The Nigeria Police Force Zone 9 Umuahia has played host to a delegation of Police Trust Fund (NPTF) who were in the zone to ascertain the areas of need of the command and ways it could intervene to smooth operation, ABN TV reports.

This is as the zone listed as its top priorities Drones for airiel survey and monitoring, CCTV Cameras, ICT/Communication equipments in general like walkie talkies, Internet services, Arms & Amunitions, operational/logistic vehicles, befitting Barracks/Accomodations, sponsorship of Training & Retraining programs and institutions, protective and detective devices, quality Uniforms/ Kits/accoutrements. The high-powered 5-man team from police Trust Fund who visited on Wednesday from Abuja was led by Dr Mike Adebiyi, a BOT member of the Trust Fund.

Welcoming the team, the AIG in charge of the zone, Isaac Olutayo Akimoyede presented an overview of some of the most vital needs of the police force in general and with specific peculiar challenges of Zone 9 based on unique geopolitical, security disposition of the South-East currently, a release by the PRO in charge of the zone, SP Yisrael Ini-Obong Jack-Rabin said.

The release added, “Meanwhile, the visiting Team is currently touring, inspecting and interfacing with the Imo State Police Command/ Stakeholders…all for the overall and ultimate development of police infrastructures and personnel welfare in order to enhance motivation, capacity building for effective and optimal performance/ operational efficiency as expected by the citizens/society in general and as enshrined in the enabling laws of the country, including the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Police Act & Regulations etc, especially at this auspicious moment of security challenges everywhere in the country.

“Meanwhile, the NPTF Team is expected return back to it’s operational Headquarters in Abuja anytime soon with an assurance of reporting positively and favourably back to the Board of its Trustees (BOT) for timely intervention and implications of the team’s report.

“So far so good and to God alone be all the glory for His manifold blessings, grace, favours and mercies upon the Zone and it’s members, particularly in the area of security of our lives and properties including those of our most cheerish families,friends and loved ones, Shalom!!!”
