The wife of former Zambia President Edgar Lungu has been released from police custody following her arrest on Wednesday over allegations bordering on theft.
Esther Lungu was arrested along with four other suspects and was later released in the evening alongside her co-accused, police spokesperson Danny Mwale stated.
They are charged with the theft of a vehicle and one count of theft of a certificate of title for a property in Lusaka.
They are also accused of being in possession of property believed to be proceeds of crime, allegations they have all denied.
Suspects will be charged to court in Lusaka.
