Resignation: Former CJN Tanko Muhammad A Good Example For Other Leaders To Follow — Barr. Otagburuagu

A stalwart of All Progressives Congress APC, Barr. Nnaemeka Otagburuagu has applauded the resignation of the immediate past Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN Tanko Muhammad, saying it is a new trend among top officials of government.

In an interview with ABN TV on Saturday, the legal practitioner said the country is used to sit tight syndrome among leaders, saying by the resignation and vacation of his official residence, Tanko Muhammad is setting a good example, urging other leaders to emulate him.

The resignation of the Chief Justice of Nigeria is commendable in the light of sit tight disposition of Government appointee and Representatives.

“It should be noted that our Country is not used to seeing top Government appointees resign and relinquish power for any reason, Tanko Mohammed have shown a different trend in leadership and must be commended for that“, he said.

According to Barr. Otagburuagu, the former CJN as a leader, accepted responsibility and chose the exit door to avoid letting the Judicial system down.

He said, “The resignation of the CJN shows that the survival of the Supreme court and the judiciary as an institution is paramount to him and not his personal interest.

The fact the he did not only resign but also took immediate steps to vacate his official residence is equally commendable.

“This singular disposition tells a lot about him and worthy of emulation by other leaders who sit tight on their respective position even when the ovation is at its lowest.”
