Real Madrid striker, Karim Benzema has revealed that he’s unhappy with the decision of PSG striker Kylian Mbappe to have remained with the Paris club.
Benzema, who a few days prior to the Champions League final did not want to talk about the issue, insists that their relationship isn’t affected by the youngster’s choice.
“I would have liked him to have been able to fulfill his dream of playing for Real Madrid, being together,” Benzema told Telefoot.
“He chose PSG, we must respect him. It’s his choice, he has a lot of responsibilities.
“We will enjoy playing together in the national team. Everyone makes their own choices.”
There was much speculation that Benzema was upset by Mbappe’s renewal with PSG after some cryptic messages he posted on social media.
However, Benzema has no doubt that the friendship will remain strong between the two.
“Real Madrid are Real Madrid, I’m not disappointed. We are good friends, it won’t affect our relationship,” he added.
A Nigerian soldier identified as K Ibrahim has been killed by a yet-to-be-identified policeman in Adamawa State, ABN TV has learned.
Military sources told SaharaReporters (not ABN TV) that the incident happened on Sunday evening along the Numan-Jalingo Road.
The police officer and his colleagues were said to be under the influence of alcohol.
It was gathered that the development caused pandemonium along the axis.

It is no longer news that former vice president Atiku Abubakar has clinched the presidential ticket of the People Democratic Party in the Primaries election that was recently conducted at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
ABN TV reports that Atiku pulled 371 votes to defeat Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike who was his closest rival in the poll.
Shortly after Atiku was declared as the winner of the primaries polls, All Progressive Congress Chieftain, Lagos State Chapter, Chief Joe Igbokwe took to his social media account to react to the development.
Igbokwe believes that the opposition party made a huge mistake by picking Atiku Abubakar.
According to the politician, PDP should have considered the fact that it is the turn of the South west to produce the next president.
“PDP has committed a political blunder and unmitigated error by picking Atiku ABUBAKAR as its presidential candidate knowing fully well that power goes to the south in 2023 according to our unwritten rules.” Joe Igbokwe stated.
The National Examinations Council on Sunday announced that it has “extended the Registration period of the 2022 Senior School Certificate Examination for school-based candidates to midnight of Monday 20th June 2022”.
The examination agency made this known in a statement made available to ABN TV in the early hours of Monday.
ABN TV reports that the registration period was initially scheduled to close on Monday 30th May 2022.
“State Ministries of Education, Principals, Commandants, and all stakeholders are enjoined to note that there would be no further extension after that.
“The 2022 NECO Senior School Certificate Examination will commence on 27th June 2022, and end on Friday 12th August 2022.
“Candidates are to be examined in 76 subjects during the examination,” the examination body noted.

A support group made up of youths, Amaechi Believers Nigeria, has appealed to delegates at the forthcoming presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress to vote for the former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, based on his competence.
The ABN National Coordinator, Charles Eloisalem, said the ex-minister was not a moneybag and will seek delegates’ votes with his personal quality.
When our correspondent asked Eloisalem in an interview about Amaechi’s financial capability to secure the votes of the delegates, as there are reports that delegates are being paid by aspirants, he noted that the ex-minister was coming to the race with experience and competence, and not money.
“On whether our leader (Amaechi) is a money bag, he is a man that has charisma and I believe everyone who supports Right Honourable Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi has charisma also. We who are sitting here are not billionaires but we have charisma and we have been able to pull out 50 delegates.
“If in our own little way we have been able to pull out 50 delegates who we know would not collect money to betray their conscience, we also want every APC member to do the same. Forget about the money; the money would last you for one or two months – the highest three months. And after that, do you mortgage your future and your children’s future for $2,000 or $3,000; or in naira, N1m, or N2m? Is that how much you want to mortgage the future of your children?
“Forget about the money and look at the antecedents of the various aspirants. That way, you would make the right choice.”
On the likelihood of the APC jettisoning power rotation and opting for a candidate from the North, Eloisalem said, “I believe in 2018 when the President was campaigning in Imo State, he specifically said that the next president of Nigeria would come from the South. I want the President to be a man of his words, which we have known him to be, and keep to his words that the next President of Nigeria should come from the South.
“I want my party, the APC, to listen to the President because he said this in 2018 and they should make sure they keep to their words to Nigerians and make sure that the presidential ticket goes to the South, as against throwing it open for anybody to contest.”
Eloisalem, who was accompanied by the National Organising Secretary, Kufre Nathan; National Youth Leader/Kogi State Coordinator, Mohammad Mustapha, among other executives of the group, had held a press conference in Abuja on Friday.
There, he stated that only Amaechi could win the presidential election for the APC as its candidate.
Eloisalem said, “We are working steadfastly to become the largest sub-political body by 2027 and by implication, have a large number of Delegates who would determine any election by internal party voting strength come 2026.
“We are all Nigerians and duly registered members of the APC, from across the 6 geo-political zones and few in the Diaspora, cut across different tribes, tongues, religions, academic qualifications but all united in our extraordinary belief and love for our nation.
“Since our inception in March 2022, we have been able to build structures in over 15 states, namely Bauchi, Kaduna, Kogi, Rivers, Kebbi, Borno, Adamawa, Ebonyi, Ekiti, Taraba, Kwara, Oyo, Osun, Abia and Akwa-Ibom states of Nigeria, with over 10,230 members across these states.
“We make a bold claim that our group has a good number of delegates – and as of the time of this press briefing ‘50’ who actively participated in their various states primaries and had to fly in this morning to be available for our meeting – and counting, and by the mercies of God, before the presidential primaries on the 30/31 of May, that number will double.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Sunday a former governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari, in connection with the ongoing investigation of the suspended Accountant-General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris, who was alleged to have diverted over N80bn.
Yari governed Zamfara State from 2007 to 2019.
A senior official at the EFCC told our correspondent on phone that Yari was arrested at his residence in Abuja around 5pm.
‘’Our operatives arrested a former governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari and Anthony Yaro, chairman and managing director of Finex Professional for their alleged role in N84 billion fraud involving former Accountant General of the Federation,’’ the source said.
Asked whether Yari would be released last night, the official said: ‘’Our investigation is still ongoing. He has to help us in getting to the root of the matter.’’
EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed Yari’s arrest.
The embattled accountant-general, who has been in the EFCC custody since May 16, had been suspended indefinitely.
Former Governor of Abia State and Chief Whip of the Senate, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu has lamented the abduction of the Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, His Eminence Samuel Kanu.
The Prelate alongside the Methodist Bishop of Owerri, Dennis Mark and the Prelate’s chaplain, were kidnapped on Sunday along Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway in Ummuneochi local government area of Abia state.
Kalu who described the incident as devastating and evil, urged security agencies to commence robust rescue operations in a bid to ensure safe release of the victims.
He said, “the abduction of the Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, His Eminence Samuel Kanu and others is pathetic and disheartening.

No fewer than 11 suspected members of the Eiye Confraternity, including four siblings, have been arrested over the killing of one Olaosebikan Tejuosho at the Isale-Abetu area of Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The four siblings were identified as Azeez Makinde, Ifajimin Makinde, Fashakin Makinde and Faleke Makinde.
Others are Quadri Ogunsanya, a.k.a Oguns; Jamiu Kehinde, a.k.a General Smart; Adenekan Samuel, a.k.a Adiye; Waris Ismail; Olamilekan Hamsat, a.k.a Diara; Bamidele Waliu; and Ajeifa Arifasope.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement on Sunday, said the suspects were arrested at the Itoku area of Abeokuta.
Oyeyemi added that they were arrested following credible intelligence received by the anti-cultism section of the command.
According to him, the cultists, who were involved in a series of bloody clashes in the metropolis, were planning another onslaught at the Itoku area before their arrest.
He said, “Upon the information, the Officer-in-Charge of the anti-cultism unit, CSP Shobiyi Oluwatoshin, mobilised his men and moved to the area, where 11 members of the group were apprehended.
“On interrogation, the suspects confessed to being members of the dreaded Eiye cult. They also confessed to their involvement in a series of cult clashes, one of which led to the killing of one Olaosebikan Tejuosho at Isale Abetu area of Abeokuta on March 25, 2022.
“They also confessed to being responsible for the killing of one Habib Mego and one other person simply known as Schoolboy (real name unknown) at the Omida area of Abeokuta, all on the same day.”
The PPRO said the state Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, had ordered investigation into the past activities of the suspects.
Meanwhile, the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has blamed parents for the rise in cultism in the state.
The governor, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin, on Sunday, noted that the children contributing to the rise in cultism and insecurity were not spirits, but came from some families in the state.
The governor urged parents to play their roles by being responsible for their children.
