Stop Telling Lies About Tinubu’s Achievements, He Didn’t Develop Lagos — APC Chieftain

We Will Win 14m Votes For Tinubu, Says Group
Bola Ahmed Tinubu

Tunde Bank-Anthony, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos, has cautioned the supporters of the presidential candidate of the party in the 2023 general elections, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to stop deceiving Nigerians about Tinubu’s achievements in the state.

While speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Wednesday, Bank-Anthony said Tinubu’s supporters were telling lies to Nigerians in a bid to get acceptability for their candidate.

He said before Tinubu, those who had been in charge of the state had done an exceptional job while also noting that Tinubu’s successors as Lagos State governor had done a better job than he did in eight years.

Bank-Anthony, who is the spokesman for the Concerned Lagosians, an APC group, said Mr Babatunde Fashola’s achievements as governor of the state were more visible than that of Tinubu, enjoining the supporters of the presidential candidate to anchor their campaign on something else.

He also warned Tinubu’s supporters not to claim glory for the achievements of Fashola and his successors, former Governor Akinwumi Ambode and incumbent Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Bank-Anthony said, “Our candidate now, everything he [Tinubu] is campaigning with is Lagos as if in the last 100 years, Lagos has seen nothing like him. But we as Lagosians need to set the record straight.

“I’m almost 60 years old, grew up on the Island. I don’t remember a road on the Island that was not tarred but the problem is that the politics they are playing now gives us a lot of concerns.

“The politics that Lagos was developed by Tinubu who happens to be the candidate of my party is unacceptable. Lagos has always been. You call New York, you call Paris, you call London, you call Lagos. The school he [Tinubu] went to in Lagos, did he build it? Where he was born, did he build the hospital?”

He said all APC members in Lagos were on the same page in support of Tinubu’s candidacy but insisted that his group would not be a party to the lies being peddled by the APC presidential candidate’s supporters.

However, Wole Badmus, the Executive Director of South West Grand Alliance for Tinubu-Shettima 2023, while speaking on the programme, argued that Tinubu became the governor of the state when infrastructure was decaying, adding that the infrastructural decay in Lagos forced the federal government to move Nigeria’s capital to Abuja.

While insisting that Tinubu transformed Lagos, he stressed that Fashola, Ambode and Sanwo-Olu were all products of Tinubu’s school of thought.

He said Tinubu’s 25-year blueprint for Lagos is being implemented to date, pointing out that it was not out of place to give him the credit for the successes being recorded in the state to date.

Badmus, who acknowledged the inputs of former governors, especially Alhaji Lateef Jakande, insisted that Tinubu is the father of modern Lagos.

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has explained why the Peoples Democratic Party must respect him and other governors in his camp.

Wike claimed the governors are the ones campaigning for the party with the projects they have executed in their various states and so deserve to be respected. لعبه bingo

He said those governors referred to as “Children” in the party that are carrying out projects, could be used to campaign in their states.

According to Wike “the only states you can see commissioning or flag off of projects are those states according to them that the children are in charge.

“If a PDP state is not doing well, don’t think you will be voted for because APC is not doing well.

“That’s why the party should respect us and know that we are the ones campaigning for the party because we have what we can use to campaign. قوانين لعبة الروليت

Three Million IDPs To Vote In 2023 Elections – INEC

INEC Accredits 1.5Million Party Agents, 18 Parties In 176,974 Polling Units For Polls

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), three million IDPs are expected to cast ballots in the upcoming general elections in 2023.

The Commission’s Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, announced this on Tuesday in Abuja at a meeting with stakeholders regarding the 2022 Revised Framework and Regulations for Voting by IDPs.

Explaining that the revised framework had taken into account various developments since the last review and validation in 2018, it added that once the ongoing Automated Biometric Identification System to remove all double and ineligible registrants is completed, it will display voter registers all over the country.

According to Prof. Yakubu: “The policy was to ensure that no eligible Nigerian is left out of the electoral process on account of displacement, disability or other circumstances that may limit citizens’ participation in the electoral process.

“One of such developments is the increased number of IDPs as a result of widespread insecurity nationwide.

“Secondly, to incorporate not only the displaced citizens arising from armed conflicts but also natural emergencies such as flooding.

“Thirdly, to align the framework with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2022, specifically Section 24(1) which empowers the Commission to ensure that, as far as practicable, no Nigerian is disenfranchised on account of displacement by emergencies. Finally, to align the framework with the national policy on internally displaced persons 2021.”

The electoral body noted that there was also a need for strong collaboration with relevant stakeholders for voter education and sensitization of IDPs.

2023 Presidency: Nigeria Is Not Lagos, Tinubu May Lose In North – APC Forum

2023 Presidency: Nigeria Is Not Lagos, Tinubu May Lose In North – APC Forum
Bola Tinubu

Leaders and members of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) under the aegis of the North Central APC Forum says the dynamics and intrigues of state elections are different from the presidential election.

This is as the forum called on the APC presidential flagbearer, Bola Tinubu, to restrategize his political calculation.

The group said Tinubu was mistaking entire Nigeria for Lagos, adding that he was being ill-advised by a few individuals and that he doesn’t appear to understand the North.

This was disclosed by Chairman of the Forum, Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga while speaking with journalists in Jos, the Plateau State Capital.

He said Tinubu was still mistaking Nigeria as a whole for Lagos State and parts of the South-West where he has much influence.

Zazzaga said what Tinubu does not understand is that the North, particularly, believes in anyone who believes in the region and the nation at large and when they make up their mind to support, they do so wholeheartedly.

“From the way Tinubu is doing, he is yet to fully understand the entire nation, especially the North, and that is why he is still taking advice from few persons rather than expanding his outreach and knowledge of the nation.

“And that is why the likes of former President Olusegun Obasanjo are still seen as very intelligent when it comes to understanding all parts of the country.

“So, if Tinubu is mistaking the entire nation for Lagos State or Southwest, then he could be in for a surprise come 2023. Nigeria is bigger than that, and besides the current challenges the nation is faced with, he needs to think outside the Lagos or Southwest region to show that he has a national solution to the nation’s problems.

“Hence, for Tinubu to be campaigning with his achievements in Lagos as a governor cannot fit in at this moment, because he is only talking about a State and not the nation at large. So, we urge him to expand his scope and national view.

“Besides, there are things which some of the leaders around him need to tell him. We who are dealing with the grassroots, particularly in the North, hear lots of things and always try to call him out to adjust but he is not. It may therefore be difficult to convince many people in the North.

“For instance, this year we have held press conferences calling on Tinubu to apologize to Nigerians over his comments years back that he does not believe in one Nigeria.

“Again we have tried to caution him from some comments that he is ready to fight dirty with anyone in his quest to become the President of the country in 2023. And then there is the issue where he is saying this time it is his turn to rule.

“I have been impressed with them [Arsenal], I just don’t know if they have got the squad,” Carragher told the Overlap.

“When I watch Tottenham, and Manchester United, they are almost getting results the same sort of way, big, powerful, and tough to beat. ربح الاموال

“When I watch Arsenal, it’s fast, energetic; I’m excited watching it, but could what happened [against Manchester United] happen too often?

“But the more impressive team, when we talk about how the game is played right now, the technical game and what Liverpool and Man City have done over the last four or five years, I think Arsenal are closer to that than say Tottenham or Man United are.”

He added: “I wanted Arsenal to get top four because I like what Mikel Arteta’s done, I think Mikel Arteta has done a good job. I love the young players they have got when you are talking about going forward and building on that, Mikel Arteta right now is not at the level of Conte, Tuchel, Klopp, and Guardiola.

“There’s no way at the start of next season whoever you bring in I am sure it will be a striker and a couple of players, I would think Arsenal won’t come close to the Champions League.”

Police Confirms Bank Robbery Attack In Kogi

The recent robbery attack on three banks in Ankpa Local Government of Kogi state has been confirmed by the State Police Command on Wednesday

It was earlier reported that three commercial banks were simultaneously attacked on Tuesday by robbers who came in their numbers with sophisticated weapons.

A source in Ankpa told our correspondent that two persons lost their lives during the operation while the armed robbers went away with the money.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye Aya, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday, said the Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Egbuka, has led a team of tactical operatives to the scenes for an on-the-spot assessment.

According to him, the Commissioner has equally ordered the deployment of additional operational assets consisting of operatives of the Police Mobile Force, Counter Terrorism Unit, Quick Response Unit, and State Intelligence Bureau in synergy with other security agencies to restore normalcy in the area.

“The police personnel on duty at the station and the banks quickly recovered from the sudden attack and gallantly repelled the attackers who were forced to flee. Some ran nearby bushes, others with their vehicles. The hoodlums abandoned three vehicles used for the operation in their haste to escape, some of them with bullet wounds,” he added.

While calling on the people of Ankpa and its adjoining communities to be on the lookout and report anybody seen with bullet wounds to the police or any other security forces nearest to them, Aya said the Command is committed to working in synergy with other security agencies as well as patriotic stakeholders in the ongoing onslaught against crimes and criminality in Kogi State.

He further tasked the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Investigation Department (SCID) to commence investigations to unravel the remote and immediate cause of the act, and trail the hoodlums to apprehend and bring them to book.

VCs Misinforming The Public On Poly Lecturers’ Salaries – ASUP

ASUP Calls Off Strike, Urges Members To Resume Work On Monday
Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, on Wednesday, accused the Committee of vice-chancellors of Federal Universities of misinforming the public about the state of salaries of chief lecturers in polytechnics.

In a statement signed by the Secretary General of ASUP, Abdullahi Yalwa, and made available to our correspondent in Abuja, the union noted that the claim of the VCs that chief lecturers in polytechnics earnde more than professors could cause issues during the negotiations of polytechnic lecturers.

The statement read, “Our Union’s attention has been drawn to a statement from the Committee of Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Universities contained in the report submitted by the body to the government during the meeting of Vice Chancellors, Chairmen of Governing Councils of Federal Universities and the Minister of Education on September 6, 2022.

“An extract from the submission made by the CVCNU was emphatic in conveying the erroneous impression that chief lecturers in Nigeria’s polytechnics (and colleges of education) earn more than professors in the nation’s universities.

“The position of the CVCNU was made in order to justify the legitimate demands of our sister union, the Academic Staff Union of Universities for a wage increase.

While we understand the disposition of the CVCNU to support the aspirations of ASUU, putting out fallacious statements as it affects the emoluments of other workers in the other tiers of tertiary education in the country will only undermine same aspiration,

“Apart from the falsehood, it is improper for the CVCNU to have made such statement at a time that our Union is also renegotiating emoluments for our members as it has the potentials of creating the wrong impression about the emoluments of workers in polytechnics and Colleges of Education, thereby undermining the ongoing renegotiation process between the FGN and Polytechnics.

“Without doubt, the CVCNU has access to the salary structures of the different cadres of staff across the tertiary education landscape and therefore has no basis to indulge in needless extrapolation. The agitation for wage review in the university system can indeed proceed creditably without such fallacious reference by parties as such can only breed needless rivalry in the sector”.
