Tinubu Denies Sponsoring #ENDSWAT Protests
Tunde Rahman, the spokesman of Bola Tinubu, a national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says it is incorrect to say his principal is among the sponsors of the #EndSARS protest.
In a statement on Saturday, Rahman said Tinubu could not have sponsored a protest that is affecting the economy of Lagos state.
He added that it is impossible for the APC chieftain to sponsor the protest in all the states where it has occurred.
“There is a need to set the facts and record straight for fear that such a fake story may be taken on its face value by some unwary and gullible persons,” Rahman said.

“Asiwaju Tinubu could not have sponsored the #EndSARS protest that has blocked one of the main entries into and out of Lagos and one of the economic arteries of the Lagos State Government. He could also not have sponsored such a protest where he too has been labeled a target by the organizers.
“Secondly, whereas Asiwaju Tinubu believes in the right of Nigerians to freedom of expression, assembly, and protest where and when necessary, he has always canvassed the need for people to explore peaceful channels to ventilate their views and demands.
“He believes the #EndSARS protesters have made their demands, which the Federal Government is studying. Like most Nigerians, Asiwaju believes that SARS’ brutality and untoward conduct against innocent youths and other Nigerians have gone on for too long and that security outfit ought to be disbanded as demanded by the protesters.
“Asiwaju Tinubu believes it’s now time for our youths to wait, exercise restraint for dialogue and reform to commence. It is therefore the height of illogicality to ascribe the sponsorship of the protest to Asiwaju. The sponsors of this fake news forget that the protest is so widespread and cuts across the country.”
Trump Will Run Again In 2024 If…., Says Ex-WH Strategist
Former White House Strategist Steve Bannon says US President, Donald Trump will run for re-election in 2024 if he loses the presidential race to Joe Biden next month.
Even if he fails to win a second White House term, Bannon told The Australian, ‘You’re not going to see the end of Donald Trump.’
Bannon, who was recently arrested for federal money-laundering and fraud, added that he believed the November 3 election was ‘closer than is being reported’, and said ‘Trump will win on election day’.
‘I’ll make this prediction right now: if for any reason the election is stolen from or in some sort of way Joe Biden is declared the winner, Trump will announce he’s going to run for re-election in 2024,’ he told the outlet.
Bannon also predicted the election result will go to the Supreme Court and may even be conferred to the House of Representatives in January, saying the outcome will be contentious and ‘won’t be settled anytime soon’.
Bannon’s latest comments cast a slightly more pessimistic tone to remarks made just days ago during a speech in front of the Young Republican Federation, in which he resolutely stated that not only will Trump win on November 3, but he’ll secure victory very early.
‘At 10 o’clock or 11 o’clock… on November 3, Donald J. Trump is going to walk into the Oval Office, and he may hit a tweet before he goes in there… and he’s going to sit there, having won Ohio, and being up in Pennsylvania and Florida, and he’s going to say, “Hey, game’s over”, Bannon, Trump’s 2016 campaign CEO, told the crowd.

‘The elites are traumatized. They do not want to go stand in line and vote. That, ladies and gentlemen, is a game-changer,’ Bannon continued. ‘It [the decisive factor] is what electorate shows up to vote on a vote that can be certified. That’s a vote that counts. And right now, what they [Trump critics] don’t want to talk about, is Donald J. Trump leads on people who are actually going to show up and vote on November 3, by 21 percent.’
Peace Returns To Abia Community After Killing Of 2 Soldiers
Peace has finally returned to the rich Owaza community in Ukwa West local Government Area of Abia state after the killing of two soldiers in the area caused crisis which saw many residents flee their homes following a military invasion of the community.
The peace efforts was brokered by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen. Tukur Buratai, the senator representing Abia South in the Senate, Enyinnaya Abaribe, his House of Representatives counterpart for Ukwa federal constituency, Uzoma Abonta, and leaders of the Owaza community.
It should be recalled that members of the oil-rich community have been on the run for over two weeks following the killing of two soldiers and snatching of their riffles in Okorhia-Uzuaku community, also in Ukwa West LGA same as Owaza.
The incident as gathered made soldiers attached to the 144 battalion of the Nigerian Army, Asa, Ukwa West LGA besiege the oil-rich community, arresting people in search of the guns of their murdered colleagues.
The people lamented that the killing which never took place in Owaza has brought untold hardship on them, leading to the death of five persons who were running and trying to escape from the massive arrest by the army.
Speaking to Journalists, HRH Eze Obioma Nworgu, Eze-Oha-1 of Etitioha-Owaza, condemned the killing of the soldiers by unknown men and specifically thanked Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen Tukur Buratai for hearing the cries of Owaza people.
Eze Nworgu also thanked the Senator representing Abia South Senatorial Zone, Enyinnaya Abaribe, and Member Representing Ukwa-East and Ukwa-West Federal Constituency, Hon. Uzoma Abonta for the role they played in speaking with the military hierarchies in Abuja.
He said that his people have always lived peacefully with the military for many years and will never contemplate any act they will bring about breakdown of law and order not to talk of trying to kill the same committed soldiers that are protecting them.
Eze Nworgu also expressed his gratitude to Maj-Gen. Lasisi Adegboye, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, Enugu, and military authorities at the 14 Brigade Ohafia and the 144 Battalion, Asa for the free medical treatment and palliatives given to the people just after peace returned to the area.
He said “We’re happy they came with the surprised package giving us palliatives and Medical treatments. This means that they are cooperating with us and we’ll continue to support them.
“I appreciate them for granting my request. We’ll work with them to ensure that the guns are recovered. We shall also look into ourselves and correct every mistake where necessary”.
“We can’t allow anything that can attract such things here again. I also thank the state for their own effort,” he said.
A community stakeholder, Comrade Onyemachi Dimgba said that his people are not happy over the whole incident, but are grateful to their king HRH Eze Obioma Nworgu for making a serious move that brought peace back to Owaza.
He lamented that aside from the deaths already recorded, several other persons are still injured in the hospital while trying to escape for their dear lives.
He said; “In all, we say to God be the glory. He used our King (Eze Nworgu) who took a drastic step to Abuja to meet our representatives who responded adequately and pleaded with the military authorities to bring peace back to us.
“Our thanks go to both our King and our Federal Representatives. We’re grateful to our Senator and Federal Constituency Representative. The army gave him an award as a peaceful king.
“He’s a peacemaking king and the award he received is a testimony of that. We’re also happy with the state because we have no choice.
”This community is lacking a lot. The Army brought free Medical treatment here. They treated people and our people are back home.
“They also gave us palliatives. We’re grateful to them. We commend them and we shall continue to cooperate with our army because they’re helping us to make here safe.”

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently meeting with the leaders of the National Assembly over the ongoing protests against the scrapped Special Anti-Robbery Unit of the Nigeria Police Force.
Those attending the meeting holding inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja with the President are the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan; and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila.
The Personal Assistant to the President on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, disclosed this in a message he posted on his Twitter handle, @BashirAhmaad.
“President @MBuhari currently meeting with Senate President, @DrAhmadLawan and Speaker, @femigbaja on the ongoing #EndPoliceBrutality protests,” he wrote.

We’ll Use Our Local Hunters To Protect Ourselves If.., Abia Lawmaker Warns Fulani Bandits
The Member representing Bende North constituency of Abia State, Hon. Chijioke Chukwu has called on the Fulani community in the state to call their killer squad who disguise as herdsmen to order.
The lawmaker said if the killing and kidnap of Abians and visitors is not checkmated, the communities will make use of their local hunters to protect themselves.
He expressed anger that parts of Isuikwuato local government and Bende have become a hotbed of criminality, saying about 10 persons have in the past 10 days been kidnapped in the areas.
In a chat with ABN TV on Saturday, Hon. Chukwu called on the state Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, and heads of security agencies to rise to the growing insecurity in the entire state.
According to Hon. Chukwu, kidnap for ransom has become a daily occurrence in his constituency and beyond, warning Fulani community to call their gang of killers to order.
“They must identify the influx of bandits disguising as herdsmen. If nothing is done in the next two weeks, we will involve hunters to defend our communities.
“There has been no pronouncement from the Commissioner of Police, no pronouncement from the Army, no pronouncement from the DSS over their security concerns and it is unacceptable to us,” he said.
He further alleged that a former TC chairman of Isuikwuato was kidnapped and later released after the payment of ransom.

In his response, the Public Relations Officer Abia State Police Command, Ogbonna Geoffrey decried the inability of the community to report kidnap and other criminal cases to the police.
While admitting knowledge of the kidnap of former TC chairman Isuikwuato local government, he denied awareness of any other kidnap that has taken place after then.
According to the Police spokesman, it is not enough to apportion blames that the security agencies are not doing enough, maintaining that the collaboration of the community is important in driving an effective policing system through information volunteering.
Gov Oyetola Breaks Silence On Attack, Says Thugs Sent To Kill Me
Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola has broken his silence on Saturday’s attack on his convoy by armed thugs.
ABN TV had reported Oyetola, his deputy Benedict Alabi and other State executives narrowly escaped death on Saturday when thugs attacked them after addressing #ENDSARS protesters in Osogbo, capital of Osun.
Speaking in a statewide broadcast on Sunday morning, the Governor described the incident as unfortunate and against the Omoluabi ethos.
He said he joined the #EndSARS protesters by marching from Alekuwodo area to meet the protesters at Ola-Iya junction where he addressed them.
“However, the protest was hijacked by thugs who wanted to kill me. We escaped from the scene without shoot or firing teargas to them.

“But after the incident, we gathered that two people died. One of them died as a result of a bike accident.”
He said the attack was politically motivated and targeted at killing him and other executive members of the state.

Gov Obiano Storms Awkuzu SARS Station, Frees Detainees [VIDEO]
The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano stormed the premises of the defunct Awkuzu SARS on Saturday and set three citizens who were unlawfully detained in the infamous facility free, ABN TV reports.
Obiano’s visit was a fulfillment of his promise to Nigerian youths who had staged a peaceful protest at the Government House, Awka two days ago.
The three detainees who hailed from Enugu and Plateau states were quite excited at the sudden turn of events that had led to their immediate regaining of freedom.
Governor Obiano also used the opportunity to shore up the moral of the officers and men of the Anambra Police Command.
“Do not be demoralized by the recent developments,” he said while thanking them for working so hard to make Anambra the safest state in the federation.
He was accompanied by the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr Mrs Uju Nworgu and the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr John Abang.

BREAKING: Army Launches Exercise Crocodile Smile As #ENDSARS Protests Linger
As Nigerians protest against police brutality, maltreatment, extra-judicial killings, and abuse of power must especially by the operatives of Special anti-robbery Squad, SARS, Nigerian army, Saturday promised to launch ‘exercise Crocodile smile’, an operation that would assist in identifying terrorists in the country.
Billed to commence on 20th of October, the Acting Director Army Public Relations, Sagir Musa in a statement said that the exercise is deliberately intended to be all-encompassing to include cyber warfare exercises designed to identify, track, and counter negative propaganda in the social media and across the cyberspace.
His words: “The Nigerian Army is set to start its annual Exercise CROCODILE SMILE which is traditionally conducted in the last quarter of the year. This year’s Exercise CROCODILE SMILE VI is scheduled to commence from the 20th of October to the 31st of December 2020.
“The Exercise is deliberately intended to be all-encompassing to include cyber warfare exercises designed to identify, track, and counter negative propaganda in the social media and across the cyberspace. This is the first-ever Cyberwarfare exercise to be conducted in the history of the African Armed Forces.
“Accordingly, the exercise will also include positive identification component aimed at identifying Boko Haram terrorists fleeing from the North East and other parts of the country as a result of the ongoing operations in the various theatres of operations especially in the Northeast, North Central and North Western parts of Nigeria.
“The Nigerian Army, once again, reassures all well-meaning Nigerians of its commitment to the sustenance of peace and security in Nigeria and urges members of the public for their support and understanding throughout the period of the exercise.”
