The Ikenna & Jenn Ukwa Foundation, founded by the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Chief Ikenna Nicolas Ukwa, and his wife, Lolo Jennifer E. Ukwa, has commenced the distribution of educational materials to primary and secondary schools in Abam Clan, Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia State.

The exercise, which began on Friday, October 9, 2026, is part of the foundation’s Back-to-School Programme, organised in collaboration with the Ikenna Ukwa Progressive Group to support pupils, students and parents across Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency.

According to a statement issued by the Ikenna Ukwa Media Team, the initiative is aimed at easing the financial burden on parents, particularly amid the prevailing economic challenges, while providing children with essential learning materials to support their education.

The foundation explained that the programme reflects its commitment to educational development and its belief that every child deserves access to quality education, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.

The intervention also comes amid Ukwa’s earlier announcement of a proposed ₦100 million Educational Trust Fund, which he pledged to establish if elected to the House of Representatives in 2027.

According to him, the proposed fund would provide scholarships and other forms of educational assistance to pupils and students across the constituency, help reduce the burden of school fees on parents and support improvements in learning environments.

Teachers, pupils and students at the benefiting schools reportedly expressed appreciation to Ukwa and his wife for the gesture, describing the educational support as timely and encouraging.

They also offered prayers for the couple, asking God to bless them and sustain their efforts towards improving the welfare and educational opportunities of children in the constituency.

The organisers disclosed that the distribution would continue in other schools within Abam Clan before the outreach team proceeds to another clan on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.

The Back-to-School Programme is expected to extend to other parts of Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, including Arochukwu, Abiriba, Ihechiowa, Isu, Nkporo, Ohafia and Ututu.

The foundation maintained that investing in children’s education remains an important step towards building a brighter future for the constituency.
