave the order on Thursday when Nigeria appeared before it in a hearing held to decide procedural and costs issues relating to the FRN’s applications to challenge the arbitration award and to determine the short-term directions to trial.

This latest order follows the major victory it secured on Friday last week when the court allowed the country to bring a fraud challenge against a $9.6 billion arbitration award obtained by vulture-fund-backed P&ID well outside the normal time limits.

“This is another crucial win for Nigeria in our ongoing fight against the vulture-fund-backed P&ID,” a spokesperson for the Attorney General of the Federation said in a statement announcing the latest development.

“We are pleased that the English Courts have taken our fraud challenge seriously, and awarded us a substantial interim payment in respect of our successful application for an extension of time to challenge the award.”

With the order, Nigeria will now proceed to a full fraud trial, in its quest to avoid paying the arbitration award which is estimated to be one-third of the national budget.

The Nigerian government considers the order a “significant blow” to P&ID as will help speed up the trial and halt what it says are attempts by the company to delay the process.

“To date, P&ID and its financial backer VR Capital have not produced a single document or credible witness to challenge the FRN’s fraud evidence,” it said of the attempts.

“Instead, they continue to resort to disseminating misleading claims, while taking every step possible to delay or obstruct our investigations across multiple jurisdictions.”

The Nigerian government has maintained over time that the contract that led to the arbitration was fraudulent and that it would work relentlessly to overturn it.

After securing two favourable court decisions, it restated the commitment to overturning “the injustice”, saying it “will not rest until we secure justice for the people of Nigeria – no matter how long it takes.  Investigations into the GSPA are ongoing, and we are confident that more of the truth will be revealed over the coming months.”

P&ID, a firm based in the British Virgin Islands, won a $9.6 billion arbitration award against the Nigerian government after the 2010 gas project collapsed.

The award accrued interest since 2013 and is now worth more than $9 billion.

However, Nigeria on September 3, secured a landmark victory in its pursuit to overturn a $10 billion judgment awarded against it in a case against P&ID in a failed gas deal in 2010.

Ross Cranston, a judge of the Business and Property Courts of England and Wales, granted Nigeria’s application for an extension of time and relief from sanctions, in the nation’s bid to overturn a $10 billion judgement awarded against it.

El-Rufai Not Ready For Genuine Peace – SOKAPU

1

The Southern Kaduna People’s Union, SOKAPU, has alleged that Governor Nasir el-Rufai was not ready for peace in the state.

The union observed that until the governor tenders apology to Southern Kaduna people and the elders over his derogatory comments against them, it will be taken that the peace process of the government is a ruse.

Reacting to the Peace Summit recently organized by the Nigeria Christians Pilgrim Commission, NCPC, in Southern Kaduna, SOKAPU’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Luka Binniyat said that Southern Kaduna leaders are always ready to participate in a genuine peace process in the state.

The governor, the statement explained, decided to initiate the peace summit as a face-saving measure, stressing that this is after he had called the leaders names and openly supported the Fulani herdsmen against their people in Southern Kaduna.

It said that the people are not against the peace summit, saying that what is happening in Southern Kaduna under the government of President Muhammadu Buhari is strange as the rural communities are being taken over by Fulani militia who are killing their people.

SOKAPU alleged that since 2015, attacks were targeted at Christian communities, saying that President Buhari and Governor El-Rufai are not saying the truth.

The statement observed that the Federal and Kaduna State governments are only trying to save their faces under intense criticism over the genocide and other atrocities.

It said Kidnapping of Christians in Chikun and Kajuru has taken over N400 million paid as ransom to the Fulani kidnappers, adding that there is no week this year that pastors were not kidnapped or killed.

SOKAPU noted that under a genuine peace process, the organizers should have called those directly affected by the crisis and the perpetrators of the violence for discussion and arrive at a true peace accord.

The statement alleged that the people who were displaced are still living under sub-human conditions with no representatives of the victims and those who perpetrated the violence were not there, stressing that they only brought the intellectuals, government officials and their party men.

So, there is the need to know them. They are inviting communities as observers. That is not how to bring about enduring peace. If you are talking about a genuine peace process, you have to bring the victims and those who perpetrated the atrocities together. How can there be peace if the more than 50,000 people displaced cannot go back to their homes and communities. How can there be peace if the invaders are still occupying the communities,” SOKAPU observed.

“This Is Evil” – Buhari’s Aide, Onochie Asks Police To Take Action Against Ibiyeomie Over Daddy Freeze Saga

2

Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Social media, Lauretta Onochie has reacted to Pastor David Ibiyeomie’s attack on a popular On-Air Personality (OAP), Daddy Freeze.

Onochie took to her official Twitter account on Friday to condemn Ibiyeomie’s threats to kill Freeze.

She also called out the Nigeria Police Force to take action against Ibiyeomie, describing the pastor’s action as ‘evil’.

DAILY POST recalls that it all started when Freeze criticized Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church for saying women should submit to their husbands.

Reacting, Ibiyeomie called the media personality a bastard, threatening to kill him.

In a viral video from his last Sunday’s service, the Port Harcourt-based Pastor threatened to deal with Freeze.

He also cursed the day Freeze was born.

And reacting to the development, Onochie tweeted: “THIS IS EVIL. I am a Christian. I have been watching this absurdity for days now, looking for any attribute of Christ in it. I haven’t seen any.

“Among others, threatening to kill someone is a crime. I’m not sure if this requires a petition to the @PoliceNG before they act. EVIL!”

I Drink Cow Urine Everyday – Bollywood Actor

1

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has revealed that he drinks cow urine daily, joining a growing number of Indians who believe it has medicinal benefits – including against the coronavirus.

Kumar is considered a staunch supporter of Hindu nationalist Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s party, which has earmarked millions of dollars for research into products using bovine waste to cure diseases like diabetes and cancer.

There is no comprehensive scientific evidence of any medicinal benefits, but several politicians from Modi’s right-wing ruling party have advocated using the dung and urine to cure coronavirus.

The 53-year-old actor was promoting his appearance on a show with British television adventurer Bear Grylls, in which they drink tea made from elephant dung in an Indian tiger reserve.

“I was too excited to be worried. I have cow urine because of ayurvedic reasons every day, so that was okay,” Kumar said on a social media live chat posted Thursday.

Many Hindus believe cows are sacred and drink its urine for medicinal benefits.

Modi’s government created a ministry of Ayurveda and yoga, with Modi suggesting in June that yoga could help create a “protective shield” against the novel coronavirus.

COVID-19 has infected 4.6 million people in India and killed 76,000.
