Perish Your Plan Of Eliminating Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB Warns FG

Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu Offers N1million Challenge To Law Students
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu

The Indigenous People of Biafra has accused the Federal Government of “systematically” killing its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The pro-Biafran group said it was high time the whole world spoke against the atrocity going on in the DSS Abuja dungeon against the leader of the IPOB.

It also claimed that the Federal Government had deliberately planned to eliminate Kanu, at the DSS solitary confinement.

These were contained in a statement made available to journalists by the group’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful on Saturday.

The statement read, “The Federal Government has deliberately planned to eliminate Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who is illegally detained in DSS solitary confinement.

“Kanu is battling heart problems and some mineral deficiencies which require medical specialists’ attention, but the Federal Government has refused to release him as the courts have ordered and has not allowed him access to his personal physicians.

“Instead, they have resorted to patronising roadside pharmacies for his drug, which we see as a systematic and gradual diminishing of his life and final elimination method.

“A few days ago, IPOB legal team members and a brother of Kanu visited him in the DSS custody where he informed them that the DSS agents have not given him his prescribed drugs for nine days and more. More so, the DSS hasn’t given him food for some days, claiming that they don’t have money for his food and drugs. How preposterous!

“We, the global family of the Indigenous People of Biafra, therefore, call on the Federal Government to release Kanu immediately if they can’t afford his medications and food.

“IPOB is more than capable to provide for our leader the best medical services in the world and can give him any food of his choice, but it is their responsibility to ensure that he feeds well with good medical attention because they have illegally keeping him in prison. IPOB will not take it lightly with them if anything untoward happens to him. They cannot succeed breaking him down.

“We, in IPOB, understand the recent actions of the DSS as a plot to systematically diminish and finally kill Kanu by starving him of his drugs and food. But we wish to remind the Nigeria government and all who are remotely interested in Nigeria to bear in mind that IPOB and in fact Biafrans will wage unending wars with the Nigerian state if anything untoward happens to Kanu.

“This is not a threat but a promise that generations of Biafrans must keep even after Biafra Nation has been restored. Several times, we have called on Mallam Abubakar Malami and his collaborators to release Kanu as the courts of competent jurisdictions have ordered.

“More so, the United Nations Working Group gave directives for Kanu to be released and be compensated by this Nigeria government, but Malami, the Fulani cabals, and other self-seeking politicians have refused to obey court verdicts.”

South East Has No Reason To Vote Against PDP — Atiku

0

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, took his campaign to Owerri, Imo State on Saturday, saying the South-East has no reason not to back the party with their votes come February 25, 2023.

“I want to assure you that you will have no cause to regret voting PDP. The PDP witnessed the greatest growth in this country during its years. We shall repeat it and even surpass what we did when were in government,” Atiku told a crowd of supporters.

“I assure you and I swear to God, we are capable of doing it again because those of us who did it last time are still alive and strong. See me here. So, the people of Imo and the South-East, you have absolutely no reason to vote for any other party other than PDP.”

Atiku courted the support of his party’s stalwarts in the All Progressives Congress (APC) stronghold with reference to his Igbo ties “for many decades” and his self-professed ability to bring economic and systemic transformation to the region.

“For me, it is a homecoming to Imo again. The first chieftaincy title to be given to me in the South East was given to me here in Imo State – Nwanne Di N’Mba of Ngo Okpala. This Imo airport, we dashed it to the people of Imo.

“Our community, the community to which I belong, the community that honoured me first in the South-East. That is why if I am the president, Imo is the presidency. It is your own presidency.

“I want to assure you that if I have the opportunity and you elect me, business and trading will pick up again because, in my policy document, I said I am going to set aside $10 billion just to empower women and young men in business. So, there will be absolutely no need for any young man or woman not to have something to do,” he said.

The PDP standard bearer also promised to deal with the country’s security challenges and take active steps towards restructuring the country.

“I know we have security challenges all over the country. Let me tell you, when you elect me president, I will come here, sit down with you, discuss with you, ‘What is your problem?’ And together, we will work out a settlement,” he said.

“I know the entire South-East is yearning for restructuring of the country, and it is one of the five items on my agenda that I will sit down with every part of this country, whatever devolution of power we want and resources we want, we will work with the National Assembly to make sure power and resources are devolved to the federating units.”

On his part, the National Chairman of the PDP, Senator Iyorcha Ayu, warned that the party would not tolerate division in the party, assuring supporters that if Atiku is elected, he will bring development to Imo and tackle insecurity.

“The state is a PDP state. Since 1999, the state has always been a PDP state. All (the indigenes) that left, including Rochas Okorocha, were all PDP. We must ensure unity to win. We won’t tolerate division in the party. We must work together and produce the president on the 25th of February.

“Everyone must mobilise everyone. Once you win the presidency, we will take Imo back. If you vote for Atiku, he will bring security and development to the state. Vote for a person who understands the country and knows how to tackle insecurity. Igbo people are prosperous people and we will support the youths and women,” Ayu said, according to a statement.

Earlier, the PDP vice presidential candidate, Ifeanyi Okowa, said the Imo youths had shown they were ready to vote for the PDP, adding entrepreneurs and youths in the state would benefit “immensely” from an Atiku presidency.

The Director General of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Governor Aminu Tambuwal, told the crowd that Atiku was familiar with the issues of the state as well as the entire South-East.

“He is here seeking your support to recover this country,” he said.

He said, “It will affect politicians more because in order to evade taxation or avoid recovery, they keep loads of millions of naira in their accounts. They want to catch up with them.

“One thing that is likely to happen now, the price of dollar will shoot up because politicians are gearing up. All the money they have packed, they cannot take to the bank. They are planning to buy dollars so that they can change them when the new currency is out.”

He said the country needed detribalised godly leaders who can defend the country and unite the nation.

“ATM does not request for our tribe and faith before dispensing; rain has no preference for either of these too, and in as much as there is no special financial technology on the premise of tribes and region, then, our selfish needs should never undermine our collective growth,” he stated.

Akinadewo also stressed the need for Nigerians to believe in themselves, urging them to think more about what they can do for the country rather than what the country can do for them.

“Furthermore, our dependence on foreign nations for everything should be reduced to the barest minimum but encourage local participation,” he added.
