Former Egypt manager Hassan Shehata has criticised Mohamed Salah for not contributing enough to help the national team.
Liverpool striker Salah has become an icon in his homeland for his performances with the Premier League giants.
But Shehata thinks Salah has not delivered enough for the Pharaohs.
“Technically, and I’m sorry to say this, but Mohamed Salah [has done] nothing with the national team,” Shehata was quoted by the Egypt Independent.
“He should have done much better than that. He must provide more when he plays for his country.
“He should have said this to the officials here, although he is not the one who chooses the players, but he should have said that the players here are not like the players in England.
“Therefore, the coaches have to find a way to open the space for Salah. We must find players to help him appear properly in the pitch.”
A former Secretary-General of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA), Alhaji Ahmed Sani Toro, who was kidnapped on Saturday night, has regained freedom.
Speaking to Daily Trust, one of his sons, Nasiru Toro, said his father was released on Monday night after spending three days with the kidnappers. شرح بلاك جاك
Although he refused to disclose details of how his father regained freedom, he said the former Commissioner of Sports in Bauchi State was in a stable health condition.

Toro, who was a member of the House of Representatives, was abducted in the night on Saturday, on Abuja-Jos road along with a former Golden Eaglets assistant coach, Garba Iliya.

The negotiator for Abuja-Kaduna train attack victims, Mallam Tukur Mamu, on Tuesday, raised an alarm over the deteriorating health condition of the remaining victims in the kidnappers’ den.
Tukur Mamu, who is also the Publisher of the Kaduna-based Desert Herald Newspaper, feared that some of the victims, who are being subjected to horrible conditions, and were bitten by snakes, may not survive if the Federal Government did not act urgently to ensure their release.
In a statement he issued to journalists, in Kaduna, Tukur Mamu noted that
most of the victims may hardly survive the next few weeks due to their deteriorating health conditions and the inhumane condition they were being subjected to inside the forest.
Although, he confirmed that the victims were not molested or beaten, he insisted that the Federal Government should put more effort to ensure their urgent release, as any delay may cause their death.

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar has taken a subtle jibe at presidential aspirants of the All progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Labour Party, Peter Obi over their apparent inability to select running mates.
ABN TV recalls that Tinubu and Obi put ‘placeholders’ as their Vice-Presidential Candidates in order to meet up with a deadline put in place by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Tinubu picked Usman Masari and Obi chose Doyin Okupe. Both aspirants have a 30-day window to replace them.
Atiku said: “The office of the president, in particular, requires that the holder of that office must have clarity of the mind on decision-making.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it will give effect to the ruling of the Federal High Court in Abuja on the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR).
INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman of Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, said this on Monday during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today.
Although he did not specifically state whether or not the electoral umpire would go ahead with its initial plan to stop the exercise, the INEC official said the commission would continue to obey the orders of the court.
“The commission is a constitutional body, and we are under a constitutional obligation to give effect to judgements and orders of properly constituted courts of law, and we are going to give effect to the order made by the Federal High Court,” he said.
Justice Mobolaji Olajuwon of the Federal High Court in Abuja had stopped INEC from going ahead with its decision to end the CVR exercise on June 30, as scheduled.
The judge gave the ruling while granting an order of interim injunction following the hearing of an argument on motion ex parte filed by the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP).
While INEC is expected to appear before Justice Olajuwon, the suit was adjourned till June 29 for the hearing of the motion on notice for interlocutory injunction.
Despite the decision to give effect to the order of the court, Okoye insisted that INEC would convince the court on the adjourned date on why the exercise should be discontinued for now.
“The court has asked the Independent National Electoral Commission to come back on the 29th day of June and explain its position; we are going to go back to the court on that 29th day of June to explain our position and then allow the rest of the issues to be determined by the court,” he said.
According to the INEC official, the CVR exercise has been ongoing for about a year as the online pre-registration and physical registration began in June and July 2021 respectively.
He lamented that there were instances where the registration officers registered just an individual for the whole day, stressing that the cost implications cannot be overlooked.
Okoye reiterated that the exercise was meant for only those who have not registered before and who have attained the again of 18 and above.
Bandits on Monday attacked intending pilgrims who were coming to Sokoto from Isa Local Government Area.
The pilgrims were due for take-off to the Holy Land today, Tuesday by 7:30am.
The bandits were said to have attacked their convoy along Gundumi forest but their security escorts foiled the attack.
A resident of Isa town, Malam Sirajo, who confirmed the incident to our reporter, said the intending pilgrims escaped unhurt and some of them were brought back to the palace of Sarkin Gobir Isa.
“They attacked their convoy, which was being escorted by security operatives who were said to have engaged the bandits for some minutes.
“We learnt that some of the operatives sustained injuries, which I cannot verify,” Sirajo added.
The Permanent Secretary, Sokoto State Scholarship Board, Shehu Muhammad Dange also confirmed the attack but said that he was not sure whether there was any case of abduction.
“We have 21 intending pilgrims from Isa. But we are yet to ascertain their condition,” he said.
When contacted, the acting Public Relations Officer of Sokoto State Police Command, ASP Ahmad Rufa’i said he was not aware of the attack.
Elder Godsday Orubebe has joined the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, 7 years after famously protesting against President Muhammadu Buhari’s emergence as President.
ABN TV learned that Orubebe left the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, some days back over the emergence of a Northern Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar. President Buhari is set to receive Orubebe in Aso rock in the next few days.

Orubebe accused then INEC chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega, of supporting the APC, the main opposition at that time. He later apologized to the Nation for his conduct.
It was gathered that Orubebe’s defection was perfected by the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and Delta State chairman of APC, Engineer Omeni Sobotie.
Omo-Agege had last week, told Buhari that he had successfully persuaded Orubebe, who was said to be angered by the emergence of a Nigerian of northern extraction, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, as the presidential candidate of the main opposition party, to join the ruling party.

Further investigation revealed that the national chairman of APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, and Omo-Agege, were billed to usher Orubebe into the Presidential Villa to meet with Buhari within the next few days, as part of the process of his formal admittance into the party.
Former Niger State Governor, Babangida Aliyu, has said the presidential candidate of Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi can’t rule Nigeria in 2023.
Aliyu said 2023 is too early for Obi to become president, hence he should wait for either 2027 or 2031.

“I would have loved him as a Vice President. Many of us were rooting for him to be running mate to Atiku again.”
Abia state police command has paraded 25-year-old Chimaobi Anyim Kalu of no. 44 Nwogu Street, Ngwa Road, Aba and his accomplice, 21-year-old David Ogwo Orji of Umunkama Roundabout, Ngwa Road, Aba in connection with the killing of 21-year-old Chimhurumnaya Udeh, female a native of Edda in Ebonyi State, ABN TV reports.
She was killed at Merry Home Hotels Ogbor Hill Aba on 15 April, 2022 and her baby boy of about eleven months old taken away, Commissioner of Police in Abia State, CP Janet Agbede told newsmen during the parade of the suspects at police headquarters in Umuahia on Monday.
Narrating the incident, the Commissioner of Police said on 16th April, 2022 at about 0010hrs, one Felix Abengowe the proprietor of Merry Home Hotels Ogbor Hill Aba reported that an unidentified female corpse with a sharp cut on her neck region was found in one of his hotel rooms.
According to her, police detectives on arrival at the scene, were further informed that the suspects escaped with the the baby boy of the deceased Chimereobioma Silver, 11 months old after killing her.
The CP added, “Furthermore, between 15 and 16 May, 2022 upon information, the above suspects were arrested in connection with the case. It was discovered that both of them are motorcyclists from Ugwueke in Bende Local Government Area of Abia state. Chimaobi Anyim Kalu resides at No. 44 Nwogwu Street, off St. Dominics street, Ngwa road Aba while David Ogwo Orji lives at Umunkama roundabout off Ngwa road Aba.
” Their confessional statements revealed that the suspects administered drug which according to them is a mixture of yoghurt and piriton tablets on their victim before stabbing her with a broken glass cup on her neck and she died instantly. They also made away with her eleven (11) months old baby boy whom they claimed was sold for the sum of One hundred and fifty thousand naira (N150,000) only, which was shared equally among them.
“Effort has been intensified to arrest one of the fleeing suspects and recover little Chimeremobioma Silver purportedly sold.”
The Police boss therefore urged residents of the state to be security cautious anywhere they are, including hotels, schools, churches, residential areas, business premises, recreation centres and even while driving or on transit.
The Ogun State Police Command says its attention has been drawn to a video clip circulating on social media where a famous hip-hop musician Habeeb Okikiola a.k.a Portable, the Zazu crooner was seen organising some youths to beat up a young man and inflict bodily injury on him.
The incident was said to have taken place somewhere within Ogun State about two days ago.
According to PPRO of Ogun State Police Command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, such unruly and violent behaviour is not only barbaric but unbecoming of somebody who is supposed to be a role model for the youths and should not be tolerated.”
He said, “The police insist that if Portable’s unruly behaviour is not checked, the same act will send wrong signals to the youths.
“Given this, the Command is using this medium to advise Okikiola Habeeb, a.k.a Portable, to report himself at the nearest police station in Ogun State, failure of which his arrest will be ordered.
“The flagrant display of impunity by portable in the viral video is condemnable, and if not checked, it will send a wrong signal to the youths looking up to him as a role model.
