2023: Go And Study My Manifesto, Kwankwaso Urges Electorate
Rabiu Kwankwaso

The presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has refuted claims of stepping down from the 2023 race.

This was as Kwankwaso refuted plans of forming an alliance with the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, and Bola Tinubu of the All Progressive Congress, APC.

Kwankwaso described those behind such claims as being mischievous.

Addressing journalists in Maiduguri, Borno State, on Sunday, the NNPP presidential candidate insisted that the report of an alliance with other parties was rubbish.

According to Kwankwaso: “Some people are terribly mischievous and I don’t see how any of these four political parties at this critical time will accept joining one another.

“Some elements are making mischievous postings and insults on social media, but we believe in sportsmanship, and we are out for a good campaign.

“To say NNPP will join or withdraw for APC or PDP is absolutely rubbish; it can’t happen.”

A Federal High Court in Abuja will today deliver a judgment in a suit instituted by the Federal Government seeking to extradite the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police DCP, Abba Kyari to the United States of America.

The Attorney General of the Federation, AGF, acting on behalf of the Federal Government filed the extradition charges against Kyari to pave the way for his extradition to America to answer fraud allegations in the United States of America.

The AGF, Abubakar Malami (SAN) filed the extradition charges under the Extradition Act and it is marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/249/2022.

In April 2021, a jury in America filed an indictment against Kyari with the approval of the US District Court and demanded that Kyari should stand trial for conspiracy to commit wire fraud, money laundering and identity theft.

Consequently, the American embassy requested for Kyari’s extradition saying, “on April 29, 2021, based on the indictment filed by the Grand Jury and with the approval of the United States District Court for the Central District of California, a Deputy Clerk of the court issued a warrant of arrest for Kyari.

“Kyari is the subject of an indictment in case number 2:21-cr-00203 (also referred to as 2:21-mj-00760 and 2:21-cr-00203-rgk), filed April 29, 2021, in the United States District Court for the Central District of California.”

Malami had while filing the charge said that the request for the surrender of Kyari was not made to persecute or punish him on account of his race, religion, nationality or political opinions but in good faith and the interest of justice.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) had also arrested Kyari on February 12 for investigation over allegations bordering on hard drug trafficking and had since been charged to court upon his indictment.

I Want To Be A Team Leader, Not Goal Scorer - Lewandowski

Sunday’s 4-0 La Liga victory for Barcelona at the Nou Camp featured two goals from Robert Lewandowski.

The Poland striker, netting a brace for the second time, has helped the Xavi side claim back-to-back La Liga wins.

Lewandowski opened the scoring in the 24th minute before netting a backheeled effort after the break.

Before halftime, the young midfielder Pedri added another goal, and in extra time, Sergi Roberto added a fourth.

In other news, Ajax and Manchester United have reached an agreement in principle, according to Fabrizio Romano, and Antony will sign his contract with the club on Monday.

With the goal of reuniting Antony with Erik ten Hag, Manchester United has been pursuing him for the majority of the summer. The Brazilian winger has been a top priority for them as they look to add more attacking reinforcements.

Ajax has been reluctant to give up Antony after already selling Lisandro Martinez to Manchester United earlier in the transfer window. They have maintained their position regarding his valuation by turning down some Red Devils’ offers.

However, there have been encouraging signs in recent hours, and a resolution is now in view. The two clubs have an agreement in principle for Antony to join Manchester United, claims transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Ondo Govt Debunks Report Of Punishing Teachers Who Enrol Children In Private Schools

The Ondo State government has refuted claims that it plans to punish teachers in the state public school who enroll their children and wards in private schools.

The state government was reacting to a report in the media which claimed that the government in Ondo state averred that enrolling children in private schools is an offence.

Reacting to the report, Olabode Richard Olatunde
Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Ondo State, said the statement which is credited to the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan was misconstrued.

According to the statement, there’s no law stopping civil servants in the state, especially teachers, from enrolling their children in any school.

“Undoubtedly, the Ondo State Government under Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has made a huge investment in the education sector in the state, especially in Primary and Secondary Schools. Tertiary institutions are not excluded. The rot, which pervaded public schools in the state before the Akeredolu administration assumed office is fast disappearing. لعبة فلوس This has also led to increases in student enrollment in most schools. بيت365

“Under the Akeredolu administration, over 800 Public Primary Schools have been reconstructed and renovated with perimeter fence, ICT center, and playgroup equipment. The students now enjoy modern desks and chairs procured by the Akeredolu administration. Besides, Governor Akeredolu recently recruited over one thousand teachers in the Public primary schools.

“It is based on this background that teachers in the public schools were urged on the moral ground to enroll their wards in public schools for confidence building. This will subsequently increase enrollment and further encourage the government to embark on more upgrades to public schools. لعبه بلاك جاك

“Succinctly, there is no policy or law in Ondo State that forbids anyone in the service of the government, including teachers, from enrolling their wards in any school. However, there is always a place for moral burden. It is, therefore, not an offence for teachers to enroll their wards in any school of their choice. But, it will be morally wrong for teachers, who are proud of their works and teachings to put their wards in a private school”

Yakubu Dogara

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Yakubu Dogara, has again thrown another bombshell in continuation of his fight against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) which he belongs to, by declaring that Honourable Emeka Ihedioha was robbed of his victory as the elected governor of Imo State.

Dogara declared that Ihedioha suffered daylight robbery when his election as governor of Imo State was nullified by the Supreme Court in January 2020.

The former Speaker, according to his media aide, spoke at the thanksgiving service to celebrate the 90th birthday of Ihedioha’s mother, Dame Dorothy Ihedioha, at St James Anglican Church, Asokoro, Abuja, on Sunday.

Dogara noted with delight that the stolen electoral mandate of Ihedioha did not in any way break his spirits, adding that “he has moved on with life.”

He then praised Ihedioha’s resilience and courage, attributes he said came from the upbringing he received from his mother.

He said: “We want to thank God for the gift of life and, more importantly, the gift of longevity. As it is said that the impact of life is not measured by the quantum of years you live, but by how impactful one’s life is.

“We have seen the impact of your life in the church, the community and in the lives of your children as represented by my wonderful brother, His Excellency, Honourable Emeka Ihedioha. “He has supported me and one of the meetings that led to my emergence as Speaker was held in his Guest House.”

The former Speaker added that, “I want to say this with all humility that our brother here [Ihedioha] suffered a brazen daylight robbery, and I can be quoted, but I thank God that he didn’t bend or become depressed.

“And I believe it is his faith in God that kept him and he must have contacted this grace from our mother.”

Turning to the celebrant, Dogara said, “Mama, we thank God for your life and we pray you will continue to age in grace, and by His grace, you will reach the 120 years in good health and in prosperity.

“And we will be here to celebrate with you.”

According to him, what the church stands for ”was to give you (youths) the foundation and space for them to be able to do those things they want to do and fly to whatever height.

”We will continue to create opportunities for every one of our citizens, and we will continue to make it home to all for as long as they want to be peaceful and law-abiding.”

Speaking earlier, the Vicar of Our Saviour’s Church, TBS, The Ven. Ife Okupevi urged Sanwo-Olu to intervene in the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU).
