Minister of Interior, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, yesterday, queried the Passport Control Officer of the Alausa Passport Office of the Nigerian Immigration Service, NIS, in Lagos, Mrs. B. L. Bukar, for breaching due process in the issuance of passports to Nigerians.

Aregbesola consequently advised Nigerians to follow due process in their passport application and shun patronising touts, who will end up disrupting the standardised procedure.

The minister said: “I have said it for the umpteenth time that Nigerians must stop patronising touts either in uniforms or in civilian clothings. The only way for you to apply for your passport is online.

“The attempt to get passports on-the-go and boycott the standardised collection timeline of three weeks for reissue and six weeks for fresh application, after capturing, which is the main reason why many patronise touts, will only end up in disappointment.

“Our appointment-based system for capturing applicants’ data and standardised passport collection procedure has made nonsense of promise by touts to deliver passports to applicants, who patronise them. Patronising them will only end in disappointment.”

Whilst listening to feedback from applicants, who were waiting for their data capturing, an applicant complained about the application process which, in his opinion, is cumbersome.

However, the minister asked the Passport Control Officer at the station to explain the breach of due process, noting that such request was strange.

The officer, who allegedly sold the obnoxious form and made the request for manual filling, was identified and subsequently queried.

Aregbesola told the officers on duty that they are servants of the people and this must be reflected in their attitude at work and the way they relate with passport applicants. As such, they should avoid creating false gridlock that frustrates and exasperates the people.

2023: Nigerians Should Vote For A President With Capacity In Economy, Security — Sen. Kalu [VIDEO]

Senate Chief Whip Orji Uzor Kalu has urged the Federal Government to reopen negotiation with the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

In a statement yesterday, Kalu, who is former Abia State governor, lamented the disruption of academic activities as a result of the incessant strikes by varsity teachers.

According to Kalu, the Federal Government should also endeavour to implement the signed agreements with the lecturers in the interest of students, their parents, the education sector and the country at large.

The Abia North senator also described as worrisome the continued brain-drain which he stated has contributed to poor quality of graduates in the country.

He said: “Incessant strikes disrupt the academic calendar, encourage brain drain and contribute significantly to the poor quality of graduates in the Country, with far-reaching implications for national development.

“The Federal Government should urgently take all necessary measures to open a realistic negotiation with ASUU to stop the strike and implement the signed agreements in the interest of our students, their parents, the education sector and the country.

“We must stop playing with the future of our youths.”

Show Abia North What You Achieved In 8 Years, Stop Scoring Cheap Political Point With Insecurity, Group Carpets Ohuabunwa

A socio-political group, under the aegis of Abia North Peace Foundation, ANPF, has taken a swipe at former Abia North Senator, and candidate of PDP for the district, Mao Ohuabunwa for allegedly attempting to score cheap political points with insecurity in the district.

The group therefore challenged Ohuabunwa to show the people of the district what he achieved in twelve years he spent at the national assembly.

The group while reacting to Ohuabunwa’s attack on incumbent Senator of the district, Orji Uzor Kalu, accused him of over heating the polity ahead of the 2023 general elections.

National Coordinator of the group, Chief Nnanna Ukaegbu in a statement on Thursday urged Ohuabunwa to be courageous enough to tell Abians that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is the Chief Security Officer of the State and has failed in his responsibility.

So Ohuabunwa wants to win election with dirty propaganda? It won’t work! Ohuabunwa should be bold enough to tell Abians that his friend, Okezie Ikpeazu is the Chief Security Officer of Abia State. He should also urge the deputy governoship candidate of the PDP, Okey Igwe — who is also the House of Assembly member representing Umunneochi to speak up for his people. What is the job of the Local Government Chairman there? What is he doing to tackle the insecurity in his area? betrally Mao Ohuabunwa should be bold enough to call their names. Why is he channeling his energy on Senator Orji Uzor Kalu without even mentioning Nkeiruka Onyejeocha who is from Umunneochi Local Government Area?

“Ohuabunwa is going to be politically retired in 2023; Senator Orji Uzor Kalu won’t descend into the gutter with him. بيت واي It is too early for him to start weeping now. It is better for him to save his tears ahead of the general election because the humiliation would be too much for him to handle.

“From Umunneochi down to Arochukwu, we shall humiliate him with our votes. We expected him to share his scorecard from 1999-2007 and 2015-2019 respectively.

“Obviously, he has nothing to offer other than overheating the polity by using insecurity to incite the masses. His advisers and associates should tell him that Abia North Youths are now wiser. We can’t be fooled by dirty propaganda. Show us your achievements if you want our votes.

“Ohuabunwa is obviously not informed that this is social media era where everything can be found online. He has nothing to campaign with, meaning, he is not fit to be elected by any sane person from Abia North senatorial district.

“Is Senator Orji Uzor Kalu the Chief Security Officer of Abia State? Why didn’t Ohuabunwa attack Governor Okezie Ikpeazu who is the Chief Security Officer of Abia State in his statement?

“His attack on Kalu clearly shows he has been rejected by all including his Arochukwu kinsmen. العاب تربح اموال حقيقية We shall help him retire politically in 2023 by using our voter’s card to reject his frying pan sharing philosophy,” the statement said.

I Will Leave No Inheritance For My Children – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has disclosed he is leaving not any inheritance for his children beyond the training and education he gave them.

The President spoke at the palace of the Emir of Daura, Dr Faruk Umar Faruk, in Daura, during Sallah homage.

He also appealed to parents to inculcate the right values in children, including deep fear of God, respect for constituted authorities and living purposeful life through continuous education.

The President charged youths to seek education, not for government jobs, which are unavailable, but to arm themselves with skill and ability to fight poverty and to meet the needs of the 21st century.

“I was locked up for more than three years, after leading the country. At that point, I realised and I told my children that your net worth is what is in your head, not what you have acquired in life.

“My focus has always been on training the children to be relevant wherever they find themselves. I told my children, particularly the girls, that they can only get married after getting first degree.

They already know that I am not leaving anything for anyone to inherit. My greatest legacy to the children is to ensure they are properly educated,” he said.

Buhari Was Overrated, Had Serious Incompetencies Not Noticed — Udensi

A chieftain of All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA Sir Chikwe Udensi has taken a swipe at the President, Muhammadu Buhari saying despite contesting to lead Nigeria several times, he was still not prepared.

According to Udensi a security expert, Buhari has overrated and had incompetencies which attention was not paid to.

He spoke on Wednesday on Love FM programme, Open Parliament monitored by ABN TV in Umuahia, saying, the President’s performance is disappointing in the last seven years.

He was reacting to Buhari’s outcry where he said he can’t wait to leave office in 2023 because it has been tough.

The President spoke when he hosted some All Progressives Congress (APC) governors, legislators and chieftains at his Daura home in Katsina.

Noting that he has less than a year left in office, the Nigerian leader assured that he would do his best in the remaining months.

“I wish the person who is coming after me the very best. I am eager to go. I can tell you it has been tough”, he said.

Udensi said Buhari has about ten months to go, saying it is a long period of time in the life of a nation, urging the president to toll the path of honour and resign of he’s tired of leading.

We probably overrated Buhari, we probably did not understand that there were serious incompetencies on his part, I am saying this with all sense of responsibility.

“As a patriot, we were told we have to respect our leaders, but when leaders are incompetent, we should not hide under any clause to protect them. The president has shown he was not prepared for the job”, he said.

Udensi said Buhari had in the past, especially in 2009 supported ASUU strike which lasted for six months.

He also condemned what he called the incompetence of the Minister of Education, Prof. Adamu Adamu who has been an advocate of effective educational system and the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, following their failure to ensure that the ongoing strike is called off.

He called on Nigerians to pay attention to antecedents of contestants to various elective positions before making a choice in 2023, saying Buhari government has not met the expectations of many Nigerians.

“Without Money No Woman Will Be Interested” - PSquare’s Paul Okoye Tells Men

Prominent Nigerian musician, Paul Okoye of the famous PSquare music duo has highlighted some key assets that would attract the attention of every woman.

In a post he made on his Instagram Story, Paul Okoye intimated that no woman will be interested in having an intimate affair with any man when money is not involved in the approach.

He explained that the first and foremost goal of every woman is to bill their men or let them foot all their bills, hence it will be very necessary for men to achieve a level of success before making an approach to any lady.

Although a few might disagree with him, we will all agree on the fact that the stability of most relationships involves money even when the other party is independent. Some women would not necessarily bill their partners but for security sake, they would prefer to date financially capable guys.

If You Were A Good Leader, The People Will Themselves Campaign For You – Kate Henshaw To Politicians

Popular Actress Kate Henshaw has criticized politicians as she makes them understand that they don’t need to worry about campaigns if they were good leaders.

Kate Henshaw reacting to how Nigerian politicians are busily campaigning against each other with the hope of winning the coming 2023 elections made them understand there would have been no need for the campaign if they were good leaders in the past.

According to her, if they were good leaders and affected the lives of the citizens positively not only the ones they just bribe with food every now and then, the people themselves would have campaigned for them and wanted them to continue with their good works.

But because they didn’t affect the lives of the citizens positively, they are busily fighting and campaigning against each other to win the next elections and continue with their ‘wickedness’ by ignoring the citizens they’re supposed to be serving.

Summon Courage To Put Nigeria To A Vote, Nnamdi Kanu’s Counsel Challenges Buhari

Special Counsel to the embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, Aloy Ejimakor has challenged President Muhammadu Buhari to summon the will to put the existence of Nigeria to a vote, saying the country is irredeemably divided along ethnic and religious lines.

He was reacting to Buhari’s public outcry recently where he said he is eager to retire to Daura, his country home in Katsina after the expiration of his tenure next year.

Ejimakor tweeted, “Buhari cries out: ‘I am eager to go, Nigeria has been tough’. No sir. Nigeria is beyond tough; it’s irredeemably divided along ethnic & religious lines. And the fix is not to ‘cut & run’ but to summon the will to put Nigeria to a vote.”

Buhari had said he can’t wait to leave office in 2023 because it has been tough.

Noting that he has less than a year left in office, the Nigerian leader assured that he would do his best in the remaining months.
