A renowned Interpol Systems Consultant, Sir Chikwe Udensi has blamed governors in South East for the creation of Eastern Security Network, ESN a wing of IPOB, saying their inability to act at the appropriate time to tackle security issues in the region created a vacuum which ESN filled.

Udensi in a chat with ABN TV on Wednesday said the creation of Amotekun in South West was timely which replaced Odua Peoples Congress, OPC, insisting that Amotekun is effective.

While stating that South-East Governors created ESN inadvertently by allowing a security gap to exist, he warned that Ebubeagu security outfit created by the governors should not be allowed to die, cautioning that it will give rise to more dangerous armed groups.

He said, “It is South-East Governors that created ESN inadvertently without knowing it. It is their laziness, it is their laxity, it is their ineptitude. It is their inept nature that created ESN.

“When it comes to a stage when nobody can defend you, you defend yourself. And if it continues, it will get to a stage where everybody will carry arms in Nigeria.

“The insecurity is such that people are tired. A few days ago, the Emir of Zazzau said everybody should carry arms in self defence. Once there is a lapse, a vacuum is created.”

He continued, “If Ebubeagu is allowed to collapse, more dangerous groups will come out. We should not allow Ebubeagu to collapse. South-East Governors should come together to make Ebubeagu work. If it collapses, dangerous groups can come from anywhere and people will go into self defence”.

Recall that governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State had recently tendered his resignation as the coordinator of Ebubeagu security outfit, citing a lack of financial and logistics support from his colleagues in the region.
