Who’s Next To Die?, 7-Year-Old Boy Asks Dad After Mum And Grandma Died Of COVID-19

0

A 7-year-old boy has attracted sympathy on social media after a video of him asking his dad who’s next to die after his mum and grandma died of COVID-19.

Chris Cadby from Cardiff lost his wife and his mother-in-law, Joan, to the killer bug over the course of four days in April.

After sharing the sad news with his son Evan, 7, the youngster asked who was next.

Speaking to Sky News, Mr Cadby broke down as he spoke about the moment he told his son that his mother and grandmother had died from Coronavirus.

He said, “I had to tell him on Sunday that his nanny had died. I said “Evan”. He said “yeah”. ‘Mummy’s gone to be with nanny. He said “what?” I said: “She’s gone with Nanny, mate.”

‘He just came over and gave me a hug. He had a little cry and in the afternoon he said: “Who’s next, Daddy? Is it going to be you? Or is it going to be me?”

‘I said: “I hope it’s none of us. We don’t want any more, do we?”

Mr Cadby, who gave his wife CPR in an attempt to resuscitate her, later got infected with Coronavirus. His son also tested positive but has not had any symptoms.

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has said that Bola Tinubu, National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, man never actualize his presidential ambition, because of the North.

Kanu warned that Tinubu was wasting his time as the North will frustrate his chances of becoming president.

In his latest broadcast on Radio Biafra, the IPOB leader said the North would mess Tinubu up like they did the former self-acclaimed winner of the 1993 presidential election, MKO Abiola.

According to Kanu, Fulanis don’t trust the Yoruba race enough to allow them to become president.

Tinubu had said: “The next president of Nigeria, of course, is going to come from the North by that time we are gone anyway, Chukwu Abiama willing not out of any strength that we mortals possess.

“They will only use Yoruba for politics, that is the politics in Nigeria. You can say anything about the East, you can say anything about the Igbos but one thing is certain they don’t know how to rig.

“Yoruba must stop what they are doing and embrace the truth and that truth is that everybody must be on their own. I commend Banji Akintoye that registered with a branch in the UN, I welcome what he is trying to do and hopefully from the likes of Akintoye a new breed of Yoruba will emerge that believe in the truth.

Ikpeazu never took oath before Hindu god to mortgage Abia — COS, gives reasons for trial of Barr. Emperor

0

The Chief of Staff to Abia State governor, Dr. A.C.B. Agbazuere has accused one Barr. Emperor Ogbonna of re-sharing a post on his Facebook page that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu went to India and took an oath before a Hindu god to mortgage Abia State.

According to Dr. Agbazuere, Barr. Emperor also made other posts on this, maintaining that Governor Ikpeazu has never visited India all his life and as a law-abiding citizen, he took recourse to the law instead of self-help.

Reacting to a press release issued by the Nigerian Bar Association on Thursday, Dr. Agbazuere said governor Ikpeazu reported this case, which he said is a cybercrime to the Police and the Police arrested Mr. Ogbonna and charged him before the Federal High Court in Umuahia for cybercrime and not terrorism as the information from NBA Aba opines.

My attention has been drawn to a press statement issued by Kunle Edun, the National Publicity Secretary of Nigerian Bar Association on behalf of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) with regard to one Barrister Emperor Ogbonna which has also been published on the front page and page 16 of The Punch Newspaper of today Thursday, April 30, 2020. As Chief of Staff to the Governor who was also mentioned in the press statement, I am compelled to put the records straight to wit:

“The facts put forward by NBA Aba branch which NBA National relied on are copiously false, erroneous, and misleading.

“Paragraphs 1,2 and 3 of the NBA press statement clearly confirm that at least Mr. Ogbonna has accepted that he re-shared a post on his Facebook page that Governor Ikpeazu went to India and took an oath before a Hindu god to mortgage Abia State. He also made other posts on this. Governor Ikpeazu has never visited India all his life and as a law-abiding citizen, he took recourse to the law instead of self-help.

“The Governor reported this case of cybercrime to the Police and the Police arrested Mr. Ogbonna and charged him before the Federal High Court in Umuahia for cybercrime and not terrorism as the misinformation from NBA Aba opines,” he said.

In a release titled Putting The Records Straight, the governor’s Chief of Staff also stated that Barr. Emperor has published other divisive and subversive comments on his Facebook page against President Buhari and the Federal Republic of Nigeria referring to Nigeria as an Islamic Republic, leading to his arrest.

On 28th April 2020, the Federal High Court in Umuahia granted Mr. Ogbonna bail and adjourned the matter to 25th May 2020 for hearing. This is the much involving the Governor and we are ready to prosecute the case. No government official even attended Court on the said 28th April 2020, what more entering the Court premises for any arrest.

“I have asked questions and I understand that the said Emperor Ogbonna was now arrested because he had made other divisive and subversive comments on his Facebook page against President Buhari and the Federal Republic of Nigeria referring to Nigeria as an Islamic Republic, calling for the impeachment of President Muhammadu Buhari, calling for the removal of Northern Nigeria from Nigeria, describing Northern Nigeria as an illiterate population and the biggest problem of Nigeria and inciting comments that Buhari hates the Igbos. How does this concern Governor Ikpeazu or Abia State government officials?

The NBA headquarters and the public can now see that NBA Aba carried their emotions too far and thus misinformed NBA headquarters, hence the unwarranted and manifestly embarrassing press statement. I know that the Nigerian Bar Association leadership will never support crime but I am nonetheless appalled that my NBA could hurriedly issue a press statement on an issue without hearing from the other side, not even a phone call to any official of the Abia State government. This is bad.

“We cannot, however, be blackmailed into abandoning the course of justice.

“No one is above the law and Mr. Ogbonna as a lawyer should have known the consequences of his actions and that Nigeria has a Cyber Crime Act.” he explains.

A popular trado medical practitioner, Dr. Jeremiah Abalaka has berated the federal government for not showing interest in local scientific discovery in the search for the country’s health solutions which he said will earn the country billions of dollars.

Dr. Abalaka also stated that the Nigerian government is spending a whopping N7.2m each year on importation of antiretroviral drugs for the treatment of each HIV patient in the country.

In a video release made available to ABN TV, he expressed regret that patients are subjected to antiretroviral treatment for life, describing the drugs as toxic while also adding that foreign countries who make these drugs available are deceivers who are not interested in a permanent cure for HIV.

Dr. Abalaka who claimed that a few years ago, a young man who had hepatitis C virus infection, a sickness doctor said cannot be treated was cured by him within 5 weeks, a claim he said University of Abuja Teaching Hospital confirmed.

According to him, he has made his medical breakthrough to the government but was ignored.

He also revealed that a foreigner who was diagnosed with HIV and hepatitis C was cured of both ailments in his centre within one week.

He expressed dissatisfaction that with his ability to treat HIV, hepatitis B, and C, the PDP government for 16 years did not give him a listening ear, accusing the current government under APC of repeating the mistakes of PDP.

While maintaining that the government is not interested in a scientific breakthrough in health, he said he is not a masquerade maker, nor uses witchcraft means to cure ailments but scientific reasoning, thinking, and approach.

Hear her: “When it comes to a serious relationship, for now, I don’t have a man. But that doesn’t mean I don’t have a boyfriend. I need an understanding man. I need a man who will love me for who I am and will support my business and all. It’s better if he is rich, handsome, and dark. Who doesn’t like better thing? That is every woman’s prayer. However, I can marry from any tribe. It doesn’t matter if he is Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa; as long as I am happy with him, it’s okay. I can even be a second or third wife, it doesn’t really matter as long as there is true love and happiness.”

The CEO of Label Beauty World, however, lamented the COVID-19 lockdown that has affected her business. “My shop has been on lockdown. There is no movie and no income. Staying at home is even a burden because there is no light to do anything. Things haven’t been easy. I feel very terrible because there’s no money at the moment. The cosmetic goods in my shop are changing colours, and I am losing millions. For now, all I do is sleep, wake up, do some exercises, and then pray. I miss traveling. I am not used to staying in a place. I love working. I just pray this pandemic ends soon,” she bemoaned.

Ease Of Lockdown: Keke NAPEP To Carry 2 Passengers As Abia Pupils Set To Learn From Radio Stations

Ease Of Lockdown: Keke NAPEP To Carry 2 Passengers As Abia Pupils Set To Learn From Radio Stations
Okezie Victor Ikpeazu

Following the ease of lockdown in Abia State after the Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, met with a cross-section of Abia leaders including members of the clergy, commercial transport operators, market unions, medics, and members of the inter-ministerial committee on COVID-19, on Friday tricycle operators, otherwise known as Keke NAPEP are to carry only two passengers at a time as a condition to operate in the state.

Also, the mini buses (Oke Bekee) as part of the conditions to operate will carry not more than 5 passengers at any given time and every one of them must wear a face mask.

For the 14-seater buses and above, it was agreed that only 2 passengers will be allowed per row and in all cases, all of them including the driver must wear their face masks.

These are part of the 7 major issues agreed upon during the deliberation on Friday, says a statement made available to ABN TV.

We have also decided that for now we should keep our school children at home which means all our schools will remain closed but we must reinforce our radio classroom initiatives, which entail learning through radio, an initiative which we have started already. All radio stations in the state will be hooked unto that platform to ensure wider and deeper coverage. Parents are called upon also to exhibit high sense of responsibility in preparing their children to be ready before the radio program which starts at 8am every weekday.

“For our markets, we will meet the leadership of the various markets, and in meeting government, we expect them to raise a team of 17 persons per market that will serve as COVID-19 committee members for their respective markets. The selected 17 persons will meet the Deputy Chief of Staff, Office of the Governor, to try to teach them or sensitize them on some of the imperatives of COVID-19 which include that every shop going forward must have a bucket of running water, that is bucket with tap, and then soap and hand sanitizers. Social distancing must be observed in all our markets. The details and the schedule for the eventual reopening of our markets will be determined only after these 17-man team of each market has met with government through the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff and agreed on same.

“We have also agreed that for now, the leadership of our respective Churches will take responsibility for the conduct and behavior of the laity even as we have agreed that they can worship from this weekend. We are pleased with their conduct before now and we expect that they will continue to maintain the practice of sitting 2 persons per pew. For Churches that don’t have pews, alternate positioning of church members ensuring that we do not have overcrowded churches and places of worship. We have also agreed to run many streams of one hour service each to ensure that all Faithfuls are accommodated and then all churches must close activities on or before 2 pm on worship days.

“For burials, we have noticed that most of our morgues are overburdened as it were and we may have difficulties in our hands if we continue to keep the corpses without burial. In addition to this, preservation may become an issue and we may have avoidable challenges. The government has therefore decided to allow burials since we don’t have any COVID-19 related mortality yet. But the burial events which should hold in the nearest fields must observe social distancing and not have more than 30 persons in attendance.

“If the burial is to hold in a compound, then those who attend must not be more than 10 persons. And for a burial to be allowed, the Church involved will obtain a permit directly from the Office of the Secretary to State Government, or through the Traditional Ruler of the community as the case may be for those who believe in traditional religion. However, such a traditional ruler will need to obtain a permit from the Office of Secretary to the State Government with the leadership of the Local Government Area monitoring such a burial. They have been authorized to disrupt burials that are conducted in flagrant disregard for these directives.

“We are also preparing our civil servants to resume but starting with only schedule officers and their immediate support staff. And when they resume they will only work for alternate days and close office the latest at 3 pm. At no time are we expecting to have more than 20 persons per Ministry during this period?

“The measures above do not in any way affect the subsisting dusk to dawn (6 pm to 6 am) curfew in the state, interstate boundary closure, tricycle, and other commercial transporters will only resume operation after endorsing a memorandum of understanding with the government on the new guidelines.

“Finally, I am very happy and proud to announce to us that just this afternoon, the Ministry of Environment and Abia State Government have signed an agreement with the World Bank for the commencement of the N27.2 billion project in Aba and we expect groundbreaking to take place any moment from now. This project includes the most ambitious water management project ever done in our state with Ngwa Road and other areas expected to be fixed.” the statement read.
