The Federal High Court in Kano has stopped Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje administration’s request from borrowing N10billion for the installation of Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras in the state.

Justice Abdullahi Liman on Friday granted the prayers of a civil society coalition known as Kano First Forum (KFF), saying status quo must be maintained on the issue of the borrowing.

The group had on June 27 filed an exparte motion sworn to by the director-general of the association, Dr Yusuf Isyaka-Rabiu.

KFF through its counsels, led by Badamasi Suleiman-Gandu, prayed the court to restrain Governor Ganduje from obtaining the N10 billion loan.

KFF is opposing the borrowing of the N10billion on the ground of non-compliance with rules and regulations governing loan transactions.

2023: Please, Vote For APC No Matter How Angry You Are - Amaechi

Rotimi Amaechi, former minister of transportation, has urged his supporters to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 polls.

He said this on Saturday when he arrived Rivers, on his visit to the state after contesting the APC presidential ticket.

Let me start by thanking all of you. I will make slight amends to the statement made by our leader. الالعاب التي تربح المال We have not won, because even the Bible we read says faith without work is dead. So, we will win if we are ready to work. العاب وجوائز مالية حقيقية

“It will be total arrogance to just sit at home and think you’ll win. Trust the courts, justice will be done. Don’t be afraid. Go home and work. Our job is to work; that is why I came. I came to thank you and to urge you to work. مراهنات All of us are unit leaders; no more local government leaders.

“Let’s go home and win our units. We must praise INEC and the national assembly for reducing the level of rigging.

“I’ll be coming home regularly to make sure we win. I will not be an Abuja politician. You will see me here so that we can win.

“Please, the contest for the presidency, we should know that we should vote for our party, no matter how angry you are. Forget the stories you’re hearing; forget about those gossiping about a meeting in France. Let this place be your own France. Vote for your party.”

2023: There Is No Division In PDP, Atiku Speaks From Dubai

Despite the infighting in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2023 general elections, the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar on Sunday insisted that there is no division in the party.

In a message to his supporters, Atiku who is facing a running battle with some PDP governors and stakeholders over his choice of running mate said he will do all within his power to bring everyone together under the same umbrella.

He said ”One of the characteristic attributes of democracy that I admire a lot is that it is a system with an intrinsic asset of crisis management”.

“It becomes even interesting that perhaps the most noteworthy outcome of a democratic process is the greater possibility of conflict generation”.

“So, a remarkable lesson that I have learned in politics is that in some instances, conflicts are healthy realities”.

“I know, for instance, that when conflicts arise out of genuine concerns about having an inclusive political process, it signposts the viability of that process and, more importantly, the eagerness of stakeholders to be active participants in the success of such process”.

“As leaders and stakeholders in the Peoples Democratic Party, the simmering agitations in our party are a reflection of our credential as a democratic party”.

“Whatever our agitations are, I believe it is borne out of collective concern for the growth of our party and the country. Therefore, I don’t see a divided house in the PDP. I see an opportunity for us to come together stronger and united”.

A three-man gang of cultists has been arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly gang-raping a 15-year-old girl during a forced initiation into a cult.

The three members of the Eiye Confraternity forcefully initiated her into their group after raping her.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the suspects, Daniel Njoku, aka Agege; Damilare Ogundiran, and Adebayo Olamilekan, were arrested last Thursday.

Oyeyemi said their arrest followed a report lodged at the Ajuwon divisional headquarters by the victim’s mother.

According to Oyeyemi, the woman reported that she sent her daughter on an errand at the Akute-Odo area, but she was waylaid by Njoku, who forcefully took her to his gang at their hideout, where the girl was gang-raped, beaten and forcefully initiated.

He said, “The complainant further explained that her daughter was threatened by the suspects that she would be killed if she dared to inform anybody about the incident.

“Upon the report, the DPO Ajuwon division, SP Andrew Akinseye, detailed his detectives to go after the hoodlums.

“The team, acting on credible intelligence, located the hideout of the group at the Akute-Odo area, stormed the place and succeeded in arresting three members of the gang.

“The suspects have confessed to the crime. They informed the police that they were desperately looking for more members to join their group, especially female members, and that was what prompted them to do what they did.”

Labour Party In Contact With El-Zakzaky, Says Kaduna Guber Candidate

Kaduna governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr Shunom Adinga has disclosed the party have established contact with the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his members to support the presidential ambition of Peter Obi as well as his gubernatorial ambition ahead of the 2023 general elections.

He made this known during an interactive session with newsmen in Kaduna at the weekend.

According to Adinga, he joined the governorship race out of the desire to provide quality leadership using human capital resources to turn the state into a viable economy and development.

He noted that labour is all about human capital development adding that fortunately, Kaduna State has enormous natural and human capital resources to be harnessed for youth employment and human development.

“We try as much as possible to bring aggrieved members of the society together to support LP such as Shite and El-zakzaky.

”We contacted them and had a robust discussion on common interests. لعبة تربح فلوس We have also a clear understanding with them in matters of collaboration with the incoming government of Peter Obi to make sure that we rebuild the economy of the state and country. شرح 1xbet

“We try to ensure that all the aggrieved members are brought together to achieve the desired results,” he said.

He also explained that no party in the country is as famous as the labour party because Nigeria has more workers than the number of politicians.

“So Labour is the biggest and one of the most populous parties in the country today. If you narrow it down, Kaduna State is an extraction of the federation and therefore the population of workers are very high in Kaduna State.

“Anybody who cannot manage the human capital resources of approximately 6-7 million population and harness them into potential Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), such leader is not creative enough to lead the population. لعبه البوكر لعبه البوكر

“Leaders should be able to turn around the enormous human capital to IGR through creativity”, he stated.

Ukraine Asks Turkey To “Detain” Russian-Flagged Ship Carrying Ukrainian Grain

Ukraine has requested that Turkish authorities detain a Russian-flagged ship carrying Ukrainian grain, the country’s ambassador to Turkey Vasyl Bodnar told CNN Saturday. تعليم البوكر للمبتدئين

The Zhibek Zholy vessel is currently at anchor near the Turkish port of Karasu as “it was in fact detained by Turkish customs authorities and it is not allowed to enter the port,” Bondar said. “Now we are waiting for the decision of the relevant authorities of Turkey regarding the actions that the law enforcement agencies of Ukraine insist on,” he said.

The Turkish trade ministry has not yet responded to CNN’s request for confirmation that the ship has been detained.

Bodnar said Ukraine initially addressed the Turkish foreign ministry regarding the ship on Thursday, and on Friday the Ukrainian embassy in Turkey received an appeal from Ukrainian authorities “to ensure its detention and inspection.”

“Maybe, we will demand its arrest as well,” Bodnar said. “We have sent appeals to the Turkish authorities, have organized several communications with senior officials. كيفية لعب بوكر CNN has reached out to Turkey’s Foreign Ministry about Bodnar’s claim.

Ukraine has repeatedly said Russia has stolen hundreds of thousands of tons of grain since the start of the war.

According to the ship tracking website Marine Traffic, the cargo ship left the Russian port Novorossiysk on June 22 and spent nearly a week at sea between Ukraine and Russia.

The cargo ship turned its tracker on when it left the Sea of Azov for Karasu, Turkey, on June 29, and arrived at the Turkish port on Friday, according to Marine Traffic.

Although it’s possible the grain came from neighboring areas, Bodnar said the ship’s loading point was “definitely” Berdiansk — “occupied territory,” without elaborating on why he is certain of this. Bodnar added that he doesn’t have the name of the company or the district where grain was taken from.

Yevgeny Balitsky, the head of the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration, now partially under Russian control, said on Telegram Thursday the first merchant ship had left the Berdiansk port on the Azov sea, and reiterated claims by Russia that the waters surrounding the port have been de-mined by the engineering units of Russia’s Novorossiysk naval base.

Bodnar said Ukraine sent the second appeal to Turkey on Friday “when we had just learned that the ship was coming” after the initial appeal was made on Wednesday “when we received information from open sources that such a vessel was loading and apparently intended to enter the port.”

Friday’s appeal has “a legal” component and has been sent “to all authorities of Turkey responsible for making decisions,” he said.

According to Bodnar, Turkey’s Ministry of Trade responded to the initial appeal saying the ship will remain anchored near the port of Karasu without being allowed to be unloaded or go back, while Turkey evaluates Ukraine’s requests.

“I have an impression that the Russian side tried to set a precedent and tried to start transporting everything from the occupied ports — this is Berdiansk, it may be Mariupol,” Bodnar said.

“Moreover, this is probably one of the attempts to drive a wedge between Turkey and Ukraine. As well as an attempt to legalize its occupation of ports that belong to Ukraine.”

In response to media reports that Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office has submitted a request to Turkey to detain and arrest the cargo ship, the ship’s owner, the Kazakhstan national railway company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ), said in a statement Saturday that “KTZ requested confirmation from the Ukrainian authorities regarding such request. “Active consultations are underway with the ambassadors of both countries [Turkey and Ukraine],” the statement said.

“The seller, which is a company registered in Europe, insists that the transaction is legal. In order to clarify the situation and exclude violations of international law, KTZ sent a letter to the lessee of the vessel with a request to provide, as a matter of urgency, a detailed explanation of the situation and submission of all supporting documents (contracts, certificates, etc.),” the company said.

“KTZ assures of its commitment to compliance with international law,” it added.

Ukraine accuses Russia of blocking its ports and trying to “steal” Ukrainian grain. The United Nations has said Russia’s blockade of Ukrainian ports has already raised global food prices and threatens to cause a catastrophic food shortage in parts of the world.

Russia has repeatedly denied it is blocking the ports and Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has called allegations Russia was stealing grain from its neighbor “fake news.”

Only Those Who Are Not Politicians Asking Kwankwaso To Be Obi's Running Mate — Buba Galadima
Buba Galadima

A member of the New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP, Buba Galadima has claimed that Nigerians clamoring for the party’s presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso to be the running mate of his (Kwankwaso) Labour Party counterpart, Peter Obi are not politicians.

Galadima made the claim on Monday while featuring on Arise Television’ Morning Show.

According to him, the Kwankwasian movement has been in force for the past 32 years, while that of Peter Obi started just two months ago, stressing that there is no way the NNPP candidate can deputize Obi.

He said, “Those who said Chief Peter Obi could not be Kwankwaso’s running mate are not politicians.

“They just started a movement two months ago while the Kwankwasian movement has been on ground for 32 years and the primary reason for the movement is for Kwankwaso to become President.

“No Nigerian has ever performed well while in office like Alhaji Kwankwaso. I understand that Peter Obi was the governor of Anambra State and he did his best but not like Kwankwaso.”

He argued that Kwankwaso has more educational qualifications than any other presidential candidate of any political party.

Gunmen Attack INEC Office In Enugu Raze It Down

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Igboeze North Local Government Area of Enugu State has been burnt down by unknown arsonists.

The office, situated at the council’s headquarters in Ogurute was set on fire late Sunday night and the affected building was totally burnt.

Sources in the area told our correspondent that by the time security was provided, the fire had completely razed down the building.

The sources added that the only thing the two fire trucks from Nsukka and Ogurute were able to do was to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby offices.

Igboeze North and its neighbouring Igboeze South LGA had been under attack recently by unknown gunmen leading to the state government imposing a 6 pm to 6 am curfew and banning commercial motorcyclists in the affected LGAs.

Since the outbreak of violence in the area over a month ago, there has been heavy security presence in the area to check the continued attacks but the battle has continued to linger.

I Never Asked Christians To Buy Guns — Pastor Adeboye
Pastor Adeboye

PASTOR Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), says he never asked Christians to buy guns for self-protection.

The renowned cleric on Sunday at the monthly thanksgiving live television programme of the church, said “I never asked Christians to go and buy guns. Samson in the Bible did not fight with guns.”

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that the clarification became imperative after several media reports that the general overseer said it was now “fire-for-fire’’ for any attack on Christians.

He said, “Don’t buy guns. You don’t want to kill anybody. We just must make sure that unwanted visitors don’t come to our churches, so don’t go and buy guns.”

At the July Holy Ghost Service, on July 2, Adeboye urged members of the church not to be afraid to attend church programmes because of terrorists’ attacks on a church in Owo, Ondo State.

Terrorists attacked Saint Francis Catholic Church, Owo, on June 5, killing more than 40 worshippers, and injuring many others.
Adeboye urged Christians to rise to the occasion and call the bluff of the devil.
