Upon Completion, Lekki Deep Sea Port Will Create Over 112,000 Jobs - FG
Minister of Transportation, Mu’azu Sambo

The Federal Government has said that the Lekki Deep Seaport project would create 112,000 jobs to Nigerians upon its completion.

The Minister of Transportation, Mu’azu Sambo, said this on Sunday in Jalingo, Taraba State capital while addressing journalists.

Sambo said that the port, which is second in Nigeria after Onne Deep-Sea port would bring more tonnage and revenue to the port and the country.

He further said that the project would impact positively on the nation’s economy.

The minister said, “The Lekki Deep Sea Port project is the second after Onne Deep Sea Port in Nigeria. It is significant because the largest ships in the world can berth at the Port. That means, more tonnage, more cargo, more revenue for the port and for the country, more economic activities; and above all, more jobs like I said. Over 112, 000 both direct and indirect jobs will be created as a result of the creation of the Lekki Deep Sea Port.

“This will be in the first few years and as time goes on and as activities expand, the number of the jobs will even multiply and that is what is good for us. For as more jobs we have, the more our ability to put food on the table of many Nigerians.”

Alexander Dugin, a strategist to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, has lost his daughter, Darya Dugina.

Darya, a journalist who like her father supported the invasion of Ukraine, died in an explosion after a device went off.

The Toyota Land Cruiser blew Saturday night on a highway near Bolshie Vyzyomy village, about 40 kilometres outside Moscow.

The 29-year-old lost control as she was driving at high speed and flew to the opposite side of the road.

The Russian government blamed Ukraine for her death. لعبة بينجو اون لاين A friend of the family said the late political scientist was not the target.

Andrei Krasnov, Russky Gorizont movement leader, told news agency TASS that the attackers were probably after Darya’s father.

“As far as I understand it, the target was Alexander directly, or maybe both of them,” Krasnov noted.

Dugin, leader of the Eurasian Movement, is regarded as Putin’s “spiritual guide” in the Ukraine war. The daughter reportedly borrowed his vehicle at the last minute.

The Russian Investigative Committee has commenced an investigation into the “murder” it said was done “in a dangerous manner”.

Nigeria bowed out of the FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup after a 2-0 loss to The Netherlands on Sunday.

The Falconets could not reenact earlier round performances, which saw them winning all three group phase matches, in this their quarter-final match in Alajuela, Costa Rica.

Flourish Sabastine, who scored Nigeria’s winning goal against France in their Group C opening match, could not make hay in the seventh minute.

But four minutes later, the Dutch were ahead, when Zera Hulswit rammed a perfect dipping shot beyond Omini Oyono after pulling away on the counter-attack.

In the 15th minute, Sabastine again pulled away and let fly, but the ball was tipped away by impressive goalkeeper Claire Dinkla.

On the half-hour, Nigeria nearly got the leveller that their endeavour deserved when Deborah Abiodun seized the ball as the Dutch defence fell into confusion.

But her dipping shot from 25 metres rocked the crossbar and was then tipped away from the head of Chiamaka Okwuchukwu.

Only three minutes later, the Dutch doubled their lead after breaking through the right once more.

With team captain Oluwatosin Demehin and Omowumi Oshobukola in a fumble, Ziva Henry bundled the ball past Oyono.

Substitute Joy Jerry came close to pulling one back when her head met the ball from Rofiat Imuran’s cross in the 62nd minute, but the ball floated away.

In the second minute of added time, a Dutch defender handled the ball in the box as Nigeria poured forward.

But after consulting the Video Assistant Referee, Costa Rican official Marianela Araya overturned her own decision to award a penalty kick.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that defeat meant elimination for a team that had won all three group phase matches, scoring five goals and conceding only one.

The Netherlands will now meet Spain on Thursday in the first semi-final fixture, after the European side beat Mexico 1-0 in the first quarter-final match on Saturday.

Brazil who also won 1-0 against Colombia on Saturday in the second quarter-final match await the winners of the fourth quarter-final match fixture between defending champions Japan and France.

Allow Tribunals, Supreme Court work – Gowon Warns Politicians

Former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon, retd, has called on the electorate not to panic over the usual election fever, in view of 2023 elections, but go out to vote only credible candidates that will lead the nation to peace and restoration.

Gowon made the call at the weekend during the launch of the book, Blueprint for National Retrieval, written by Elder Ejodame Emmanuel in Abuja.

The former Head of State, who was represented by Philip Salau, said Nigerians must stop lamentation about prophesy of doom as the general elections drew nearer but prepare to vote right for only credible candidates who had what it took to take the country to the desired destination, insisting that the country would come out stronger after the elections.

He said: ‘‘My message to Nigerians is to choose the candidate that you know will help us achieve this destination, a peaceful and prosperous nation.

‘’I have seen it all, he has no fear, there is always the normal periodic election fever. It is the normal thing. It will ease out. Nigeria will be stable, I can assure you.

”I am not fearful, but confident the election will hold. All that is happening now are general election fever, we have seen it before but then nothing.

In his remarks, the guest speaker, Prof. Pat Utomi, said the tragedy of Nigeria was that it went into a crisis of value which resulted in collapse of culture.

Utomi, who lamented the current state of affairs in the nation, blamed it on the drivers of the state and expressed confidence that the 2023 general elections could turn things around.

‘‘It is a very sad statement about how little progress has taken place in our country, because in some ways, we have gone backwards since then. Things are much worse today than they use to be, sadly.

Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor

A Former President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, on Sunday, tasked politicians in the country to pool resources for profitable investments and “bring back dignity of labour” among Nigerians rather than enticing the populace with crumbs from their stable.

The priest stated this at the first coronation anniversary thanksgiving service organized in honour of the Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III. The event was held inside the Palace Church in Warri, Delta State.

In attendance at the thanksgiving service were the Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege; former Delta State Governor, James Ibori; incumbent Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa; Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Sheriff Oborevwori; popular Delta politician, Chief Great Ogboru; Senator James Manager and the Dein of Agbor, Dr Benjamin Keagboekwuzi I, among others.

Oritsejafor appealed to the entire people of the state, with special emphasis on the politicians, to “pool resources together and restore the old glory of the Warri metropolis as an investment-friendly city, thus checkmating the high rate of graduate unemployment in the state.”

He said, “You should endeavour to make Warri become Dubai of Africa.”

The former CAN President advised political leaders to spread the dividends of democracy to the populace by developing the tourism potential across the state through partnership with global investors, many of whom he said are ready to give technical support.

He, however, cautioned that global support may not be easily accessible until the people make a genuine move.

“Once the people start the international community will have the confidence to partner,” the pastor stated.

The event, which climaxed the week-long celebration, featured special prayers for divine intervention in the life of the Olu of Warri, Warri Kingdom, Delta State and Nigeria at large.

2023: Cleric Who Predicted Buhari’s Victory Reveals Why Tinubu Will Win

0

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, Prophet Coming of the Lord of Paradise The Last Day Church of God a.k.a. Deliverance Ministry for the Kingdom of God, has prophesied that the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu will be the next president of Nigeria.

Prophet Coming of the Lord, gave the revelation while speaking to journalists at his residence in Otokutu, near Warri, Delta State, saying that the lord revealed so many things in an encounter on his recent sojourn to a prayer mountain.

The cleric who in 2019, prophesied that President Buhari will win, as well as the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, said Nigeria has credible men and women who can govern the country, but was quick to add that God has decided to favour Ahmed Tinubu because of his contribution to humanity.

The long bearded Prophet said,”I will tell you what God said concerning 2023 election. Like I prophesied before the APC primary that the man called Jagaban will win and I asked God who is Jagaban why are you talking about Jagaban?”

“The Lord said that he does not look at appearance but that He looks at acts. That this man ruled Lagos and made Lagos become a better place. That the grace He sees in APC, APC will win the presidency of Nigeria. And not only that, that all that he has suffered to make people leaders, He promised to make him president.”

According to the Prophet,”Now by the grace of God, the Lord said the election will be tough but that out of the whole thing, we will see result. We will see a leader and others will be opposition. The Lord said the youths should be careful about who they want to fight for because is He that gives power.”

“God now spoke about Jagaban and I asked who is he? The Lord said he is just a simple man. He is not looking for money because he already has money. God said he want to make a name, fame. That he will rule more than President Buhari. That people should not mind what Buhari did that he offends God that the power He (God) collected from Jonathan in 2015, no party can collect it back.”

On the possibility of a third force winning the presidential election, he said, “The Lord told me that Anambra State former governor, Peter Obi can be president as he did well when he was governor but it is not time. Peter Obi is a good man but it is not time for him to be President.”

“The Lord said he does not have the capability to picking up the Presidency. Even PDP, there is nothing wrong with the party but the Lord said, Jagaban has worked for the position. And God has said he must be, against all odds.”

“Concerning the aspect of tribe, whether Muslim or no Muslim, the Lord said I should tell them whether Christian rule, we are having Osinbajo and we could not hear his voice.”

Speaking futher, the Cleric who said that he has no interest in any of the political parties but only delivering the message sent him by God, as he does not prophesy for money neither does he prophesy to please men, said he also see a dramatic turn in Delta State in favour of the All Progressives Congress (APC) , Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.

He therefore, called on members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State to call for prayers to avert a crisis that may tear the party beyond reconciliation, adding that the incumbent Speaker of the Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, must take a step further to fast and pray against challenges bigger than the one currently working against him candidature.
