2023: APC Suspends Youth Leader, Ward Chairman In Jigawa

No fewer than 30 aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress have instituted cases against the party in the North-West zone, says reports.

The cases, instituted in various courts, were as a result of the conducts of the various primary elections by the party held in the zone.

The National Legal Adviser of the APC, Ahmed El-Marzuq, stated this at a press conference shortly after the maiden meeting of the ‘Legal Field Operations Committee’ in Kaduna.

He said the Committee was to address legal matters by aggrieved members arising from the conducts of the various primary elections during the state Assemblies, Governorship, House of Representatives, Senate and Presidential elections.

“Today the Zonal Legal Field Operations Committee met in Kaduna. In attendance were legal advisers from Kano, Kebbi, Kaduna, Sokoto as well as legal advisers from the National headquarters.

“During such exercises, issues of complaints and petitions are usually received. The law has provided remedies for such complaints to be pursued in the various courts in the land,” El-Marzuq said.

According to the legal adviser, the meeting was part of the party’s efforts to pacify aggrieved members so as to  strategize ahead of the 2023 general election.

He explained further that the maiden meeting availed the committee the opportunity of the number of cases in courts against the party, adding that “so far, we recorded 30 cases in the North-West zone.”

Some of the cases, he said, were even from opposition parties, allaying fears that the cases would not affect the fortunes of the party in the forthcoming general election.

Senator Albert Bassey Akpan has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Akpan, in a letter to his ward chairman, seen by ABN TV, explained that he intends to contest for the Governorship of Akwa-Ibom state on the platform of another party.

It can be recalled that Pastor Umo Eno is the current gubernatorial flag-bearer of the PDP in the state.

The letter read; “It is with the greatest sense of responsibility, purpose, and love for my people that I make bold this communication.

I have been a loyal and committed member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for over 20 years and have through the platform of the party serve our people, state, and nation diligently without any blemish, and I have by the grace of God contributed positively and impactfully to the growth and development of our dear country, state, and our people in general.

I believe as a lawmaker and a distinctive one at that must at all times advocate and pursue virtues and values that promote and sustain the effective adherence to the rule of law.

As you are aware, my aspiration to serve our dear state in the office of the Executive Governor is not personal or selfish but rather the collective ambition of our people, based on the principles of justice and equity, to achieve a better and prosperous Akwa Ibom State.

In the words of Jean Anouilh and I quote “The only immorality is not to do what one has to do when one has to do it”.

“Therefore, after an extensive consultation with my God, family, friends, supporters, and well-meaning believers in a just and equitable Akwa Ibom State across the world, it’s obvious that these collective yearnings and aspirations cannot be actualised under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).”

“Consequently, guided by the sentiments, concerns and worries of our people so expressed on the need to take immediate steps for the actualisation of their aspirations. I am therefore compelled to resign my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) forthwith.”

Lawyer Tells Court: Stop Northern Presidential Candidates

Justice Osatohanmwen Obaseki-Osaghae of the National Industrial Court in Abuja has ordered the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission to immediately put in place a machinery to start the upward review of salaries to some judicial officers.

The judge gave the ruling on Thursday in a case filed by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Sebastian Hon. The Senior Advocate had approached the court to seek a salary increase for Nigerian judges.

In his ruling, Justice Obaseki-Osaghae also ordered an upward review of the salaries of the affected judicial workers every year or at most every two years.

He also awarded a five hundred thousand judgement cost, in favour of the claimant, to be paid by the  first, second, and third respondents

The court also holds that there is abundant evidence to support the claims that the current salaries of judges and justices, which were last reviewed in 2008 no longer reflect modern realities, owing to the devaluation of the naira, exchange rate, and the general economic downturn.

He emphasized that Kanu is undergoing trial according to the laws of the land and wondered why a governor who swore to protect the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria would call for Kanu’s release.

Nigeria Under Spell, Even A Blind Man Knows Something Is Wrong ― Pastor Enenche
Pastor Paul Enenche

The General Overseer of Dunamis Church, Pastor Enenche, has said that Nigeria is under a witchcraft spell and national bewitchment.

He said that the height of abnormality in Nigeria had gone so off the handle that “even a blind man knows that something is wrong”.

Pastor Enenche who made the remarks in Abuja while leading his congregation in prayers for the nation said that Nigerians “are suffering and smiling”.

He blamed the situation in Nigeria on the invocation of demonic spirits by wicked leaders who desperately want to control the political space at all costs.

According to him, Nigerians are under spell, hence some are ready to die for wicked and insensitive leaders who care less about their existence and well-being. ربح مال حقيقي

”People will be campaigning for almost demons and will want to kill themselves for a person who doesn’t care for them”

He lamented that politicians had mortgaged the future of the country such that generations unborn already have a gloomy future yet the populace feels that all is normal.

”It’s a blatant failure. That you left something worse than you met it. Is that success? If you know how much Nigeria is owing, you will know nothing is left.”

The no-nonsense preacher of holiness prayed for the expiration of every spell cast upon Nigeria and Nigerians to suffer without complaining.

He urged Christians to sustain prayers for the expiration of every national bewitchment and projection of satanic spirits upon the country until Nigerians take back their country from the political hawks.

Muslim-Muslim Ticket: Tinubu, APC Took A

The General Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, William Kumuyi has said politicians should always consider the desires of Nigerians when making decisions.

Kumuyi made the remark while noting that the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu took a slippery road in picking Borno Senator, Kashim Shettima as his running mate.

Tinubu came under intense criticism by Nigerians after he settled for a Muslim-Muslim ticket.

Nigerians had wanted Tinubu to pick a Christian to balance his presidential ticket, but he opted for a Northern Muslim.

Reacting, Kumuyi said politicians should be aware that they did not elect themselves into office when making their decision.

He spoke after paying a visit to the Governor of Kwara State, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, yesterday.

Addressing journalists, the clergyman said: “The Muslim-Muslim or Christian-Christan ticket is a difficult and slippery area.

“The APC presidential flagbearer Bola Tinubu and his party took that slippery way to make Borno Sen and ex-Gov Kashim Shettima his running mate.

“What I will say is that the political office holders should look at the heartbeat of the country, as well as the desires of the people.

“Politicians should know that they are not there for themselves. They are there for all of us. They should ask and make their research about what the nation wants.

“They should ask and make their research on what the country wants, what the people want; if they listen to the people, we will be confident that they will listen to us when they get there.”
