Uturu Stands Still As Former President Jonathan Visits Gregory University Next Week

Former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan is billed to visit the foremost private University in Nigeria, Gregory University Uturu, Abia State on Wednesday 3rd March 2021.
A statement signed by the acting Registrar, Rosemary Igbokwe partly reads, “Plans have been concluded for the former president to perform the foundation laying of the 1000 bed capacity Gregory University Uturu Teaching Hospital Complex located at Ezinnachi on Wednesday 3rd March 2021.
“He is also expected to commission and energize the 5MVA electricity transformer recently procured by the Chancellor, Prof Gregory Ibe, for the purpose of distributing power to Uturu and environs”.

The release further states that “the former president will subsequently observe the rededication of the school main auditorium which is named after him, and thereafter participate in a special convocation ceremony during which he will be conferred with an honorary doctorate degree”.
The management of the institution, therefore, urged all attendees to the special convocation ceremony to abide by all operative COVID-19 safety measures, stressing that non-compliance will lead to denial of access to the event venue.
