The Member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa, has congratulated the newly elected Abia State Chairman of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Azubuike, describing his emergence as a significant step toward strengthening the party’s structure in the state.
In a statement made available to ABN TV, the lawmaker also congratulated members of the State Working Committee, expressing confidence in their capacity to reposition the party for greater performance and electoral success.
Hon. Osonwa commended the peaceful conduct of the Labour Party State Congress held in Umuahia, noting that the adoption of the consensus method by delegates reflected unity, discipline, and internal democracy within the party.
He further lauded the leadership of Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, describing his doggedness, vision, and commitment as key drivers behind the stability and growing acceptance of the party across the state.
“This successful and peaceful congress is a clear testament to the focused and purposeful leadership of Governor Alex Otti. His doggedness, vision, and commitment to building a united party have continued to inspire confidence among members,” Osonwa stated.
The federal lawmaker emphasized that the emergence of the new executives represents a call to service, urging them to work tirelessly to unite party members and deepen grassroots mobilisation.
“I congratulate Mr. Peter Azubuike and all members of the State Working Committee on their well-deserved emergence. I am confident that they will work diligently to strengthen our party across Abia State,” he added.
Osonwa also extended his congratulations to party officials who emerged at the ward and local government levels across the state, particularly in Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, commending their dedication and loyalty.
He stressed the need for sustained unity, discipline, and grassroots engagement, expressing optimism that the Labour Party would continue to grow stronger and record resounding victories in future elections, including 2027.
