A heavily armed 18-year-old white man shot 10 people dead on Saturday at a Buffalo, New York grocery store in a “racially motivated” attack that he live-streamed on camera, authorities said.

The gunman, who was wearing body armor and a helmet, was arrested after the massacre, Buffalo Police Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia told a news conference.

Reports put the toll at 10 dead and three wounded. Eleven of the victims were African Americans.
The gunman shot four people in the parking lot of the Tops supermarket, three of them fatally, then went inside and continued firing, Gramaglia said.

Among those killed inside the store was a retired police officer working as an armed security guard.

The guard “engaged the suspect, fired multiple shots,” but the gunman shot him, Gramaglia said.

He added that when police arrived, the shooter put the gun to his neck, but was talked down and surrendered.

Stephen Belongia, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Buffalo field office, told the news conference that the shooting is being investigated as a hate crime.

Erie County Sheriff John Garcia described the attack as “pure evil.”

“It was straight up racially motivated hate crime from somebody outside of our community,” he said.

When asked what information led authorities to term the attack a hate crime, Erie County District Attorney John Flynn said they had evidence indicating “racial animosity,” but declined to elaborate.

Shadow Govt: Court Asked To Restrict Utomi, Associates From Holding Rallies

Former presidential adviser and co-convener of the National Consultative Forum, Prof. Pat Utomi, has said only true leadership and a quest for truth can heal Nigeria.

Utomi said this in a statement on Saturday in reaction to the riot in Sokoto which erupted after the killing of a Shehu Shagari Student College of Education student, Deborah Yakubu, for alleged blasphemy.

It was earlier reported that the police had arrested some suspects in connection to the Yakubu’s killing, which led to a protest in the Sokoto metropolis demanding their release.

“The incidents in Sokoto in the last two days have opened a deep wound in the soul of our country. الروليت اون لاين The only thing that can heal this deep gash now is leadership and truth, like the sore in the saying by the founder of the caliphate Uthman Dan Fodio, only truth can heal this one.

“Our country is truly at a crossroads and no one who fails to take a stand can be considered worthy of the trust of the people. arab casino

“As a Nigerian who has grown up Pan-Nigerian in the Northwest, North Central, North East, South West and South-South, and for decades pursued a career in crafting accommodation of one another I recognise clearly that if those who seek power, truly lead, we would not be in this recursive mode of one step forward, three steps backwards. All must now speak up on the future of how we live together. قمار الخيل We cannot continue to play the Ostrich,” the statement read in part.

The political economist noted that many would be more inclined to have a referendum than to participate in the general election to determine if the country should remain as one.

“I fully understand the widespread sentiment of many I run into that crunch time in the question of whether to break up or live together in dignity has arrived and that a referendum is more important now than election.

“I am pained by our arrival at this point but cannot ignore the passionate sentiment,” Utomi stated.

SERAP Takes Buhari Government To Court For Allegedly Spending N1.48 Trillion On Non-Functional Refineries

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has filed a lawsuit against President Muhammadu Buhari “over his failure to probe allegations that over N1.48 trillion reportedly spent on maintaining Nigeria’s four refineries between 2015 and 2020 may have been mismanaged, stolen or diverted into private pockets. طريقة لعبة البوكر في الجزائر

The present government under Buhari reportedly spent N10.23 billion in June 2020 on three refineries that processed no crude oil. لعبة جاك بوت

Also, in 2021, the Buhari government approved $1.5 billion (almost N600 billion) to repair the Port Harcourt refinery. كيف تفوز في روليت Despite the spending, the refineries are still not working, while fuel scarcity persists.

In the suit number FHC/L/CS/806/2022 filed at the Federal High Court, Lagos, last week, SERAP is seeking “an order of mandamus to direct and compel President Buhari to investigate the spending on Nigeria’s refineries, and alleged mismanagement of public funds budgeted for maintaining the refineries since 1999.”

The organization is also seeking “an order of mandamus to compel President Buhari to ensure the prosecution of anyone suspected to be responsible for the importation and distribution of dirty fuel into Nigeria, and to identify and ensure access to justice and effective remedies to affected victims.”

It argued that, “It is in the public interest to ensure justice and accountability for alleged corruption and mismanagement in the oil sector, which has resulted in the importation and distribution of dirty fuel and protracted fuel scarcity in the country.”

It said that the “Nigerian Constitution 1999 [as amended], and international standards impose clear obligations on the Buhari administration to take effective accountability measures to weed out, expose, and punish allegations of corruption in the oil sector, and to ensure effective remedies for victims.”

SERAP is arguing that “alleged corruption and mismanagement in the oil sector and the importation and distribution of dirty fuel have continued to deprive Nigerians of economic opportunities, subjecting them to cruel and degrading treatment.”

SERAP is also seeking “an order of mandamus to direct and compel President Buhari to instruct appropriate anti-corruption agencies to jointly track and monitor the spending of public funds to rehabilitate, operate, and maintain Nigeria’s refineries.”

The suit was filed on behalf of SERAP by its lawyers, Kolawole Oluwadare and Ms Adelanke Aremo.

Joined in the suit as respondent is Abubakar Malami, SAN, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice.

However, no date has been fixed for the hearing of the suit.

Elect A President That Believes In Nigeria’s Unity - Governor Wike

The Rivers State Governor, Mr. Nyesom Wike, yesterday, said he would support whoever wins the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential primary elections holding on May 28 and 29, 2022.

Wike, a presidential aspirant, made this promised in Lagos at a Town Hall meeting with the PDP’s national delegates from the state.

The Rivers governor was accompanied to the meeting by the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, former governors of Cross River, Ekiti and Gombe states, Donald Duke, Ayo Fayose, and Aliu Dakwanbo, respectively. Also in entourage are former Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke, serving and former National Assembly members, among others.

According to the Rivers governor, he has never left PDP before and would never leave the PDP even if things were not going his way, stressing that God has used the party to make him what he is today.

While assuring that if voted into power, he would replicate his numerous landmark projects in Rivers State across the entire country, the presidential aspirant however, advised the delegates not to give their votes to those who betrayed the PDP and made it an opposition party in 2015.

He said: “Sometimes, I’m not happy but as a committed party member, I don’t have to leave the party and I will never leave the PDP. Even if I don’t win the primaries, I will support whoever wins.

“When they come to ask you for votes, ask them what happened in 2014/2015. Ask them why did they fight PDP. Today, we are struggling to get back power which you know is not easy to get but those that made the PDP opposition are the ones asking you to make them president.

“It’s your choice but I want to urge you to give support to those who will not leave the party for any reason. Don’t give power to those who will use the opportunity to even form new parties”

He boasted that he is the only person who has the capacity to wrestle power from the jaws of the ruling All Progressive Congress.

“Among all the presidential aspirants, I’m the only person who can win the election for the PDP. The only person the APC members are afraid of is me. They know me, they know what I can do and they are afraid”, he stated.

Lewandowski: I’ve Played My Last Game For Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich striker, Robert Lewandowski has confirmed that he has played his last game for the team and has no intention of renewing his contract.

The Polish striker stated this in an interview with Sky Germany after helping his team to a 2-2 draw against Wolfsburg on Saturday.

“I can confirm that I spoke to Hasan [Salihamidzic, Bayern sporting director] and informed him that the decision was made — and that I am not extending my contract with FC Bayern,” Lewandowski told Sky Germany.

“Both sides have to think about the future. It’s best if we find the best solution for both sides.

“I said to [Salihamidzic] that if an offer comes, then we have to think about it — also for the club. Both sides have to think about the future. That’s all I can say.

“I still have a year’s contract [left at Bayern]. But I said that we have to find the best solution for both sides. We’ll have to wait and see what happens.”

Lewandowski is widely regarded as one of the best strikers in the world, and is considered by many to be one of the greatest centre-forwards of all time. An accurate and efficient finisher with his head and both feet, Lewandowski is a prolific goalscorer. A well-rounded forward, he is said to possess almost all the necessary qualities of a traditional number nine: height, strength, balance, pace, intelligent movement and proficiency with both feet.

Although he primarily operates as a goal-poacher in the penalty area, due to his positional sense, ability to shoot first time, strength in the air, and powerful shot with either foot, his excellent technical skills, quick feet, proficient dribbling, vision, and physique also enable him to hold up the ball with his back to goal and either bring his teammates into play, or win fouls for his team in useful positions; despite often functioning as a lone-centre forward or as an

Klopp Equals Alex Ferguson’s Record After Liverpool’s FA Cup Final Win Vs Chelsea

0

Jurgen Klopp has equaled the record set by legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, after Liverpool edged Chelsea in the final of the FA Cup on Saturday.

Following a goalless affair in 120 minutes of football, Liverpool beat Chelsea 6-5 on penalty shootout to land a first FA Cup title since 2006.

Greek defender Konstantinos Tsimikas converted the decisive kick in sudden-death to inflict a third consecutive FA Cup final loss on Chelsea.

It is Liverpool’s eighth FA Cup title in their history and their second title of the season, after initially winning the League Cup courtesy of another penalty win against Chelsea.

And according to OptaJoe, Reds boss Klopp has become only the second manager to win the European Cup/Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup and the English top-flight title all with the same English club, along with Ferguson.

Klopp can go on to achieve the biggest feat in English football by securing the quadruple if his side win the Premier League and the Champions League.

Liverpool trail Manchester City by three points in the race for the Premier League title and will face Real Madrid in the final of the Champions League.

Klopp spent most of his playing career at Mainz 05. He was initially deployed as a striker, but was later moved to defence. Upon retiring in 2001, Klopp became the club’s manager, and secured Bundesliga promotion in 2004.

After suffering relegation in the 2006–07 season and unable to achieve promotion, Klopp resigned in 2008 as the club’s longest-serving manager.

He then became manager of Borussia Dortmund, guiding them to the Bundesliga title in 2010–11, before winning Dortmund’s first-ever domestic double during a record-breaking season.

Klopp also guided Dortmund to a runner-up finish in the 2012–13 UEFA Champions League before leaving in 2015 as their longest-serving manager.

Klopp was appointed manager of Liverpool in 2015. He guided the club to successive UEFA Champions League finals in 2018 and 2019, winning the latter to secure his first – and Liverpool’s sixth – title in the competition.

His side finished second in the 2018–19 Premier League, registering 97 points; the then third-highest total in the history of the English top division, and the most by a team without winning the title.
