The National leader of the pan Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, Pa Ayo Adebanjo has described President Muhammadu Buhari as a wonderful leader, saying Nigerians should expect more wonders from him in the remaining days of his presidency.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with DAILY INDEPENDENT (not ABN TV), Adebanjo who called for an abolition of the current 1999 constitution, said President Buhari and his officials are using the current constitution to perpetrate several illegalities and injustice, which according to him has resulted in secessionist agitations in the country.

He said the failure of the Buhari administration to run an all-inclusive government and practice True Federalism is responsible for the agitations spearheaded by Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly called Igboho.

According to him “I won’t go into an election again without knowing what type of country I am in. There must be a country first. Is the country one today? The answer is no! Why don’t you allow us to settle that first? Was it not the late John F. Kennedy that said ‘those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent change inevitable?”

“Because the federal government doesn’t want to listen to the voice of reason, that is what is giving birth to agitation for secession by Igboho and Nnamdi Kanu”.

“So, whatever they are doing is to silence all those who want peace. That is why they went and invade Igboho’s house at midnight.

“It is only under this type of constitution that such things will happen. If you suspect him of having some arms, you could have surrounded his house and ensure that he doesn’t go out. Then you show him a warrant of arrest to search the place”.

“But people were sleeping when you attacked them and kill them and after they have died, you know brought out some things and claimed you found it in their house. Can you imagine that in a civilized society?”.

“Buhari is wonderful oooo. Publish it as I said it. Buhari is indeed, a wonderful leader. Nigerians should expect more wonders from him”.

Yoruba socio-political organization, Afenifere, on Wednesday reacted to reports by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, to shut down Nigeria.

Afenifere said it would not be part of the move to shut down Nigeria for one month.

Speaking exclusively with DAILY POST, a highly placed Afenifere chieftain, who wished not to be named, said shutting down Nigeria is not part of its agenda.

He said Afeniefere should not be dragged into such a move to shut down Nigeria.

“I always show solidarity but we will never be part of shutting down Nigeria for one month.

“That is not part of our agenda; If it’s worthy for them, they can shut down the country, but they should not mention us in that kind of thing.

“We don’t want to be part of it because it is certainly not our agenda. We are not in the business of shutting down the country,” he said.

Recall that IPOB had urged Oduduwa and the Middle Belt agitators to join in shutting down Nigeria from October 21.

The separatist group said other ethnic nationalities should join the Igbos in shutting down Nigeria if Nnamdi Kanu is not produced in court during the next adjourned date.
