Following the devastating loss of his colleague, Mohbad, a former signee under the label’s name, renowned Nigerian music producer Olumide Ogunade, who goes by the alias ID Cabasa, has offered rare information regarding Marlian Records.
While innumerable Nigerians, including celebrities, mourn the unexpected death of the ‘Imole’ maestro, who went away at the age of 27, ID Cabasa has also added his voice to the chorus of sorrow.
In a viral video, ID Cabasa fiercely condemned Naira Marley’s exploitation of his signees within the limits of his record label.
To underscore his argument, the seasoned entertainer asserted that he had received information suggesting that the car and house Zinoleesky had bought in recent years were registered under the label’s name, rather than in Zinoleesky’s personal name.
ID Cabasa, who has nurtured musical legends like Olamide and 9ice under his label, vehemently labeled Naira Marley’s actions as nothing short of wickedness.
He asserted that Naira Marley has unequivocally dismantled the fundamental principles and objectives typically associated with record label owners. Cabasa stressed that, instead of improving the livelihoods of his signees, Naira Marley has effectively subjected them to a state of servitude.
In December 2022, Zinoleesky proudly unveiled an array of photos showcasing his brand-new house, emphatically declaring that he had gained it under his own name.
This year, the singer once again made waves on social media by sharing a video capturing his latest acquisition – a Ferrari 458 Italia a lavish purchase exceeding a hundred million naira, and all proudly registered under his own name, according to the Marlian Artiste.
