Zone 9 Police Announce Date For NHIS Enrollment For Retired Officers

The Nigeria Police Force Zone 9 comprising Abia, Ebonyi, and Imo has fixed a date for the second phase of National Health Insurance Scheme, NHIS for retired officers of the force who did not participate in the first phase. ABN TV reports.

It is scheduled to commence from 15th March, 2021 to 18th March, 2021.

The exercise is open for each retired police officer and a spouse only, a statement signed by SP Egwu Chukwu JANET, Police Public Relations Officer, Zone 9 Umuahia Abia State says.

The statement partly reads, “This is to inform members of the public especially retired Police officers who did not enrol into National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) during first phase that the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed A. Adamu, NPM, mni has graciously approved second phase of registration and capturing of retired officers (each with a spouse) from 15th March, 2021 to 18th March, 2021. They are advised to visit any nearby Area Commands of their residence to participate.

“The retirees are expected to present (1) letter of Retirement and (2) Retiree’s ID card for the capturing exercise. The Inspector-General of Police is passionate about the welfare of it’s personnel in Retirement. He, therefore, notes that the registration and services provided under this Scheme is absolutely at no cost and without any form of deduction from Retirees’ monthly pension.

Umuahia, Aba, Isuikwuato, Akwete, Isiala Ngwa and Ohafia

EBONYI STATE COMMAND
Abakaliki, Onueke, Ohaozara, Ohaukwu, Nkalagu and Afikpo.

IMO STATE COMMAND
Owerri, Okigwe North, Okigwe South,Ideato,Omuma, Ohaji/Egbema, Ngor Okpala Mbaise, Ezinihite Mbaise, Mbaitolu and Orlu.

“Retirees not registered in first phase of NHIS are encouraged to make judicious use of this golden opportunity to monitor and improve their Heath system”.
