As part of its ongoing reforms in the justice delivery sector, the Abia State Government has announced that Governor Alex Otti will on Wednesday commission the newly completed Umuene Court Complex in Isialangwa South Local Government Area.

Briefing journalists after the State Executive Council meeting, Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, revealed that the Umuene project is among 16 new court complexes being constructed across the 17 local government areas of the state.

He described the new court buildings as state-of-the-art facilities designed to enhance access to justice, strengthen the judiciary, and modernize Abia’s justice delivery system.

According to Kanu, the initiative reflects the Otti-led administration’s conviction that “the judiciary represents the conscience of democracy” and must be empowered to serve citizens equitably, regardless of class or background.

He added that the new complexes will serve as beacons of technological innovation in the administration of justice in the state.
