Osinachi Nwachukwu: Don’t Die Avoidable Death – Catholic Priest Warns Women In Abusive Marriages, Shares Touching Story

It is no longer news that popular gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu is no more.

The Ekwueme crooner, according to several sources, died as a result of domestic violence.

Her husband, Peter Nwachukwu, was said to have always battered and maltreated her. The one that reportedly led to her death was when he allegedly kicked her on the chest and she died five days after being in a life support.

Reacting to the painful death of the celebrated singer, Father Chinenye John Oluoma, a popular Catholic priest cautioned married couples, especially women, to without hesitation leave an abusive marriage.

According to the Priest, there is nothing goldly or Christian about staying with a partner that constantly puts your life in danger.

He stated that death in marriage by the hands of an abusive spouse is avoidable and it is better to leave than become a victim.

Father Oluoma seized the opportunity to share a similar story of a lady from her former parish who had an abusive husband.

He wrote;

“In one of the parishes I worked, a woman always came to me with a bloodied nose and swollen face, fatal decoration from the man she called her husband. It was always a dilemma counselling her because I could see her helplessness. The next thing she feared more than loosing her life to her beastly husband was actually losing her marriage to him. To worsen her case, she didn’t have anything doing economically.

Long story short, I finally convinced her to run for her life, after receiving more bouts of life-threatening beatings. I paid for her transportation to her Uncle’s house. After two weeks, she came telling me that the man called and begged her to come back, she was obviously looking for my approval for her chicken-hearted and Lilly livered disposition. In my magnanimity, I chased her back to her uncle’s house.

After some months, the man went to beg. When I was consulted, I told the uncle to give the man two major conditions: 1. Empower the woman economically. 2. Deposit an undertaken never to beat her with the police and the uncle.

Death in marriage by the hand of an abusive spouse is avoidable, don’t honor it. We all woke up to the sad news of the death of Osinachi, a gospel singer, famously known for the song EKWUEME. suddenly, the cause of her death started filtering. I’m now reading that she died from injuries from violence by her husband.

The news going round now is that she’s been enduring this violence for years. So, her death, for me, was avoidable. Whatever made her to stay in that marriage despite constant life-threatening violence CAN NEVER be godly.

There’s nothing pious and righteous about enduring life threatening violence till death. The Bible never says “Blessed are those who are killed by their husbands or wives, for theirs is the kingdom” nope, it rather says “Blessed are you when men persecute you and speak all kinds of calumny against you on my account, rejoice and be glad for your reward will be great in heaven” Mtt 5:11-12.

If spousal violence is the cause of Osinachi’s death, she won’t be the first, I don’t know if she will be the last, but I hope her’s will help in the liberation of many women in such situation.

The Catholic Church has no place for divorce in marriage, it’s not a lexicon in catholic sacramental theology. Yet, there’s separation and dissolution. Separation is allowed when the life of any spouse is realistically threatened. It’s called SEPARATION FROM BOARD AND BED.

So hear me once more, run away from the spouse that want to kill you by any means, run for your life. Some women find it difficult to run because the man is their only source of sustenance, this is why Osinachi’s case befuddles me. She’s a celebrity, so I don’t think she can’t cater for herself or kids in the event of separation, if the story is true.

I repeat, there’s nothing godly, pious or Christian about staying with a man who beats you mercilessly and puts your life in danger. God can save you miraculously from accidents, armed robbers, bandits etc but you see a violent husband or wife, you have to save yourself: RUN.

Ladies, get a job or career or trade, just have something doing for a living, marriage is not eminent or social welfare for jobless women. You will need it. If your husband is financially buoyant and negotiates with you to stay off work for the sake of raising your children, that’s fine by me, but insist on him paying you a reasonable amount you fix in an account for as long as you stay home for the kids, E get why.

May the soul of Osinachi and the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in peace.”

2023: Give APC Another Chance - Senate President, Lawan Begs Nigerians

Senate President, Ahmad Lawan has pleaded with Nigerians to give the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) another opportunity.

He said this at a town hall meeting organised by the Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, Dr Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe, on Saturday.

At the meeting, which held in Ilorin, the state capital, Oloriegbe declared his intention to run for another term.

The senate president had earlier performed the groundbreaking of a rehabilitation centre at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Budo-Egba, Asa Local Government Area, and commissioned Idi-Isin Community Health Centre, Okolowo Area of Ilorin, both of which Oloriegbe facilitated.

Lawan, however, cautioned Kwarans against returning past leadership in the state.

He told those at the town hall meeting that the performance of Oloriegbe in the National Assembly has dwarfed all those who occupied the senatorial seat before him.

Former Senate President Bukola Saraki, Lawan’s predecessor, is among those who occupied the senatorial seat before Oloriegbe.

“I also want to call on all Nigerians to give APC another chance at all levels beyond 2023. We have promised Nigerians to continue to do our best and we would not renege on our promises”, Lawan said.

“I will like to remind you here, those people that you chased out will never get tired of trying to come back. You have only one more of “Otoge” and they will never come back.

“In 2023, just chase them far away from Kwara, and they will never find their way to Kwara. Don’t take it for granted. They are smart people. You know that. Chase them far away, if you can, up to the Atlantic Ocean if you chose to chase them to the South. If you wish, chase them up to Niger Republic. Chase them far away from here.

“The people of Kwara, you have gotten what you deserve from 2019. You have a state Governor that is for you. You have your National Assembly members that are for you. You have your state Assembly members that are for you and council chairmen and councillors.

“Don’t ever take that for granted. Less than three years, what our state Governor in Kwara has done, what our members of National Assembly, our Distinguished Senators, all the three of them, Senator Yahaya Oloriegbe from Kwara Central, Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar of Kwara North, Senator Lola Ashiru of Kwara South, have given every time that they need to give for us in the Senate to achieve what we have been able to achieve in the Senate.

“You don’t need to think twice. Vote for them more than you did in 2019. Make the gap more than convincing. Vote massively. Don’t assume, well we have win in 2019, these people, send them far away from Kwara so that we can maintain the trajectory of what you have been able to get today because, Nigerians, having gone through 16 years of deprivation, of misgovernance between 1999 and 2015, deserve the Progressives to continue to provide leadership in Nigeria.”

Also speaking, Oloriegbe reminded the people of Kwara that the ‘O to ge’ struggle that ousted the then political dynasty was targeted at poor governance and pauperization of the masses that were the hallmarks of the last administration.

He said his representation at the National Assembly has set a template for the people of Kwara Central since 2019.

Oloriegbe urged the people of Kwara Central to rally round him in his quest for re-election in 2023.

Women Are Smart Cheaters – Marriage Counsellor

Ghanaian marriage counsellor Charlotte Oduro has said women are one of the smartest people who know how to hide their infidelity either in relationships or marriages.

According to the relationship expert, although some men prove to be on top of their cheating game, women know how to shield their clandestine affairs better to avoid being caught.

Speaking during an interview with Abeiku Santana on Okay FM, Mrs Oduro said women could cheat on their partners while still providing them with the attention they need.

But men give themselves away by the change in their actions and conversation.

“When a man meets a woman who gives him good sex, he gets overwhelmed, it takes over his mind. He starts showing actions and acts like he’s never had sex, but for a woman, even when the sex is good she still knows how to take care of herself without you ever finding out,” she argued.

“For men, once they are all alone, they start smiling and imagining things. Their speech and actions change all of a sudden. Most women are very smart, they can easily figure out when a man is cheating because they totally change toward them.”

Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has joined the 2023 presidential race.

He declared his interest at a thanksgiving service organised by the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress.

Amaechi, who is from South-South, had severally denied being interested in the race before his official declaration on Saturday.

The former Rivers State governor becomes the sixth APC aspirant to officially declare his intention to contest.

Others are Bola Tinubu – South-West; Orji Uzor Kalu – South-East; Rochas Okorocha – South-East; Dave Umahi -South-East; Yahaya Bello – North-Central.

“I stand before you today to declare my intention and submit my application to serve as your next president,” he announced.

ABN TV had reported that Amaechi would formally declare his intention to contest the 2023 presidential election today.

According to sources close to the minister, his decision was predicated on the outcome of his consultations with several stakeholders in different parts of the country.

A former governorship candidate of the party, Dr Dakuku Peterside, had said the thanksgiving was for the party’s successful congresses and national convention, as well as to honour Amaechi, whom he described as an excellent performer.

Peterside added that Amaechi was eminently qualified to pilot the affairs of the country, saying he would bring his experiences to bear to transform Nigeria.

“For years, APC in Rivers State did not have substantive officers to run her affairs. But, the party has returned to the path of stability, unity and by inference, the path of victory.

“The second reason is the election of our members to various offices at the zonal and national levels.

“APC, more than ever, is ready to take over the government house,” he had said in a press statement.
