Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, has said he did not enjoy his last days at Paris Saint Germain.

However, Tuchel insists he doesn’t look back at his time in France with bitterness.

The German was infamously sacked on Christmas Eve in 2020 by PSG before joining Chelsea in January 2021.

Tuchel has also said he is happy to be at Stamford Bridge working in the Premier League.

“What makes me happy at Chelsea? I am happy, very happy. I found a very competitive club in a very competitive league, with a lot of very high-level coaches. And it’s a pleasure to be part of it.

“If these are things that I missed at PSG? I didn’t say that. It was different, but I liked the experience, I liked my players a lot and being in this city.

“Playing at the Parc des Princes was always exceptional. It was a totally positive experience for me. Maybe not the end, given the context, but the two and a half years in Paris were exceptional,” Tuchel told Canal Champions Club.

Court Nullifies Anambra APC Congresses

0

The Anambra State High Court sitting in Awka on Wednesday declared as a nullity, wards, local government, and state congresses held by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in January 2022 in Anambra.

The party had conducted congresses that produced Mr Basil Ejidike as the state chairman. But Justice Ike Ogu of High Court four Awka, who delivered a judgment on the matter, ruled that the exercise contravened initial Interlocutory injunction earlier issued by his court.

Ogu, whose judgment on the suit filed by one Lawrence Emegini and others ruled that the plaintiff’s case succeeded.

The court said that the tenure of wards, local government, and states executives elected during the 2018 congresses in Anambra subsisted.

He noted that whatever congress conducted by APC and its representatives in the state while the tenure of the 2018 elected executives were still running, contravened the order of the court.

He stated that Emeka Ibe-led executives should be allowed to complete their tenure which was illegally terminated.

Mr Chukwuma Agufugo, secretary of APC in the faction loyal to Ibe described the judgment as victory for the rule of law.

Agufugo said that some people had wanted to disorganise the party by attempting to hijack its leadership through the back door, but thanked God that the court had liberated the party.

Chief P.I. Ikwueto(SAN), counsel to the plaintiff said that his clients had been vindicated by the decision of the court.

Mr Chinonso Chinwuba, the counsel of the faction of APC dissolved by the judgment, said they would study the judgment and know the next line of action to take.

“We will file notice of appeal and stay of execution. The judge erred in law and it will be set aside at the appeal,” he said.

2023: Igbo Cannot Accept Second Fiddle, Presidency Or Nothing, Says Sir Udensi

Chikwe Udensi

Interpol Systems Consultant, Sir Chikwe Udensi has backed Ohanaeze Ndigbo in its position that Igbo cannot accept the office of the nation’s Vice President in 2023, saying it’s Presidency or nothing.

He said other regions of the country have had their own shots at the country’s number one office, noting that Igbo cannot play a second fiddle.

Featuring of a radio programme, Open Parliament on Love FM Umuahia, streamed live on ABN radio and television, Sir Udensi an Abia governorship aspirant emphasised that the South East region has been relegated to the background for long, noting that Igbo has contributed immensely and has remained at the forefront in the country’s development.

Other regions have occupied the seat of the President. When it gets to the turn of the South East, they are being told to take a subordinate position. We will not take it. Presidency of this country is our right, the same way others have ruled. It should be given to us. If not, it is a subtle way of telling us to leave the country.

“The South West has ruled, the North has ruled then when it is turn of the South East, they want to change the goal post. That cannot happen at this time. We are not taking the second position. Others should take the office of the Vice President this time while the Igbo takes the presidency,” he advised.

On the alleged refusal of the Department of State Services, DSS to allow the detained leader of Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to change his clothes on the ground that it has the insignia of lion’s head, the security expert described it as an insult to refuse the IPOB Leader to identify with his cultural dressing.

He condemned the governors of the South East region for not rising up to the occasion when necessary, insisting that time has come to elect true leaders with a genuine desire to stand in defence of the people.

APC Has Failed Nigerians – Solomon Dalung

0

Barrister Solomon Dalung, former Minister of Youth and Sports, has said that the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has failed woefully to live up to the expectations of Nigerians who truly desire positive change in all spheres of life since 2015.

He added that Nigerians are disappointed with what the APC-led government has offered to them.

Speaking to BBC Hausa at the official launch of “The New Movement” in Abuja, Dalung observed that the ruling party failed woefully to deliver on its promises to Nigerians since its inception.

He served during the first tenure of President Muhammadu Buhari-led government from 2015 to 2019.

He lamented that instead of the government improving from where the past government left, the APC-led government deteriorated the existing situation and added to the citizens’ sufferings in all spheres of life.

According to the former Minister, “The truth must be told that the APC as a party did not fulfill the promises it made to Nigerians.”

He noted that Nigerians now find themselves with security challenges such as killings of innocent people, kidnapping, displacing people, and worst still, people cannot access their farms as well as other means of livelihood.

Dalung explained that it is not their own selfish interest that inspired the formation of the movement, but it is for the interest of the people and for the wellbeing of the country.

The former Minister said that anything that would bring peace and will elevate Nigerians from the current situation is a welcome idea and this is one of the reasons for forming the movement.

Zamfara State Deputy Governor Impeached

Mahdi Aliyu Gusau

The Deputy Governor of Zamfara state, Mahdi Aliyu Gusau has been impeached, ABN TV has learned.

Gusau, who refused to defect with the State governor, Bello Matawalle from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to the All Progressives Congress, APC was impeached by the state house of assembly on Wednesday.

Gusau’s impeachment comes a day after a seven-man panel investigating alleged gross misconduct and abuse of office against him closed its hearing.

It can be recalled that 18 members of the state house of assembly voted for the impeachment move, following which the Chief Judge of the state inaugurated the Investigative panel to probe the deputy governor, in line with the procedure for impeachment.

Mr. Gusau had on Sunday branded the House of Assembly members as ‘illiterates’ over the impeachment because there was a court order against it.

“I am here today to comment on the impeachment move against me. I have heard that the CJ (Chief Judge) has inaugurated a panel to investigate me. How could they go ahead with such a move? How could the CJ inaugurate the panel when the issue is before a court of law?”

“But this shows that they are nothing but illiterates to me. If they continue the move then they are illiterates. They should know there is a limit to what they can do.”

However, in a swift response on Tuesday, the Chairman, House Committee on Information, Alhaji Shamsudeen Bosko, told journalists that “no court order could stop the impeachment process”.

He added that the process was in line with Section 188 (5) (7) of the country’s 1999 Constitution.

Elrufai disclosed that the Governors and the President agreed on a Zoning formula for all the six geopolitical zones ahead of the highly anticipated 2023 elections.

He said: “We have agreed on a zoning formula for all the six geo-political zones. Essentially, northern zone will have the positions the South have had in the last eight years, and vice versa. It is a very simple, equitable, and fair formula.”

“We will now go back and consult at the zonal levels and look at the positions that are available and the process of the convention preparation will be started in earnest. So, by the grace of God, on the 26th of March, we would have done our national convention.”

He also said that the Party’s convention scheduled for February 26th was moved to March 26th due to disagreements on certain issues.

With this development, Candidates from the south who have expressed interest in clinching the Party’s 2023 presidential ticket like Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and a couple of others will intensify and expand their consultations.
