The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of the results of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), while disclosing that the results of 39,834 candidates have been withheld due to suspected examination irregularities.
JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, made the announcement on Friday during a press briefing in Abuja.
“The board has released the results of the 2025 UTME. However, 39,834 results are being withheld for further investigation over various infractions,” he said.
He revealed that more than 1.9 million candidates participated in the just-concluded nationwide exercise.
Oloyede further disclosed that 80 individuals are currently under investigation for alleged involvement in examination fraud, with Anambra State recording the highest number of suspects at 14.
Addressing concerns over underage participation, the registrar said, “A total of 467 underage candidates sat for the examination and scored above the minimum benchmark. Out of these, 50 were found to have engaged in malpractice.”
