Abductors Issue Fresh Threat In New Video, Says Abducted Kaduna Train Passengers May Not Leave Here Alive

Terrorists who abducted passengers on a Kaduna-bound train have released yet another video.

Six passengers, including a Pakistani, were seen in the footage exclusively obtained by ARISE TV.

The victims, who were obviously traumatised, appealed to the government to come to their aid.

“My name is Mohammed, I’m working here in Nigeria, but a foreign national, a Pakistani. We were abducted from the Abuja-Kaduna train on 28 March. We are here; 62 in number. The conditions are not very good.  I am appealing to the government of Nigeria; the government of Pakistan and the international community to help us.”

Another passenger, Mohammed Dehu, also appealed to the government to accede to the demands of the abductors.

The terrorists, who accused the government of being insincere, gave a five-day ultimatum for the release of some of their children whom they claimed were in custody.

Family members of the victims have made several appeals to the Federal Government to rescue their loved ones from captivity.

Last week, Special Assistant to President Muahmmadu Buhari on Media, Garba Shehu, said that negotiations were ongoing to ensure the release of the victims.

He said, “We’re aware that there has been resistance from the family members of those who have been taken captive. Of course this is expected. This acts as pressure on one of the people involved in the discussion with the terrorists to ensure a safe release of those that have been held.

“The position of government has been stated and restated over time that the success of any operation will be determined by the number of recoveries of human beings alive and well not the return of dead bodies. The government has spoken about the fact that negotiations are ongoing, although a bit difficult, we hope that we return to normalcy.

Chima Anyaso Steps Down From Abia PDP Governorship Primaries, Cites Party's Undemocratic Conducts

A governorship aspirant in Abia State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Hon. Chima Anyaso has announced his withdrawal from the party’s guber primary election taking place today in Umuahia, citing what he called irregularities and undemocratic conduct by the state chapter of the party.

He joins Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe, representing Abia South Senatorial District to step down from the primary election.

In a letter addressed to the National Chairman of the party, Sen. Iyorchia Ayu, he said the 3-man Adhoc delegate election was scheduled to take place on May 4, 2022.

He, therefore, wondered where the delegates who will be voting in the primary election were gotten from, saying he will not be part of such a process.

He said, “It is with a deep sense of responsibility to my dear state, my teeming supporters, and the People’s Democratic Party that I, Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso announce my decision to immediately step aside from the PDP gubernatorial primaries scheduled to take place on Wednesday 25th May 2022.

“This decision is taken timely to enable me completely dissociate myself from a process that is fraught with irregularities, illegalities and undemocratic acts. As a firm believer and disciple of the tenets of democracy, it would be injurious to my reputation, my aspiration and the collective hope of those who believe in me if I go ahead and participate in a primary election that is most undemocratic, and at best detrimental to the progress and development of Abia State.

“It is a well known fact that the delegate election which was scheduled to hold on the 4th of May 2022 was not held in any of the 184 wards in Abia State, no other date for delegate election was announced, and no delegate election was held by Abia State chapter of the PDP. In the same vein, elements with vested interests within the party have continued to undermine every efforts made to redress the anomalies bedevilling these processes.

“It is a well known fact that the selection process for the purported 3-man adhoc delegates has continued to generate controversies capable of completely destroying our great party the PDP. It is most unfortunate that those who are saddled with leadership responsibilities at this material time have found themselves desiring god status in the political processes that will determine the fate of millions of Abians, borm and unbom without due consideration to justice and equity. These acts of total disregard for established and legitimate processes have continued to heat up the polity andI do not want to participate in the gubernatorial primaries under these circumstances.

“Chima Anyaso Campaign organization does not see any need to expend our energy and resources to participate in a process that could easily be termed illegal, illegitimate and thrown away when challenged at the appropriate quarters hence the decision to immediately step aside until these irregularities are resolved.”

Former Niger Delta militant leader, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo a.k.a Tompolo, has said he is hale and hearty.

Tompolo was reacting to reports that he was shot dead in Bayelsa State during the House of Representatives primary election.

The High Priest of Egbesu Deity said, contrary to reports, he is doing well.

Tompolo’s denial was contained in a statement issued by his Media Adviser, Paul Bebenimibo.

Describing the reports as malicious, the former militant leader urged Nigerians to disregard such.

The statement reads: “The attention of High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, has been drawn to an online report that one Tompolo was killed in Ogbia during the Peoples Democratic Party primaries for House of Reps and Senate.

“For the avoidance of doubt, this story has nothing to do with High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo. He is hale, hearty, and doing well by God’s grace.

“The general public should know that High Chief Government Ekpemupolo is a leader of the masses and will continue to speak for the masses.

“He urges the general public to disregard the malicious online report of his death.”

Igbo Marginalisation May Lead To Nigeria’s Extinction – Singer Paul Play Dairo

0

Veteran Nigerian singer, Paul Play Dairo, has said that the marginalisation of Igbos in Nigeria may lead to the country’s extinction.

In a lengthy post on his Instagram page on Tuesday, the singer noted having loved Nigeria and lived in it most of his life, his fear rests on the marginalisation of the Igbos.

“I love Nigeria. I’ve lived in it most of my life. My fear is if the marginalisation of Igbos continues, we may not have this country in some years to come,” Dairo wrote.

The Angel of my Life crooner also stated that his career enjoyed more patronage in the East, South and North, more than in the West where he came from.

He said, “I love this country. I can never choose another country over my country. I am Yoruba but I love all Nigerians, no matter the tribe.

“My career enjoyed more patronage in the East, South and North, more than in the West where I am from. I am grateful for the opportunities all Nigerians gave me to have a shot at stardom and popularity.

“I don’t take that for granted. In fact, I remain grateful for the rest of my life.

“However, truth must be told without fear or favour, without care about whose ox is gored. I know some will come out and say this should not be on the basis of tribe. Yes, but I analyse issues by putting myself in the shoes of those who feel cheated.”

He noted that Nigerians who do not believe that the Igbos deserve a shot at leadership are selfish and unreasonable.

Dairo said, “Whoever calls himself a Nigerian and feels the Igbos do not deserve a shot is just being selfish and unreasonable. The signs are being written on the wall but we keep thinking the terror now growing in the East will die down or will go away. Hmmm. I hope I’m wrong because this peace won’t be for long.

“I come in peace. I believe in equal rights and justice for all. GOD BLESS NIGERIA. Sorry GOD HAS ALREADY BLESSED NIGERIA. It’s up to me and you not to ‘UNBLESS’ IT. Shalom.”
